1. Rules or policy or whatever you call it , The flag , in my opinion , should have been lowered the same day . It would have showed SUPPORT for the families of the soldiers that were killed . I don't care about policy when it comes to good ole down to earth RESPECT.  The families are now hearing that it took this long , almost a week , to lower the flag and I cant imagine how they feel. It's bad enough losing your family member , and even adds more pain when the goverment  that their dead family member worked for  doesn't even show the simplest little respect by doing this the FIRST day it happened.  And that's my $0.02 .
2. I have heard from several people and friends that the U.S. flag at the White house and such places hasn't been lowered for respect of the soldiers that were killed last week . Is this true and if so why wasn't it lowered ? I am near Fort Campbell and almost all places here have lowered their flags.  I just thought I'd ask. Seems like it should be an automatic thing to lower it at a time like this .
3.    I just got a pound of this CFE Pistol today. I am curious too. Currently I am loading 9mm and .45ACP . I may try the .40 soon. I saw this in stock locally so I grabbed a pound of it .
4. i love the frame mounted safety on these verses the slide mounted one . Good job on getting it
5. If you dont mind could you post some pictures of it ? If it were me and there wasn't much wrong with the nickel on it I'd just leave it alone. I would hate something that old to get messed up by a refinsihing company.  Plus some old marks here and there on an old gun gives it character. Just my $.02
6. I love listening to this guy who has several different characters and voices he does. He prank calls real businesses and people and records them. It's very funny. One of my favorite characters is Buk Lau who is an Asian guy. In this prank he calls a 7-11 Store which did not have the Coke flavor in stock on the "july 11th free slurpee day" .  In real life every July 11th all 7-11 stores give out free Slurpees.  This is hilarious ! 7.    That may have been it . Later that night I heard there was a soccer game. I just never saw Eagles since the 90's . just wondering if that is what they were . Either way it was cool  .
8. The other day on July 3rd around 4pm my wife and me were on Charlotte Pike in Nashville going to Hattie B's Hot Chicken (oh yeah man it's great ! ) and I heard a jet engine noise that I normally don't hear around Nashville. I rolled the car window down and looked up and saw either 2 Eagles or 2 Hornets. They looked like a "delta wing" jet just like F15 Eagles but I haven't seen Eagles in service in a long while. Anyways they got pretty low , like 1500-2000 feet and made a circle around downtown near the arena . Then then headed back north.  I was just wondering if they came into town to practice a performance for a ball game or for a celebration thing for the 4th of July . You know where they sing the National Anthem and have a jet or two fly by ?  Any of you guys see or hear them ?
9. I just got done with it. I tested it and it works great . I am very pleased. In the picture below is my two grip safetys. The one on the left is where I cut the little arm off that normally blocks the trigger. So If I ever want it back to normal all I have to do it put the other safety in it.
10. I just got my grip safety today . My first day off I'll do the cutting and let you guys know how it turns out. As far as cutting goes , what do you 1911 guys use for the raw exposed metal areas after filing and grinding when you fit parts ? I have never blued or cold blued anything. So far I think I'll just put a gob of RIG grease on it since it will be deep inside the gun just to keep it from rusting or corroding on that raw metal area.
11. I reduced the grip length on my G22 down to the size of a G27 . It now accepts the G27 magazine and it's flush. It had the RTF2 texture. It was too abrasive for carry. I smoothed it out too. So if I can do it I'm sure you can do it too. I just don't like reducing the circumference and having to fill in that empty space in the rear part of the grip. Cutting and sanding the polymer frame is not too bad , but when you get to grinding it down where the frame has very thin portions and the rest of it is epoxy , things get a little unpredictable later on down the line , in my opinion. I like to keep the frame as strong as possible. Here's my G22 RTF2
12. Are you talking about shortening the grip by the circumference or by making the grip shorter like taking a 17 and making it the grip size of a 19 or 26?
13.  Exactly  . And thanks for the help guys . I have all the information I need and I'll start on it as soon as I get my aftermarket safety in. I'm ordering an old style one without the memory hump or bump in it .
14.    Awesome and thanks for the information   . Just to play with it I may buy a seperate Grip Safety to modify and leave my stock safety alone so I can put it back in anytime I want .
15. Ok awesome ! He just got there today and theywere closed so he will have fun tomarrow and the next day  I bet
16.    Cool . Do you know if the grip safety will still sit where it normally does under tension or will it lose it's tension and rattle forwards and rearwards ?
17.    Oh yeah he's going there FO SHO ! I told him to take some pics for me . I've never went there before but always hear about them .
18.    just to try it out . Would the grip safety still be spring loaded or would it "slide" around loosely ?
19. I want to try and buy a cheap grip safety to try something out. I want to disable my grip safety in my 1911 but I dont want to pin it by drilling the MSH and Grip safety.  I want to try it by cutting off the little arm or tab on the grip safety that sticks in towards the inner workings of the trigger .  Is that how it's done ? Have any of you guys did it ?
20. WOW , I didn't know that . I was there around 6 years ago and didn't notice. But I was having to watch my kids running around and all becuase my wife left me with them while she went across to the cast iron cookware place.
21.    downtown , thats the store I was talking about , I think right beside the Interstate .
22.    That big knife store outside of Pigeon Forge ?
23. My brother asked me to post this here. He is going to East Tn to Dollyworld and such. He was wanting to know where any good reloading supply places were or just Gun shops that carry a good amount of reloading supplies. He will be going from Middle Tn on I-40 all the way there. We have Mid SOuth Shooters Supply in our town which is awesome but he was just wanting to know some places out there and along the way . Thanks for any information.
24. I had it's bigger all metal brother the Cougar. It is very soft shooting and to me was the softest shooting 9mm pistol I ever shot. Smooth as glass operation. Just keep oil on the slide rails and use a grease on the rotating barrel lug.
