When I hired in to my company, I took a three dollar an hour pay cut. I did this because they offered me benefits such as a retirement, which my old job only had 401k. I know that the 401k system will never be a stable system, im no gambler. I also dont like to think of wall street handling my future. My new company has a thing called pay progression. It says that I start at x amount and it takes me four years to top out. Bear in mind now that Im doing the same jobs as the other workers just at a lower rate of pay. Im still hanging in there because Im also getting vested in a retirement fund while I wait. I top out finally , after four years, and Ive put in another six. At fifteen I would have been fully vested in my pension . Last year the company announced that they were cutting pensions by 60% for those not fully vested. Even though the pension fund is into the trillions of dollars congress past a bill that said they could take it so they did. I tell myself that something is better than nothing, I got a good job. My union sues the company over the pension but we dont expect any real results. I also realistically cant leave. While working here i found out im borderline diabetic so a 40 year old diabetic is not sought after as much as thirty year old healthy man was. So I keep on working and making money for the company and so doing make money for myself. I m going to brag a little here i have recieved awards yearly for my work so im not lazy or spoiled, I do my job. We got the new letter last week. They are taking whats left of my pension and placing it in a damned 401k. I have no choice about it, the wall street gets my future to play with. Thats how companies think and everyone says the government is turning socialist. So the only benefit we have left that separates us from a sweat shop, third world type job is our salary which isnt as much as most folks think, and the freaking american people are wanting to take that away, for what? The poor companies cant make out because of the evil union, dont you beleive it!

Says who, you? What if I thought that 45 dollars was too much to pay an automechanic. I know a lot of those who cant read and quit school in the tenth grade. I see a lot of degrees where I work but they can barely tie their shoes. That unskilled labor is harder than most think it is, when I got hired there were 2,700 applicants and they hired 21 of us. I challenge you this look and see how much wall street donated to Obama and then Mcain. Im sure theres a link here somewheres. Check out how much Chevy gave the Dems. IT jobs here are going to India at an alarming rate.Maybe they should make a union.

Generic figure of speech gleamed from some obscure movie somwhere. No offense intended, i try not to be irate or demeaning on forums. I dont like it when others do it so i dont. Golden rule and all that. Just trying to state a point. How com when a guy starts a business up doing title loans or check advance hes an entreprenuer, and every body applauds. A guy starts a bank making money off of lending your money and hes a guru, same with a stock broker who gambles your savings or a lawyer who generally lies for a living thats acceptable, but a blue collar guy trying to look out for his future when his back is gone or his knees dont work well thats just horrible. I am a member of a union, we do not make 70 dollars an hour. I do get insurance, which i pay highly for. Nissan and all the jap plants pay what they pay because they dont want their plants to organize. Having worked in manufactoring for close to 28 years with and without representation, i have to say that it is better working for a plant with a union. I dont have to worry about nepetism, or having to do unsafe tasks. They are not perfect but they are needed. The big three are in trouble for the same reason wall street is.GREED, they took to much without putting anything back. My great grand dad used to tell us stories about the unsafe conditions for workers, the fact that if they didnt want to pay you they just didnt. You want sweat shops like in third world countries, will that make us a stronger nation. My union dollar spends just as well as any other. I pay the plumber and the gas man just like anyone else. You want someone to blame, blame the CEO s who are taking your money and laughing all the way to their swiss bank accounts.

I had an interesting discussion with one of the ethnic Obama supporters, at lunch. He was gloating over the victory and I was trying my best to avoid conversation. He then went on to tell a co worker that his shotgun would be safe, Barack didnt want his hunting weapons. I couldnt help myself and asked him what this was based on, I know shoulda just ignored him. I brought up his voting record and stated flatly that he was wrong. He then attacked me personally of course and said that no body needs a gun that will shoot that many times. I then told him that there was the problem between his beliefs and mine, No body should decide what I need and what I dont. I pay my bills, my taxes, im not a criminal and who the hell was he to decide what i can or cant have. He then launched into the plight of the black community and the gun issues in the hood, to which I replied "ban rap music". We as a people are going to have to learn to stand up and stick together. We are the weakest when we are divided, these next four years are going to be trying for all, but its high time we organized and formed a group as strong or stronger than any they can bring.

When you get hit by a mexican and your uninsured motorist insurance runs out, but your still crippled and cant work. Do you really believe that your church, or friends and neighbors are gonna keep you going out of benevolence? You get cancer and its treatable but your insurance caps whos there.Lets say you get well but now whos gonna insure you. I know there are deadbeats and a lot of what i pay in gets wasted. But for every deadbeat there is a vet, or older american or even a child that gets some sort of help. I dont have a problem with that. There is no conservative case for obama. He is the black mans candidate, the dreamers dream. His lack of anything will not stop the African Americans from voting for him. The mortgage companies were being pushed for better loans for the lower classes.Instead of coming up with something fair they chose to take the route of the payday loan companies. the brokers knew at the time these folks couldnt afford the loans after the rates hiked. They told everyone that when that time came they could refinance to a lower rate. This obviously didnt happen and forclosure started. Greed will kill this country long before communism or socialism or facism. They never should have deregulated Wall Street. You cant trust an alcoholic to watch the bar.

Mosins are good rifles and I have owned at least twenty or more. The M-44's are indeed cheap and the ammo is too. A lot of 44's are not that accurate at first and some will never get there. The optics issue is a biggie, there just arent alot of ways to mount a scope on the little carbine to my liking. the most effective I have tried is set up like the scout rifles with the scope forward of the receiver on the iron sight housing. Quite a few 44"s were counter bored and that affects the rifles accuracy. The rifle was also designed to fire with the bayonet out. I had to file on every 44 ive owned to get it in the black at 100 yards which in our state is just what i feel a hunting rifle should do. For plinking id get the mosin for hunting id go with the lever gun. Also if you go for the old russkie, think about the model 38, same system without the bayonet, same size too.

one thing I hate is when a dealer takes the extra mag from the pistol case and sells it separate. You know the ziplok baggy with the sharpie writing. If it came from the maker with two I want two. Same with the century AKs we see the indentions on the battered cardboard where is the second mag? Another thing and this is me...if i see a handgun at the show selling for 300 and go to the shop and the same thing is 450, i feel like im getting bent over. I understand profit but the vender at the show is making money or he wouldnt be selling there. Id spend 350 to buy it local but as i said sometimes it obvious that its not a very good deal.
