  1. Do you typically shoot in the dark?  :)
  2. I prefer an all black Dawson rear sight with a red fiber optic front.
  3. Spiffy, what paint did you use?  Have you put it through any scratch/wear tests?
  4. Today would have been a good day to do a road trip to Whittacker's.
  5. Personally I would get the alloy version.  Of course I say that because I already have enough polymer guns.
  6. The dovetail just gives you a little more flexibility if you decide to change the site again in the future.
  7.   Ask 221Fireball.  He just had a dovetail put on his Springfield GI by someone over in Gallatin that did an excellent job.
  8.   Why join the full force when they can join the reserves and direct traffic at the county fair?  That duty is so much more rewarding and they can waive at their buddies going through the gate.
  9. Primus has some great songs for shooting videos.  Primus has some great songs period.
  10. Here is a video from last weekend if you want to see how NOT to shoot it.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0FzCY4Is_c&feature=youtu.be     Edit: swapped out the video for the final cut.
  11. Yeah, I blew through a lot of ammo last weekend on that stage.  I'm still up in the air regarding whether I'll make it.  I'd like to shoot it again.
  12.   And there goes the neighborhood!
  13. I was just gettimg ready to remind everyone about Dan Wesson. I love my PMG
  14. Par courses are typically setup so that most shooters will not put all targets down. But if you can suppress the stress and get close, you can actually come out with some very competitive times because a lot of good shooters freak out about the second buzzer.
  15. You guys are right.  Clearly outlined in the rule book:   Page 43:   All equipment should be so placed that, when wearing an open concealment garment with your arms extended at your sides and parallel to the ground, it can NOT been seen from the front, rear or sides. Your concealment garment should be practical for your environment and loose enough to allow easy movement. Competition only garments are prohibited. Competition only garments are defined as: vented or mesh vests that allow the firearm, holster, spare ammo or ammo carriers to be visible when standing normally, artificial stiffeners of any material (other than standard laundry starch) used in any location, use of chest pockets, specially-made pockets or any material inserted in pockets or around pockets to keep the pocket open for stowage of partial magazines after a reload. Garments that are considered “competition only” will incur an FTDR. See “Proper Magazine Retention” in the Glossary for further details.
  16. Yeah, that was probably a bad example.  There are some just like it though without the slot.  Or worst case I could sew the seam together.
  17. Soon it will actually warm up for good and we'll get those 85-90 degree mornings during the summer IDPA matches. Are full mesh shooting vests legal IDPA cover garments? Obviously you can see through the vest, but they do hang low enough to cover the pistol.
  18. I did my first classifier this weekend. dlmeadows has it right; practice at 15 and 25 yards. Those long shots ate my lunch.
  19. I told you they would find someway to link this back to gun control especially after king dildo's speech about how disappointed he is with the senate killing the gun control bill.
  20. Yeah, that's a little lighter than the 147 load we did.  I don't have the grains of our load in front of me, but it was a bit higher so that it would still cycle with stock springs.  I might have to pick up a different spring for my XD tactical and try some light loads.
  21. Can you be moving behind cover while doing the reload?  Let's say there is a cover wall in a transition from one shooting location to the next.
