Oh i didn't take it that way , no problem .

I haven't ever taught him on the mower because we have so many roots here and there that are above the ground . I was too afraid that he would tear up the mower back when he was younger so I have always mowed the yard. But he does know how to use , shoot , and strip down my Glock 17 . So that is good enough for me

Oh yeah LOL. It is funny looking at the scalped yard  . I wonder what the neighbors are thinking. He got so much grass blowing out of the mower that we can bail it for hay it seems like
-
Yeah , now that I am thinking about the mower part , it is pretty funny :pleased: , half of my yard looks like a desert with the scalped grass  plus with the two stroke oil in the fuel tank , I could start it up and run it and let it smoke the neighborhood for mosquitos LOL. I usually put more oil in my two stroke fuel than what it calls for just for more protection.

Yeah , it's nice to go where the water is clear and not muddy like the Red River and Cumberland River here in Tennesee LOL . Plus my sinuses seem to clear right up when we are there over two days  -

Lambert's is great but since we live near the Tn and Ky state line we go to the Lambert's in Sikeston every other month so we will skip that , but YES !!! It is great !!! My son loves it. The Shrimp basket is great too but I am the only one who likes it in out family . How was the Live Bait place ? -
I had a crappy week at work and was looking forward to taking it easy today. I enjoy mowing my yard and its very relaxing. Well yesterday I come home to find out this ,, Well first let me say that my 17 year old son is a very book smart son and gets A's and B's which I am very proud of him ! He is in several school and academic clubs which can only be done if you have great grades , again i am very proud of him. But here's where things get FRUSTATING ! ........ I come home from work and find out that he wanted to surprise me and mow the yard. He has no idea about operating certain things and what fuel goes where and so on . He puts a gallon of my TWO-STROKE fuel into my riding mower . He then mows half my yard on the LOWEST setting possible which skins half of my yard to the dirt !!!! Well he hit several tree roots and it knocked my mower's deck all out of alignment. Then my little girl got out some of my old pieces of steel rebar to use a "sword" to play like she is sword fighting. She leaves it in the grass. My son then runs over it with the mower and it gets all wrapped around the two blades of my mower and destroys he blades and cause more damage to the deck. But I can't get mad at him because the day before this "mowing disaster" he was at home with my little girl. He noticed some guy walking from the street into our yard. He watches the guy go into the side of our yard and squat down looking very nervous. The guy then goes and jumps up on the porch and bangs on the door. Then the guy bangs so hard that the door is about to bow inward. The guy stays there banging hard and looking in both directions really fast . My son made the appropriate phone calls and gets my pistol and prepares for the worst. Luckily the guy never gets in the house and is scared off. My son did great , protected his little sister and all is great. So I cant get mad at the big guy  Just doing a little venting for being frustarted that I have to rebuild my mower deck and drain my fuel tank but my son is still awesome and at least he knows what to do when the crap hits the fan.

What are some good but affordable places to eat in and around the Orange Beach and Gulf Shores Alabama area ? Also in the Pensicola Florida area and Destin Florida area ? We go there every so often but I hate driving all over the place looking for good food and wasting my precious time off . We have been there 5 different times and found a few nice places but I'm trying to see if we missed any . I will mention that a place called Cotton's was not very good and WAAAYYYY over priced. I can make better seafood myself at the house for way cheaper. I am looking a place that has good seafood but it has to have some sort of chicken or beef since my wife doesn't eat much seafood. My 18 yr old son and little girl and I love seafood. I know we do like the Gulf Island Grill and the Oyster House . Any information is appreciated !

