  1. It's Nashville Armory IDPA night! April 23rd - 6:45 PM. Shooting starts at 7:00. This is great "practice" for next weeks IDPA classification at the Armory! For all beginners and new shooters to the Nashville Armory you'll want to be there before hand (6:15 - 6:30) to watch the mandatory range safety video and get the IDPA safety brief.   COF: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12417854/20130423_NA_IDPA_Stages.pdf   Retreat to Low Cover   Description: Starting from P1 with hands relaxed at your sides, on the buzzer draw and engage target T1-T3 with two rounds each while retreating. 2.   I hope it's a 10 gage! She says she loves those! :-)
  3.   That's funny we've shot a bunch of times together, you've given me all kinds of advice, all kinds of books to read... ... and I'm still slow! :-) When do the skilz kick in!!! J/K I agree, shooting with MCTS is great and I really did get a hell of a lot faster AND more accurate under their tutelage. Thanks again to Rick, Michael and Norma!!
  4. Tish's parents are in town so we won't be able to make this one, but man that IS a great idea, just shoot BOTH! Good luck guys and have fun! Can't wait to see the videos!
  5.   Nice shooting Andy... ... and you won stage 3 overall congratz! (if I could have been just a little cleaner :-) ) Again great shooting, we had a great squad I can't wait for the next one! (...time to dry fire)
  6. Bunch more videos, I have them by name and stage right now. (And don't forget our new sponsor!! King Bullet Proof Holsters... what they make up for with hard outer armor, they lack in belt retention!!)   https://www.youtube.com/user/PowerGroupFeed
  7. Great shoot, weather was awesome. I actually remembered to take videos. I got a little bit of everything from my squad, the best we got was from King. What a run he had, he really burned it up! I'll post more video's later but you have to see King do it in style! Thanks again Robert for hosting another great match at Gallatin Gun Club! And thanks to the S.O.'s for keeping us honest... Yes I mean you HOGNUT!   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l32AEQIDpsg&feature=youtu.be
  8.   Johnny Dangerously! (1984)
  9.   Thanks for posting the video! LOVE the wide angle and the picture from above. I HAVE to get one. (Now all I need to do is work on my speed and accuracy!! :-) )
  10. I love shooting the bay 4 kill house at Gallatin! BikerTrash you should certainly come, it's a great club. Now I wonder what Robert has planned for us this time! Tish and I will see you all there.
  11. I'm not afraid to share.... (especially when the stages are revolver neutral!!!)   Scores: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12417854/NA_IDPA_Scores20130409.pdf   Great match last night. It seemed to run smoothly, and just flowed right along. It was over before it started as time seemed to evaporate. Four great stages. The first one started off at the dentist. I liked the sideways no shoots and the barrels obscuring the view on portions of the hallways (screwing up everyone's tac-loads.) I loved stages with options like Distance vs. Time. I took the distance and it worked out well. D.J. took the (short) option and edged me by less than a second and half, winning the stage! The 2013-008 stage was also cool and I got to take the prone position option. I learned (or should say relearned) that your soft cap can get in the way when you're shooting at an up angle. Surprisingly, my on the ground speedload went well and I was able to make good time even with the odd positioning. All that earned me a second (very distance) place overall, almost 20 seconds behind David... ... I'll work on it!   Thanks again David and Mick for putting it on and everyone for pitching in.   See you all at the next one!
  12.   It was good to meet you and hope to see you at the next one!
  13.   That would be great. I'd love to see more. it's nice to look back at the ones from January and compare!
  14. I've got the "load from the barrel" stage for two and our SO on the dualing tree! (I think D.J. has some others he's posting when he feels like it... :-) )   Jim http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCp9aRT6oKs   D.J. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=hzRzuTt2GPs   DUAL!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=dm-re57M_2c
  15. It's Nashville Armory IDPA night! April 9th - 6:45 PM. Shooting starts at 7:00. For all beginners and new shooters to the Nashville Armory you'll want to be there before hand (6:15 - 6:30) to watch the mandatory range safety video and get the IDPA safety brief.   COF Link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12417854/20130409_NA_IDPAStages.pdf   At the Dentist   Scenario: While waiting for your kids to have their teeth cleaned, hoodlums break in with the intent of extracting their gold llings and leaving no witnesses. Alerted by your kids’ screams, you drop your out-ofdate magazine and send the precious metal thieves to the pearly gates before any damage is done to your kids’ pearly whites. Description: Starting position is seated at P1, holding a magazine. On the buzzer, turn fully around, draw and engage T1 from P2 with two rounds.   2013-008   Advance to P3 and engage T2-T3 with two rounds each. While in the corridor at P4, using the barrels as cover, engage T4 before finishing o T5-T6 from P5.   Description: Starting position is at P1, hands relaxed by shooter’s sides. At the buzzer, draw and engage T1-T2 with three rounds each. Move to P2 and engage T3. Kneeling at P3, engage T4-T5 from between the barrels.   Distance vs. Time   Description: There are two ways to run this stage. The rst will require longer shots but require less time if the shooter is accurate. The second requires more distance to travel but has easier, shorter shots.   Option 1: At the buzzer, draw and engage T1 from the window with two rounds. Then engage T2-T3 from cover. Advance to P2 and engage T4 from the barricade. Advance to P3 and engage T5-T6.   Option 2: At the buzzer, draw and engage T1-T2 (indicated with blue numbers) with two rounds each. Advance to P2 and engage T3 from the barricade. Move to alternate P3 and engage T4-T5. Advance to the barrels and engage remaining target T6.   Tac Sequence Accuracy   Description: Shooter to pre-load all magazines to six rounds only. Stage is not limited, but needing a make-up shot will require an extra reload! Starting position is behind the barrel, hands relaxed by shooter’s sides. At the buzzer, draw and engage targets in tactical sequence. Shooter may not move from behind the barrel.
