  1. "Why don't you just fire up three chainsaws to juggle?"   LOL good one hed be better off ...   just remember, when you get served w papers, she made her mind up 6 mos prior to u getting served, that she would toss the towel in. She will have cleaned out the bank and more. Your post bragging about cutting her off, will turn into her irrefutable claim of verbal and mental cruelty, in her divorce complaint, that she'll file first...........If I were you I'd kiss and make up before this whole thread becomes an exhibit and evidence in her divorce suit....After all she will snatch the computer while your busy telling us  about the doghouse <efg>   :ugh:     On a side note, i think the only males that were ever quasi successful in changing the rules of engagement with women were the taliban. They used sticks rocks and guns.Over and over and over, I'd seriously reconsider your options....
  2. I always keep in mind the simple fact that elected officials always tend to react to whats in their face, not whats on the horizon.I dont think well see an EO pop in a law that would create mass revolt.Planning for the worst and praying for the best is one way of dealing with our present "cough" administration.I concur w the equilibrium concept.makes complete sense. On another note, maybe the prices are simply high because the sellers know they can get away with it.supply and demand.I am surprised magpul and a few other mfgs weren't ready for a big rush.....There was word a few months back that there was going to be a shortage of 40 sw ammo, primers pistols and the like due to a huge order placed by DHS. I saw that shortage creep in slightly but never thought the spectrum of shops would be cleared of all of their black rifles, and ammo...at prices no one could imagine.Within 2 weeks. There was no benefit to those getting massacred in CT....only profit for the select few. I wonder what'll end up at this 1st quarters gun shows...and how the pricing will be...
  3. The FCC kicked em off the grid a while back amazing enough Jammers got hot and heavy @ 6 years ago. They were sold heavily overseas for various use as their laws are way diff then ours and were never deemed illegal, Europe is funny as theres no such thing as illegal intercepts or jams in many countries where bugging is rampant. A lot of folks were on the prowl to sell the Jammers as both Jammers and countermeasures to help neutralize  IED's and the like. They do work, were inexpensive and they took the same path as GPS Jammers...banished forever from the masses in the US. I saw someone demo a cell jammer near a coffee house that was close to a school prior to them being banished. Seeing the students getting up in unison holding white macbooks doing the i lost my signal walk was funny to watch, especially when the jam would occur about every 10 mins...It was like a flash mob before  flash mob was created Thanks for the post sam!
  4. Thanks great info. Especially the extractor part.Is the cleaning formula what they called eds red or reds formula ??
  5. It's not an issue between me and dept of revenue.its an issue of being quoted one thing, coming down to get the quoted item and being given a different price. From what was quoted, I guess this forum has to pay tax on its paid memberships....I recently picked up a Glock from a lgs .I got quoted a price showed up,paid the price I was quoted n left simple. Too bad armory couldn't do the same.

  7. I love the sheer black and white message from this shop w regard to the AR Mag shortage, enjoy: http://www.urbanertslings.com/twopihaform4.html
  8. Have found a load of variable opinions on this topic but figured we would have some folks here w plenty of hands on 1911 experience that could answer and discuss some of the items i posted below As we all know, any new firearm should be cleaned before use.We all expect any firearm we buy new to work fluidly within reason.Ive learned from elders and experience to work a machine a certain way to allow for parts to "become friendly" so operation becomes smoother with time, and the product has a longer life expectancy. Heres some questions Ive pondered on 1911's.FWIW Old Marine Corps standards pretty much had one just keeping the old 70's clean and oiled ready to go while maintaining accuracy for 25 feet( if that) lol..The Marine Corps always seemed to get army hand downs but thats another discussion...   For our better authorities: Besides reading the manual on the 1911,what are the key lubrication areas to always hit on a 1911 Whats your favorite grease to use on a new 1911 Whats your fav oil to use on a new 1911? Are you using the newer synthetics or other non petroleum based oils on your 1911? What specific type of round,if any, that  you would use in a new 1911 and do you switch to something else after say 500 rounds? Do you tweak and use stock mags or immediately go out for Chip or Wilson mags? Is polishing the ramp mandatory in your new 1911?( even if not using hollow points?) Are there any parts to replace automatically because more than likely the stock one is junk ?IE MIM parts or slide stops etc. In summary what do you do  to a 1911 that will enable you to be confident in it, to where you can say its broken in and running fine?   Thanks in advance!
  9. Hypothetically speaking,IF I owned a range,AND if i offered all of the benefactors here a membership at "my range" for one price, and when you got to "my range" and I charged every benefactor almost 100 more, then what i originally quoted, the bitching would go on for over 1000 posts to the point of flaming ad nauseum. I watch guys waste time raging over 50 cents on ammo.....but spend 100.00 a week on smokes..the rage wouldn't end for a long time.   I didn't initially use the words elitist to characterize paid annual members, someone else did. Someone else also mentioned at that price one is literally paying to be part of a better "crowd".Well thats elitist,or holier than thou by virtue....   For those that are paid members great! Good things happen for a reason. If youre happy with what you paid for, like most are great!  I can afford the annual, I even pitched in at their grand opening buying some odds and ends in good faith from their guest vendors...and have paid to shoot there a handful of times entertaining guests from out of town... 400 is still high imho, free coffee or not...   I support our hobby,TN shooters and 2nd amendment rights like anyone else, and anyone promoting it if need be, even if its a place I don't personally care for,anymore,...I just don't appreciate being enticed on changed pretenses..kinda like one agency inviting guys in to check barrel lengths where they come in w a "self defense breacher" and leave empty handed while the warrants getting typed...   If anyone still cant understand the reason for my complaint pls send me 75.00 for a Nitron coated 1911 limited edition TGO tactical paper clip that will fix all shooting problems....once i hit the 750.00 mark ill announce that we've discontinued the clip because of boogedy bogey issues ....  side note:( Thanks FIST you got it !)
