  1. Wish I could have been there, Joe. Stage designs look good. I hope to attend a match soon. -DP
  2. Yep, match is tomorrow night, the 14th.  New shooters, please be there at 6:15 to pay the match fee, collect your scoresheet and then attend the new shooter briefing at 6:30.   -oarsman
  3. Thanks for the feedback, netmindr.  It was good to have you, and we look forward to seeing you next time.  There's another mover we use, and I think you might like that one.  It gets shot less.   ;)   Big K, that's true, dropped and offset holsters are not permitted.  We don't check guns in the IDPA box for size, but occasionally will use the box in a stage, so it must fit.  We don't chronograph ammo.  Hope to see you at an upcoming match.  My name is David and my co-match director is Mick.   Hognut, thanks for fielding the earlier questions.   -oarsman
  4. Thanks for posting this, Jim. Haven't seen you in a while...hope you can come.
  5. That was a very loud torch.
  6. The scores have been emailed.  Check yer inbox...
  7. Hey guys, I'm looking forward to seeing you all tonight. One change in tonight's stage lineup. We will not be doing the third stage in low light. I'm expecting a fair number of new shooters this evening, and after discussing it with range management, we've decided to leave the lights on. It will still be a challenging stage! David
  8. Jim, sometimes match directors have to make their own stipulations about a stage to facilitate safety or fairness; these may not be explicitly covered in the rule book. The pasters thing was an example of this. Having said this, I should have created a barrier that shooters could not advance past on that stage. It would have eliminated the pasters issue as well as prevented people from shooting the wall, which happened twice last night. Thanks again for helping to score!
  9. Thanks for getting this out, Jim, especially with me sending them to you last minute! See you tonight.
  10. Thanks for the positive feedback, guys! It's a pleasure to design courses of fire for enthusiastic shooters. I'm enjoying it as much as you guys, and I really appreciate Nashville Armory for letting us have the match at their outstanding facility, and for not complaining when we run late from time to time.
  11. I'll be there, obviously.. I can't post the COF from here, but I can tell you we have a stage where you fight your way out of a restaurant bathroom, and another where you shoot most of the targets while retreating and changing directions. The third stage requires all shots to be made with your weak hand. It will be challenging! Hope to see you tonight.
  12. You're quite welcome, and I'm very happy to hear everyone had a good time.  I especially enjoyed seeing a revolver shooter do so well.  I've promised some wheelgun competition for Jim, but I can't come close to reloading like he does! See you guys on the 23rd.
  13. Lately we've had 15 to 20. We got in four stages the last couple of matches.
  14. The scores were emailed yesterday.  Let me know if you did not receive them.
  15. Heh.  Believe me, I understand the urge to see those scores right away.  IDPA folks are competitive people and want to see how they stack up. I just need to get those score sheets from Mick this weekend and I'll type them up right away.  Stay tuned...
  16. Or, I may play around with posting the scores to the new IDPA website.
  17. Unfortunately, the business trip that caused me to miss the match will have me out of town the rest of the week. I'll have to obtain the scoresheets after I return, so it's going to be awhile before I post scores this time. Sorry, folks. I hope you enjoyed the match. I will email the scores when I'm done. -David
  18. I've ordered primers, bullets and powder from them several times over the last few years.  I've always had a good experience with them, and their prices are competitive.
  19. Yep, second and fourth Tuesday of every month.  This upcoming match (the 12th) I've got some stages to help all the new shooters we're hosting learn the difference between tactical sequence and tactical priority.  There's also going to be some one-handed shooting and possible kneeling. -DP
  20. Jim, thanks for the kind words.  Thanks to you and your wife for helping out, especially with cleanup at the end of the match.  I bet the range staff is appreciative as well.  I hope to see you in two weeks.   -David
  21. The scores are done and have been sent.  If you didn't receive them, let me know.  We're now up to 44 people who have participated at least once in the first three matches!   See you guys at the next one— -David
  22. It also depends on if everybody circled their division. I've been having to track that down for a few shooters the first two matches, which delays scoring by a day or two. For anyone reading this: if you don't know your division, read the rulebook or ask an experienced shooter to help you. Do not leave it blank. I'll certainly help you if I can. For those who have been classified, please also circle your class. I need this on every week's scoresheet, as I don't know when people are switching which gun they're using. Thanks!
  23. Gdaddy, I'll be picking up the scoresheets from Darryl tomorrow afternoon. I've been out of town and will get to them when I can. Normally there won't be such a delay.
  24. DMark, please voice your opinion about the match fee to range management directly. I've had that conversation with them more than once. I've mentioned that Atlanta matches are all $15, with some charging $10 for range members. Ultimately, I support NA's policies. They have been gracious to allow us to use their facility, and to let me run the matches pretty much the way I want to.