  16. Great match guys. Nice to break out of my IDPA shell and experience an "outlaw" match. LOTS to shoot at and LOTS of reloads, no cover, no concealment... I'll find out soon enough just how much it helped, if any, to approach the shooting differently. It was interesting to shoot with Tish in a different squad too. I learned that if you film yourself you can catch some bad habits but most importantly you can see all the good ones! I do need to work on my speed on target transition and wasted movement on the reload. I did see a pretty relaxed almost upright shooting stance, yet still some urgency moving position to position without being lazy. Can't wait till the next one! Thanks again MCTS for the awesome match and the effort it takes to run it!!!
  17. Here it is! The perfect 44 carbine.... Or this...
  18. Now, lets look at the ROUND GUNS and see where the 10mm fits in? (I think I'll keep my S&W Model 29 for now....:-) ) I can switch back and forth from special to magnum too!!! What a concept!
  19. Match was great, I really enjoyed it. Flubbed the first stage but it seems I always do. I liked the change up from the 2 rounds per target to 3 on stage three, helped me not get locked into one pattern and the "far" first target was nice too. Had a lot of fun and enjoyed the company, thanks all!
  20. Nashville Armory IDPA night is upon us! March 26th - 6:45 PM. Shooting starts at 7:00! For all beginners and new shooters to the Nashville Armory you'll want to be there before hand (6:15 - 6:30) to watch the mandatory range safety video and get the IDPA safety brief.   COF: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12417854/IDPA_COF_20120326.pdf   Description: Starting position is at P1, hands relaxed by shooter’s side. At the buzzer, draw and engage T1-T2 with two rounds each from the left side of the barrels. While moving to P2, engage T3-T4. From P2, engage T5-T6. ONLY T4 may be re-engaged from cover.   Description: Starting position is at P1, hands relaxed by shooter’s side. At the buzzer, draw and engage T1-T2 with two rounds each. Move to P2 and engage T3-T4. Move to P3 and engage T5. Advance to P4 and engage T6 from the left side of the barrels.   Description: Starting position is at P1, hands relaxed by shooter’s side. At the buzzer, draw and engage T1 with THREE rounds from either side of barricade. Advance to P2 and engage remaining targets with three rounds each, slicing the pie. Shooter MUST treat the edge of the window as cover. (Do not stand directly in front of window.)
  21. Awesome shoot! The weather really did turn out perfect and we got in all 7 stages. Tish and I got to score and I even got a chance to run the clock! I had one strong stage, stage 5. Two steel targets at distance, then a shoot and advance vertically up the field shooting 14 rounds. With no targets obscured, it was really an exercise in cover and 'shoot and move.' The simplicity worked for me as did my two reloads and I almost went under twenty seconds (I did see the fasted time was just over 10!) Stage 2 is where I took it the worst, with 12 potential targets and some moving stuff... I didn't even SEE one of the targets from the window... TOTAL mental laps. Had a great squad though, thanks to Robert for keeping it running smoothly and our squad mates for ALL pitching in. Michael and Chip thanks for the garment hook up and of course MCTS for another well run match. We'll see you all at the next one!

  23. Weather looks great for this one! 70!! I guess I'll only need one hand warmer :-) .... Can't wait to shoot 5 (or more) stages!
  24. Tish and I will be there!
  25. Awesome day! Don't know how... weather sucked, roads sucked and ultimately... I sucked.. BUT I had a great time. It shows why I like climate controlled environments. I forgot about how much of your manual dexterity you loose in low temps. My hands refused to work! Nice to finally get to Dixon and see the setup. Tish and I are now members!! (True be told I think the membership fee is really just a parking fee!! :pleased: ) All kidding aside we had a great time, thanks to Micheal for putting it on and for Rick and Rick "the Wheel" for keeping us safe and for the stage advise/help... we really need the reinforcement! See you guys on the 16th! DRY-FIRE DRY-FIRE DRY-FIRE!!!
