Nice! I've never had one, but always wanted one "just because".

Got my rattle can fix and no i'm not into huffing paint.
rugerla1 replied to Luke E.'s topic in Show and Tell
Well, I won't lie, as soon as I responded here, I pulled up about 15 different YouTube videos on it. Cory & Erika did a good one on it too. I'm very interested in it. I've noticed that one of the differences between people painting their AR's, is that some paint the barrel, and some don't. I'm sure it's because they are concerned with the heat messing up the paint. This is of course a concern for me as I think about it, but most feedback said that it held up fine. -

I can totally understand the part about being hard to start spraying, I would be the same way. That being said, I think it turned out sweet, very nice job!!! I hope the paint holds up good for you. I would love to do that to mine, it's barely even broken in so it would definitely be hard to let that first mist of paint fly. But who knows, once I start thinking about doing something, I just wake up one day, buy the stuff, and hammer down. Lol -
Dang!!!! That was crazy.

I'm very sorry for what all you and your family went through and glad you got some help as well. That being said, you deserved it, so nobody is talking about people that deserve it. Anytime I talk about the leechers, I am ONLY talking about them, but it never fails that someone thinks EBT/help users are all lumped into one, regardless of the statement saying "Not the ones who need it, I'm talking about the ones who abuse it". The abuse is great, not small. And the abusers have no plans of changing. Why would they? Once they became like us and had to nickel and dime everything to only have to shell out money to pay for the next lazy person in line, they'd see why we get irritated at the ones who don't want to earn their way. Again, NOT people like you who needed the help. I wish y'all the best and hope everything is better.

Lmao! I have it too, I just meant when SHTF

Amen to that. I come from a big family, and we got by on very little a lot of the time. It made us thankful for the times we had more. Way too many people nowadays THINK they have to have all of the extras all the time. I'm proud of everyday that we all had together, and if/when the SHTF, I know my family and friends who were raised like us, will be easily adapted to getting by since we've done it. The last thing I'll be worried about is buying lottery tickets or getting a phone with unlimited data. Even now, we don't have tons of money set back like I'd like to have. But we are happy, and healthy. Hell, these people complaining eat better than we do and don't and won't work for their own.

Just another bulls^&t stunt to cause as much disruption, and pain to people who work for a living and obey the law. Heaven forbid making it harder on lazy a$$es, let's screw with the people who want to get out and do something with our lives and pay taxes. Really pisses me off! http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/10/11/budget-fight-kills-traditional-bow-hunt-on-blackbeard-island/?intcmp=latestnews

Didn't see this posted. Appears that a lot of people are without money on their cards. This scenario nationwide has always been a concern of mine as far as SHTF. I'm not making light of the people who really deserve the help, but to the others that live off of us because they don't want to work, I say this "I work for everything I have and have ever had, and there have been many times that I didn't have much to eat, or any money. I got through it, I didn't bi^&* at someone to give me a card to buy cigs, beer, food, and whatever the hell else they are allowed to get now. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/10/12/food-stamp-debit-cards-not-working-in-17-states/?intcmp=latestnews

I didn't see anything all day, till I was walking to the truck and saw 2 does eating in the dang back yard. Too dark to shoot and too far away. Seems like they are moving later in the evening from what I can tell.
-
I stayed out till eleven, didn't see anything. Went home for a couple if hours and back out here again for the evening. Hope they'll be moving.

Hopefully you will be posting up good footage of your kill in the morning! I'm headed out too, but with no camera mounted LOL. Good luck!

Enjoy yourself and be safe!

Good video, thanks for posting. And you're right, definitely won't see anything if you're not in the woods haha

I was thinking about going out for a couple of hours in the morning too. But I also thought about what you said when I looked up at the sky when I left work. Who knows though, I may give it a shot anyway.

That reminds me ^^ 3 years ago, I was 3 weeks out from my last chemo treatment. Hauling my butt up in the ladder stand took every ounce of energy I had, but I WAS going to be in the woods. It was a chore even holding my rifle up and steady but I did it. One evening around 5:00 I killed an 8 pointer. I waited that "eternity" we all know, even though I watched him crash 20 yards from my stand. I was chemo weak and buck fever weak all at the same time, so I made sure to calm down and climb down slowly. Seriously, looking back, I should have known better since I'd went from 240 down to 180. I had no business trying to pull a deer up through the woods to the truck. That being said, I tried it.......for about 10 yards.....then collapsed and laid there looking up. I honestly thought to myself "You dumba$$, you're going to lay here and die over this deer". Yes I was breathing hard, short breaths and heart racing, and really glad now that I didn't push any farther. I laid there for an unknown amount of time, had absolutely nobody to call to help me. So I finally caught my wind and walked s-l-o-w-l-y back to the truck, drove all the way to Smyrna from Lebanon, hooked up my trailer, loaded my 4 wheeler, and made the drive back. I thought, crap, I still have to put it on the back of the 4 wheeler!!!! I did it (balance was topsy turvy during this ordeal lol) and drove to my buddy's house once everything was loaded back up on the trailer. He'd just got off work, and what a relief it was to see him. I was flat wore out, purely exhausted. He actually unloaded it for me and field dressed it while I laid on the trailer and tried to revive what energy I could. So thankful for him to help, because there was no way I could have done it. Now, I'm back strong, and can load any deer up anywhere, and thankful to God for getting me healthy to hunt every single day that I am allowed to. It's a big deal for a man to finish the deal when he takes game, so even though I couldn't do it then, I still think about that evening that I wondered "Is this the last time I'm going to get to hunt", since I didn't know the results from the chemo. Don't take any one minute in the woods for granted, after God, my family, and friends I consider family, the outdoors is something that got me through.

I know there's a lot of truth here, but you added a lot of humor in there with it  I'm glad you are doing it out of the goodness of your heart for the rest of us that have to wait till Saturday to go out ha ha ha Oh, and good luck by the way!

FBI: Chicago passes New York as murder capital of U.S.
rugerla1 replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
We aren't, but I bet some people in Chicago are screaming "This is a great city, the media is distorting the facts <POP, POP, POP!> Oh that's just kids expressing themselves, they're not really trying to shoot us, they are products of their environment.." -
^^That is awesome, a hunter's first deer is a forever forged memory! I actually get excited for my friends when they kill a deer, not just my own harvest. Some people think we walk out in the woods at 9:30 while eating a sausage biscuit and playing Candy Crush, and the deer just walk out in a field and pose for us, and we use those big ole evil rifles and blow those poor little things away. They have no idea the time involved, the days not seeing anything (hot and cold days just sitting), or the respect and love we have for the animals. I know there are some idiots out there that make us all look bad, but for the most part, hunters/outdoorsmen are a nature loving group. A lot of good info in the above posts guys.

Welcome to TGO!

Sounds like a good weekend plan Slappy. Since I decided I would take a turkey, they haven't come in front of the stand, after a week straight of them being there every day lol. It surprises me how many people I know who will kill every buck they see and then complain the next year about only seeing does. Thinning out the does, will bring more and most of the time better bucks. I have no problem thinning out does, they are good eating and there are wayyyy more than enough around most areas in TN. Especially where I'm at. I'm ready to go now, the next 2 1/2 days are going to drag by, but before you know it, it will be time to get up and throw in the gear!
