  1. This is my answer too !!!! Kimbers have had too many problems from all my friends making the mistake of buying them and finding it out later , and Beretta runs good but have way too many parts in my opinion. I think glowdotGlock hit the nail on the head for his answer . But if you just REALLY want a 1911 then get a SPringfield Armory Mil-Spec or a GI model . I have the Mil-Spec and it runs GREAT !
  2. Are these tumblers any good ? I am just getting started and have everything except a tumbler. One of these comes with the sifter and media and polish . The other is just the tumbler . Both have "Mid South" labels on them but I dont know who makes them for Midsouth. Any comments on the quality of these ?    http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item.asp?sku=00038502024   http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item.asp?sku=00038502022
  3. I would get a Springfield 1911. Just a base model Mil-Spec . If you really want a true 1911 then stay away from the Sig and the S&W since the have the external extractors and are not like the original designed extractors on 1911's . Just my opinion
  4. I have the Hornady Press and bought Lee Carbide dies. Anyone know how to explain how to set this up in plain english ? I watched a couple of youtube videos. I am kinda confused on how to "set" the dies to where the seat the bullet and crimp it at the right depth and all that . The directions are kinda vague and I have screaming kids running throughout my house
  5. You hit the nail on the head . This is my thoughts exactly especially with having to use a  roll pin punch and hammer  on the M&P .
  6. I can't believe the G42 is hard to find . The majority of the people I have read and heard from hated it being chambered in the .380 cartridge. Plus it's reliability seems to be hit and miss so far .
  7. YEs it's true . I am here and the roads are white. I turned on my "work" radio and the guys/gals at work are having a terrible time . Glad I'm off today
  8. I hear a lot of good stuff about the Harbor Freight tumblers and brass cleaners but I thought most stuff at that store was chineese crap . So they are worth buying ?
  9. Awesome thread , thanks graycrait  . I wonder why the slide lock spring on his  G30 was breaking so much on him ?
  10. I'm new to this too . I just got everything except a tumbler and need help on a tumbler for the " beginner" .
  11. UPDATE : I just got all my things except the brass tumbler. What brand do you guys use for pistol powder ?  What brand and type ? What I will be doing is making practice shooting rounds .
  12. That keeps money in your pocket !
  13. Bottom line is this : If you are having problems with a driver , swallow your pride and pull over to the side of the road and let the "HARM" go away and never go in "HARM's" way .
  14. Ok , I thought the problem started with the sidewalk passing
  15. Who was driving up on the sidewalk to pass ? I don't agree with shooting someone but damn , passing a car on a sidewalk is stupid period. If you're in that much of a hurry then maybe you may need an ambulance.
  16. Will this Kit be able to reload pistol ammo right off the bat or will I need different  things ? I know I may have to buy different dies and different brass case holder but what else ? I am all new to this .
  17. I just need to learn the basic things I think before I go all out and get a big unit .
  18. Thanks guys .
  19. Good LAWD !
  20. Keep at least one Glock cause I am a Glock guy and I know that GLocks always go bang !
  21. Ahhh Gen 2 the best frames Glock ever made ! Ahhhhhhhhh they give me a  tingle in the naughty parts
  22. Here is my new to me S&W M&P45C . I wanted one then didnt then did then didnt . Well I finally got it and glad I did . This is the first time I ever bought a pistol without holding it first , but it feels great. Man it is nice ! It is gonna give my G30 some competition as a carry gun . S&W really has done nice with these pistols. I am a die-hard Glock guy but I swear S&W is creeping up on Glock . Enjoy the picture ! 23. Hornady classic reloading kit . Good , bad or what ? I will start reloading this month. I want to start off simple so I can see what each step is doing . I dont want to start off with a giant reloading press that does everything in one push of a lever , HAHA . I just want to start reloading 9mm first . Then 45acp when I get to where I know how to do it good then maybe 30-30 .
  24. Are the RIA 1911's series 80 style or series 70 style ?
  25. I would say a good trail gun would be the Ruger LCR in .22LR . It is a revolver that holds 8 .22LR shells. Very reliable and also fun . And also EXTREMELY LIGHT WEIGHT . I have one and carry it out to Wally world or on short trips to the store . It is so light I keep checking to see if it's still there  :pleased:
