  1. It was a little warm this afternoon but it was a beautiful day! Got a little hotter than I wanted to hanging my new Lone Wolf stand and sticks. Trying to do it as quietly as I could. The more I use it the easier it will be. Definitely love it so far! Headed back in the morning and hope the big 8 that was on camera this morning comes back out.
  2. Just got word I’ll be working tomorrow for half day. Sucks but hey, it is what it is. Definitely heading out as soon as I get off though. Gonna be awesome weather! Good luck to y’all going in the morning. I’ve watched deer moving all morning in Smyrna and Murfreesboro. They like this cool air and now that the rain has paused they’re moving good.
  3. Y’all it was killing me being at work this evening. The rain let up and temps dropped. I felt like a caged animal staring out of the building haha!
  4. Yeah I’m still crossing my fingers that we may not have to work. Even if we do I’ll head out after and enjoy the cooler weather
  5. Well here’s a recap of my opening weekend of archery season: SaturdyMorning: Worked 4:30am till noon. Saw deer in almost every field I passed on the way in and it was pretty much gut wrenching lol. Saturday Afternoon: Watching the radar when I got home we had bad thunderstorms rolling about the time I would have been leaving after a scent removal shower. And sure enough when I got out of the shower and BOOM! Here it came. I’ll hunt in heavy or light rain, but lightening is a different ball game. So a sulked and stayed home hoping that’s Sunday mornings forecast was wrong. Sunday Morning: I woke up and showered after seeing the forecast was in fact still the same as it was Saturday night. 80 and 90% chance of rain with chances for thunderstorms. I decided I’d still go even if I ended up sitting in my truck. I grabbed my rain gear and a tree umbrella and it was a good dang thing I did. It was raining when I got there and was steady up till about 8:30ish and the bottom fell out. I just sat in the stand literally laughing because I didn’t care, I was hunting! Sunday Afternoon: I had to take my wife and daughter to TPAC for a performance they had purchased tickets for. While they were in there (3 1/2 hours) I drove around watching fields on outskirts of Nashville seeing deer eating. I couldn’t hunt them but at least was able to watch. This weekend is looking awesome so far! Except that I have to work Saturday till noon again. I sure want to be in a stand Saturday morning but I’ll be out right after. Sunday morning looks to be the same so I’ll be up in a tree all day with no honey-do-list. Any of y’all do any good?

    ...

I will ditto this and also have to throw FN in this group as well.
  7. Yeah it’ll be warm and rain to boot. I am going to have to work Saturday on top of everything else. If we get out at a decent time and it’s not pouring I will head out for the evening. Then hopefully can give it a go Sunday.

  9. Yep, right now it’s showing 89 for high Saturday. Sure wish it was gonna be a cool day like we had a couple weeks ago. Either way I’m excited to be in a tree.
  10. Thanks! I’m not counting my chickens yet though. They could change pattern tomorrow lol. I’m sure glad I was able to suck it up and hold to my goal last year of letting bucks walk. I’d take either of these two bigger bucks with my bow as I’ve yet to take a buck at all during my few years of archery hunting. Rifle season will be a different story though, I plan to hunt some public land as well as Cheatham draw hunt. So I’ll let these two walk during rifle unless they are bigger in person than they appear on film. Either way I’m looking forward to this season! Good luck to you this weekend!
  11. Well boys and girls, it's the last video before season opens for us bow hunters! Enjoy, wish y'all good luck, and please wear your harness if you're getting in a stand this year!
  12. Well I had a couple weeks of non existent deer, very sporadic is more like it. It seems they were back at it this past week. Hope y'all enjoy!
  13. I put it for it even though I knew chances were slim. Can’t win if ya don’t play right? Happy for those who did get drawn though.
  14. RIP Insure enjoyed his humor. Right now I’m picturing him and Dom in the outtakes of Cannonball Run
  15. Not sure how many of you know about this, I’m surprised how many people I say something to that never knew they had it. But Bass Pro is offering 6 pay again, usually available for a couple weeks and goes away for couple months or so. You can order anything (except firearms) as long as total is over $125 and you pay 1/6 of total when you order and they ship it to you right then. Then they take 1/6 of the total every 30 days until it’s paid off, no interest and you don't have to wait like layaway. So if you bought a tree stand for example that was $125, you'd pay $25ish per month for 5 months after the initial payment with no interest. I use it every year!
  16. Glad I wasn't the only one who didn't see anything. The last two weeks my camera footage has dropped 90%. I know patterns change about this time of year but sure hoping it picks back up and some new bucks show up as well.
  17. Well I was in the tree at 4:45 this morning and stayed till 10:30. Didn’t see any deer but it’s so thick where I’m hunting so they could have walked by 40 yards away and I’d never have known. It really felt good to be back in the tree again! And thank you to whoever invented the dang Thermacell. Seriously one of the greatest tools made for hunting early season and sometimes late season if you’re by water. Lifesaver for sure! Congratulations to Shaun and anyone else who got the chance to harvest a velvet buck this weekend. Now the countdown to the official archery opener!
  18. Talked to him this morning. He had him on game camera like 4 minutes before he shot him. Great buck!
  19. I’m working tomorrow so no hunting for me. But I may have changed my mind about not going Saturday. I may go out and unless the perfect opportunity arises, I can still film and enjoy being in the woods. I’ve field dressed many deer but never butchered my own and don’t want to mess it up in hot weather. It’s been stressful thinking about what if this happens, what if that happens, and I am probably over thinking it. I don’t want the meat to spoil and I dang sure don’t want to mess up the velvet.
  20. Possibly!! Haha
  21. Didn’t have much on camera this week. Strange amount of non-activity. Hopefully this week will be better. https://m.imgur.com/a/nTERQ6P
  22. Not sure what it does but POF is Patriot Ordnance Factory. I’d start with their website
  23. Yeah make sure the camera isn’t where they can see the flash at night even if it’s only a dim red one. Preferably outside the porch overhead in a tree perhaps so they won’t be eye level with it and take it too. Kind of hard to read an sd card that’s in a stolen camera. Hope you catch the thief, can’t stand the low down scumbags.
  24. Man sorry about your buck! That takes a low down scumbag to take another mans deer.
