  1. A friend of mine told me about this. They opened last weekend, but Grand opening is August 22 like you said. They had police trade in Mossberg 500 shotguns for $129 Saturday. He actually stumbled on a 590 that was mixed in with the 500’s and they gave it to him for $129 because that’s what it was marked. He shopped at the Chattanooga location before and loved the store. He said they have trapping equipment for those interested. He explained it as being like a Dicks Sporting Goods with out all the non outdoorsman stuff. Can’t wait to check it out myself. Maybe this Saturday I’ll have time to run by.
  2. Me too Shaun, he’d be tickled I’m sure. Looking like mid to high 60’s for lows with scattered storms still in the forecast for the weekend. Could be a really good chance for movement before and after storms move through.
  3. Sorry to hear this, continued prayers. Hope things get better soon!
  4. That’s a nice buck!!!
  5. I may or may not go out one morning or evening if I have something worth it on camera. A lot of people are really excited at the chance at a velvet deer. I myself don’t get too tore up over it. Don’t get me wrong I think the mounts look nice but I’d rather have a huge buck in hard horn than velvet. I am hoping that the temp stays low for others that hunt wether I do or not. I hope you get a big one KahrMan!
  6. Welcome to TGO!
  7. Very nice!!!
  8. Oh okay, yeah that’s a pretty good way, we don’t get up that direction very often. Sounds like you’ll probably be able to pop a few without doing anything. Unfortunately for you they’re coming up to live decoys, unfortunately for them, you know they’re coming. I hope you wear them out soon. Keep us up to date on your progress. Once you get your Savage dialed in, it’ll make short work of them. If we get up your direction anytime soon I’ll shoot you a message if you like.
  9. Yeah it sounds like you’ll get your chance to pop them without even calling them. Just hope you do before they get any calves (or more fawns). We just hunted a property last weekend where a couple had coyotes kill 4 Emu’s that they’d raised for 5 or 6 years. First evening out we didn’t have any luck but few nights later they called Luke and said they were back. He went out the following evening and was able to bust one. Crazy that the took down 4 of them Emu’s. I figured they’d whoop a yote but they were apparently more like pets. Or maybe there were more yotes than we think and they surrounded them one at a time. Either way, they are smart and work well together. What part of TN are you in?
  10. Thank you!
  11. Thank you!
  12. We both use Lucky Duck Revolt E-Caller. He’s brought a FoxPro CS24 along with us as well and it seems to be a very nice choice. Small and compact, and its in my plans to have one of them as well. We’ve been practicing with MFK mouth calls. I’m not comfortable enough with it yet to use in live action, too new to it. But I drive my wife crazy with it practicing lol
  13. Thank you Wingshooter!
  14. Here’s a short video from last weekend. Me and a few guys went out to call for the morning. @Luke E. brought his camera and tripod. This coyote came out directly down wind of Luke and I. Luckily he had the decoy activated on the call and we acted quickly. I don’t believe that coyote would have stood there but a second or two more being downwind but we made it work. At the end of the video when he said “Hey” I thought he saw another one and I was getting ready to pop another one if it came out. Had no idea he was gonna pick on my visor
  15. My most positive personal experience with lower cost lights has been Streamlight. Come with tape switch and have worked very well for me. My Surefire has worked great but more pricey for sure. Also I have a Primary Arms light with tape switch that is very bright and has held up great for the year I’ve had it. Not a lot of time as far as testing goes so don’t want to brag too much. But I’d say it will do well in the long run as well.
  16. My mom bought an attachment at Lowe’s that goes on the hose. It has a piece on the end that swivels different angles and extends about 6feet (ish). At first I told her that I doubted it would do the job but she asked me to try it on my house to see if it worked. I’ll be danged it worked very nicely. If there are branches and heavy stuff it may have trouble but it blew out years old clogs of leaves and had enough power to blow stuff over the edge of the gutter when you angled it the right way. I was really surprised.
  17. Welcome to the group!
  18. The velvet is the new growth for this year. They are not fully developed yet so still time to grow.
  19. It got pretty rough here in Smyrna for a while. Mostly rain, lighter wind, and tons of lightning right now. Trees down all over the place. But we got hammered by high speed wind about 30 minutes ago. Y’all be safe!
  20. I’m excited for you!!!

    Go Shoot

I need to get out myself but that’s pretty wild. I’ve never been at that range and it not been almost at capacity or full with people waiting to get on a lane. I bet that felt weird seeing all those empty lanes.
  22. Wow that looks great!!!
  23. Thanks for the tip, I’d never heard that about the drywall anchors so I’ve always just made sure to not dry fire any of my rimfire rifles.
  24. I forgot about Houston, that’s a dang good’n!
  25. Yes there are. This post reminds me its about time I get mine out of the safe and take it out to the range.
