5 guns that you need to own once in your life.
MrNobody replied to Jasongar8's topic in General Chat
1) .44 Magnum revolver 2) Some sort of big bore rifle maybe one of these http://www.vigilancerifles.com/Photo_Albm.php 3) Derringer 4) Tec-9 5) M4 I picked my five strictly for shooting the breeze purposes. Not practicality, these are the guns that to me are unique to bring to the range, fun to talk about, stuff like that. I really didn't put much thought into it. -
I searched the site and I found it lacking in one category: KILLDOZER. I just found out about this a week ago and have been fascinated with it ever since. One man builds a bullet proof bulldozer and careens through the town. No one was hurt (except for him) He spent a year and a half designing this thing and did over 7 million dollars worth of damage. Wikipedia entry on the legend http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvin_Heemeyer Youtube video with audio tapes of Marvin [ame] [/ame]Pictures (you gotta see this thing) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v155/loanwolfe_tinkerer/Killdozer.jpg Enjoy.

I wasn't sure where to post this but I feel it should be on every gun forum. I'm sure most of you have seen this or parts of this. This is a site that has compiled all of the legendary "Mall Ninja" posts. If you have a few minutes read through them they will blow your mind http://lonelymachines.org/mall-ninjas/ Enjoy!

Garand, I second Mark@Sea

So this last weekend I went to the Gun Rights Policy Conference hosted by the Second Amendment Foundation and quite a few other pro gun organizations. It was great to learn about our rights being defended ALL across these United States. Needless to say almost 98% of the people there were packing (myself included) and some were packing BIG, .44 mags, .460 and the big nasty .500! Arizona (where it was held) is an open carry state. I talked to a few of the guys and most were carrying for show and said that would never be there go to for self defense but quite a few guys said they carried there 44 magnum everyday. What do you guys think about this? Do you know anyone that carries that big or bigger? Responsible, Irresponsible? Hypothetical: If you shot someone with a S&W .500 would you be tried different? Would they paint you as a crazy? I would love to hear stories and opinions on carrying hand cannons.

I would love a Kidd trigger in mine, but I third rimfirecentral is a great resource.

I don't know think it will ever overtake the .357

Very jealous, that's been my day dream rifle for awhile now.

Remington 870, 18 inch barrel. If someones in my castle I want them to go down the first time I click.

Carry as big as your comfortable with. I carry a Glock 23. My friend carrys a full size 1911 with a ten round extended magazine another carries a Kel-Tec, it's all what you are comfortable with. For home defense my personal pick is the Remington 870. You seem like you picked a winner for a pistol because YOU liked how it felt in your hand. I second Tnshooter83 just go shoot that thing, enjoy it. Learn that trigger. Pick up a book on tactical shooting (my personal favorite is Tactical Pistol by Gabe Suarez) or take a defensive pistol class. Remember when S.H.T.F. you will not rise to the occasion you will sink to your training.

IDPA - Will It Get You Killed?
MrNobody replied to Cruel Hand Luke's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I'd just like to try it and I can't see how putting rounds on target could hurt you. -
I either find a great deal or I'm pissed about the money I spent at the gate and walk with nothing. It's a crap shoot

I love my mosin, I got it for 40 bucks. I always tell myself I'm going to make into a poor mans scout rifle (a la Jeff Cooper) but then I just end up spending my mad money on another gun. One day she will get the sport treatment.

I have been looking at a CR license for sometime. I think it would be awesome to be able to have a mosin nagent shipped to my door! I have snooped around on the internet and have found the form to send in and have read about the discipline of keeping a bound book. My questions involve the rest of my collection that is NOT C&R. Do I need to list that in the bound book? I know I am not supposed to sell for profit that the license is designed to help me augment my collection but what if I want to sell something to get something else? I'm not a rich man but I got gun fever real bad and most of the time getting a new gun means selling an old one. Can someone help me decipher if this is a good idea for me. Tell me what it looks like to have a license and the pros and cons of owning one. I would appreciate it.