S&W M&P Shield Complete slide detail strip
tercel89 replied to tercel89's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I few other guns are like this but they are hammer fired. This was the first striker fired one that I had seen like this. But I'll tell you that the Shield is a real treat to shoot and carry . I may later on detail strip it and put it back togather but not use the heavy duty locktite on the allen screw on the rear sight . -
S&W M&P Shield Complete slide detail strip
tercel89 replied to tercel89's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Here are some good video's that helped me . Especially with using a soldering iron to heat up the rear sight lock-tite stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHYjhKgemnY and another https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Grwxd16TcUM And thanks guys for not ragging me on this LOL. I am still considered "old school" and not computer oriented . I hope this helps you guys with your Shield . One a side note , I sure wish that S&W had not made the darn Shield with the componants under the rear sight , DUHHHHH . But it is a darn little good gun for sure ! I am keeping mine for sure and never selling it . -
S&W M&P Shield Complete slide detail strip
tercel89 replied to tercel89's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Sorry guys , I just found a good video of it. I guess I posted before I looked hard enough. I was loooking for detailed strip/dissassembly video and found nothing but when I looked for rear sight removal I found what I needed. Thanks and sorry to post a wasted thread. -
Does anyone here know of a good video that show the complete detail striping and disassembly of the slide to a S&W Shield ? I have seen videos but I can't find one that shows the removal of the rear sights which allows you to take out the safety plunger and all .

I see what you are saying about possbily having to trim cases in the future. That is mainly why I wrote this thread in the first place. But like someone else said , you dont have to worry about having lots of things right to make the slide cycle and eject and recoil and all that mess.

Sheeeeettttt . That is good . I am a Glock man but sheeeeeeeet !
-
I am about to sacrifice one of my beloved Glock 21's to fund a Ruger Sp101 or GP100. I have had both these revolvers but foolishly sold them. Now that I am reloading , they seem like they would be fun to reload for :woohoo:
-
Well thanks to all you guys. I'm just gonna take my powder measure all apart again and clean it one more time. I did use a dryer sheet to tak off the static but this time I'll do it more. Let me run this by you guys : When I am throwing my charge I will occasionally tap the reservoir to make the powder around the baffle settle some more. Could doing this be bad ?
-
I have had that happen with Winchester White Box .38 ammo. Some of the bullets from the cartridges with pop out a little from the case and would keep the cylinder from rotating.
-
How much different is reloading for revolvers than reloading for semi-auto pistols ? I have been reloading 45acp and 9mm. Other than the regular dies , will I need a special crimp die ? What I am thinking of reloading is .38/.357
-
Yeah when i raise the lever up , I bring it all the way and gently slam it into the fully upward position. I also tap the powder around some to make it settle in and around the baffle.
-
I am still new to reloading and found out how much too low of powder is just too low. I was reloading 9mm using Aliant Power Pistol. It calls for a minimum of 4.8 grains for a 115 grain FMJ Round nose.. I am making plinking rounds. Well since I am new to it all I am being very carefull and loading them very light. My Hornady powder measure doesn't seem to hold a very exact "throw" right now and like I said , I am getting used to it and all. It was varying from 4.8 to as low as 4.5. I thought what the heck and made them up. I put them in my S&W Shield. It shot them but the low powder didnt have enough power to cycle the slide all the way. I guess I'll keep it up around 5gr or 5.1 from now on. Do any of you guys have constantly varying powder measures ? I have the baffles in it and its all clean but it seems to vary from time to time .

"Sounded like the Chinook of the insect world" HAHAHAHAHHAAH that is true but funny !!!!

You are damn right about the Cow Killers. We have them here and that's why I dont walk barefooted much anymore !
-
I love seeing those big Black Racers. I welcome them to my yard as we have lots of mice around here. At work a few years back I was at a house where there was a huge 8 foot one crawling up a tree. I swear I had never saw a Black Racer that big before. It went into a large hole in the tree and as it went in another one the same size came out. It was as thick as my forearm. Then last year just about 1 mile from the same place I saw the two giant Racers, I saw another one around 6 foot long. Then some MORON in a big truck swerved to miss it , stops , then backs up and runs over it . I was pissed. Those Racers really keep a place mouse free.

Tacoma all the way. I have the 2003 Tacoma 4WD with the 2.7 liter and love it. I have 104,000 miles and love it. All I do it change the oil , the transmission fluid , and grease the joints. I gave up on American vehicles in 1996. America builds vehicles to sell but Japan builds them to last. This is from my experience. During the last big snow we had here in Tennessee in March , my wife and me took my Tacoma riding around in the deep snow . In 2 days we travelled over 350 miles just riding around in the snow and never got stuck.