  10. Ive got the XD 40 sub c and an an xds 45. I enjoy both, the sub c 40 was my first SA, its comfortable and has worked as a backup for me.Always worked it at the range with both hands in different positions, worked like a champ, flawlessly.Great little pistol! But,I dont think you'd regret it     The xds 45 is a whole diff animal....dont base one on the other...
  11. Sux when someone gets you in for one price then pulls the rug out once ya show up....at least they made 100 plus a refund on the yanked deal no local gs would be that nice in spite of the cruddy power play dicks made.....
  12. wow, absolutely horrible... i laughed so hard that i almost sprayed coffee all over my keyboard.......i think we saw that guy on a you tube video w fps Russia guy was chasing him w a flaming roman candle or something.Next time I open photoshop ill have a new base photo to do paste up stuff on lol anyhow, here's the point, again, when someone offers something for 1 price, and you show up, and get hit w another it gets a little annoying.I understand the value of a 5000 dollar 1911,and yeah i did see a customer walk into a sales gauntlet and leave disgusted because he asked me where else he could rent and shoot w his family while i was in the parking lot of the same place... I imagine 400 may suit some, the elitist, self entitled feeling, may be warm and fuzzy but don't ask me to be a member for one fee and jack it up to another.Again same point.I think its a crummy way of doing business.Yeah the place is nice n clean, looks good for the ladies, but it was touted as a hey yall wait till we open this place your gonna love it....and it'll cost this. same thing again.  One would figure that a large high volume place would have better pricing on range use.. guess i was wrong about that. All in all ill keep my dues paid at "the holler" and the other little place that appreciates their paying customers...and maintains the good relationship most of us truly appreciate....I now know the reason the horse statue is running away from the big place towards franklin.......im poppin smoke l8tr
  13. My point is when someone offers a somewhat fair price for something then it gets jacked up 75 bucks in less than 3 mos it gets annoying. I remember when useltons opened, I couldnt do a year at 1k either but found other sources.I also bore witness to customers fleeing the high dollar range when they went in asking to shoot for the first time and started getting racked into buying a 5 k dollar 1911. Useltons shop is closed.. they had,(past tense) the nicest range..but pricing and Cust svc ran everyone off. Relief is a wonderful thing...bait n jack isn't.
  14. Your right theres nothing that says I have to shoot there. 2 months ago there wasn't much room for profit on new gun sales. But now the prices are above map and retail.w every black rifle gone, W supplies at an all time low. Enjoying firearms should be affordable.I was told ranges are built to support the shop and vice versa. I understand operating for a profit,vs turning something into a neccessary evil. Funny how people get mad at cops for writing tickets but bitch when theres not enough cops to catch the guy that victimized them....If I owned a range and store that just sold more in two weeks than they normally would all year , I'd think hard about what I would do to keep my customers and not drive em away after the sales blitz
  15. I don't know what the exact law is w regard to organizations, but, I understand a non profit not collecting tax, but being taxed to prepay shooting on a range I don't get. Either way am I supposed to believe I'm taxed on breathing powder filled air ? or am I paying tax for taking up size 12 shoe filled real estate for 1 hourvor less. Either way 400 bucks is a big hit. I've seen guys bitch like hell near tantrum about paying a buck more for their annual box of ammo. Other ranges within 50 miles of nashvegas are at half of that....400 for a year makes as much sense as paying 50 bucks for a pmag....ptooey..
  16. I have other paid memberships in TN where we don't pay tax.....hint 16 lanes...w full retail priced stock.
  17. If you buy a membership to a club,or in this case a range, when did it become taxable????over 400 bucks for one year...I passed That's just insane.and u know where I went....pissed me off like these shops aren't cleaning house already w high prices and more. I'll give my kid a red ryder to plink cat turds with before swallowing that one... Rant mode off I guess ill just get a heavier jacket n head to the "holler"
  18. Amen Sam,incredible account..
  19. There is a way to fund school resource officers. Its called non violent offender monitoring. It can save a county 1.5 million per year when used effectively.
  20. Under the executive order, guns convicted of a crime would be melted down and turned into speculums and other probing devices for use by the TSA at airport security checkpoints.   So kel tec will re tool to produce a tsa approved assmaster 1000 ??? LOL
  21. i thought someone might enjoy that, its another reason i dumped verizon years ago.  ;)
  22. when your product comes in, pay by check using this format.Tell them we dont write checks the way everyone else does..
  23. what some will do for dope never ceases to amaze me LOL good call dolomite..
  24. we had it here in nashville but due to budget cutbacks, school resource officers were re purposed for something more important......cough....
  25. his story was plausible for the first few sentences after that it wreaked of foreigner or gypsy
