  1. I hate to say it but most gun shops i go to are full of smart allecks. These are not the terms i would normally use but in case of mixed company. I cant understand why they have the elitist attitude because its been my experience that gun owners are goodly, helpful folks. There are exceptions, i frequent guns and leather often but only like to deal with denis, ben or lonnie. I have found some of the others terse and rude. I spend money there! I will never go to gun city ever again and probably neither will i go to rick useltons. I too have had issues at bass pro but not as bad as yours.
  2. I bought an unfired chinese at a show three months ago for 225.00. Some things to watch for, If its got a thirty round mag in it i steer clear, probably shot out or let get too hot. Tapco plastic stocks etc. bring down the value. I concur with the previous reply about pawn shops. I had several problems with yugos and their trigger groups also.last time i was in greenbriar he had four on the rack from 200, to 275.
  3. try numerich , they got a little of everything.

    Gun show

Went to goodmans show this weekend, would rather have gone to popes. It was kinda dead. I did pick up a maadi ak from pars though. It had a tapco plastic folding stock, tapco pistol grip and a scope bearing dust cover. I picked it up for 360.00 and went straight to hatchet. I was in luck they had the full original stock set for 50.00. took her home dressed her up and wow! Just like a russkie. I love vintage akm's. Ammos still higher than a cats back. Oh by the way thanks HeroGear and others for my century ar question. For those of you who havent been to winchester Tn. to see Hero's shop, your missin out. Anybody else hit goodmans?
  5. Not a ruger though, lol, nice pair! I love it when people still buy wheel guns. Best friend just bought a snubbie like that. He acts like hes found the holy grail.
  6. I got an e mail from century concerning their new ar type rifle. They are using their lower, with refurbished colt uppers. I did a little research and found some positive feed back. i can get the rifle for 599.00. transfer fee and background check is 35.00.I predominatly am familiar with ak's. Is this a good entry level ar to start with?
  7. yep, had one and traded it for a rifle. wish id never done it. Ill probably get another. very accurate handgun fits my hand almost perfect. I had the compact 9mm.it came with two mags one was short for concealment the other about an inch longer with a finger groove at the base. Tanfoglio is a well known gun in europe, used alot in competition. had good sights, quick target aquisition. The only dealers i know that carry them are greenbriar guns and leather and franklin gun shop. greenbriars cheaper. hope this helped.
  8. Definately the way to go for older guns. At one time I could get yugo sks for 89.00, shooter grade. Mosins are about 70.00 right now. Another benefit is recieving the monthlys from century, s.o.g., centerfire. These show what dealers pay and how much mark up. Most dealers are very reasonable but some..well lets just say its an eye opener.
  9. Beauty eh, good builds are hard to find.
  10. Not new to firearms, but just found this page. I love to shoot and have owned litterally every kind of firearm. I hold a C&R , but have slowed down there as my interest has returned to more modern weaponry. A pleasure to find some locals who like what I like.
