   How difficult was it to detail strip it ? Did you need any special tools or just common tools ?

   Extractors , pins , strikers and such. Like the parts you can get for a Glock .

Anyone know if you can get replacment parts for them ?

I have set out on a trip to Guns & Leather two times in two different years to buy a Steyr since they regularly carry them . Each time I arrived , I ended up going home with a Glock :shhh: . The only thing that kept me holding back on them was the "take down" mechanism that uses a key to lock it and lock up the gun as a safety feature.  I think I may end up getting one if I dont find a good deal on a G36 . I do like the sights on them . Hickok45 has a video on the Steyr and says that he has to hold the sights a little above the 6 o'clock area to hit the target .

I just found out on Xtreme's website that when you load these , only load them at Mid-Range Jackets velocities or higher end lead velocities. And keep them under 1,500 FPS . So I am in the clear. I'm using Power Pistol and it has a nice long range . I loaded these to the 950-1,050 FPS range .

I am having a brain fart. When reloading copper plated bullets , should I load them like full metal jacketed bullets ? For example I am loading Extrme brand 115 grain copper plated . I loaded them as regular FMJ and some test rounds worked fine . But someone told me to load them with a little more powder than a jacketed one . Any help is appreciated .

   How old is your 36 ? Around how many rounds have you put through it ?

   I carry the 30 . I was just wondering about the current production 36. I have turned down twp 36's over the years thar were used but the owner wanted to trade for them. I only turned them down for not being able to test fire them . I'd buy almost any  used Glock anyday but the 36 is one that I would want to test fire before buying new.   I just dont hear much about them anymore nor do I see many people carrying them.

Does anyone here know if the current production of the Glock 36 still has any issues ? If the current production is working flawless then what did Glock do to fix the issues ?  I have looked online until I am blue in the face. There are so many lies and far fetched stories that you cant just go off of what you read on the internet . Plus there are some Glock fans that refuse to admit failure. I am a Glock fan but I'd be the first to admit a problem. I did have one a few years back with a rusted pin.  Any information is appreciated .

I just read this from a  member on Glocktalk and it is so true .... " Love or hate Glocks but the ease of complete disassembly and reassembly is a marvel of engineering compared to almost all others "   That is the main reason I sold my Shield and got the G43 . I loved my Shield but thinking about ever trying to instal sights or doing a complete disassembly , I would DREAD taking off that rear sight assembly just to get the firing pin safety out . Now the only other gun I have that has the same situation as the Shield is my Ruger P-Series pistols. But they are so "bullet proof" and "tanks" that I wont have to worry about that for as long as they run good. And they are around 20 years old and still running great .  But overall , the Glock pistols have such an ease of disassembly and reassembly of ALL parts and pins that I will never carry anything else with more parts for self protection.

Just got a 43 . I like it except the heavy trigger. I'm going to give it around a 100 rounds or so then see what happens before I polish anything or use a Ghost item in it. I want to keep it all stock. It may say 5.5lbs on the box but it's waaaayyyyyy heavier than that .

Is it the series 70 style ?

   Craming Glock guts into the M&P would be IDEAL !!! Glock has the function and S&W has the handling .

   I'm leaning more towards the P94 . Shooting even "hot" 9mm loads through this thing is like shooting 9mm "bunny farts" . It's smooth as butter and recoil is hardly there. It may be fat and thick but it's a workhorse.  I too have the P95 . The P94 is the P95 but with an aluminum frame.

Man just seeing some thugs bust into a home like that  just makes me boiling mad !

jdd65 , get yourself a Glock 30 9-rd magazine for your 30 . It will fit flush and doesnt have the big fat base at the bottom. It will make your 30 be a lot smaller under a shirt .

The G30 is one of my favorite carry guns and Guns & Leather is one of my TWO favorite gun shops . The people at that store are nice and never make you feel like you dont know what you're doing. I am always offered to handle any gun I am looking at and they even encourage you to handle them . Great choice on gun and gun shop :up:

Nice to have a rear-wheel drive car and an engine that sits "normally" and not sideways like the front wheel drives. . Keep your oil and transmission fluid changed regularly and you should be good to go .

   Yeah that is for sure the very positive of the 1911 VS the P94 .

No, I am trying to give him one of what I have cause I'm broke , HAHA

I have both a Rock Island Armory 1911 in .45ACP and a Ruger P94 in 9mm. I am trying to decide which is the more durable and stronger all the way around for just regular plinking and home defense and so on . I am going to give one of these to my son for his 18th birthday. He has shot them both and likes these two better than others he has shot.  i just want him to have the better of the two. The only cons I can think of is that the Ruger is no longer made and parts are hard to find. The only cons of the 1911 is that it cost a little more to shoot than the Ruger.  I hate making one of these posts but once soething gets in my head it's hard to get it out until I make a decision :rant:  What are your thoughts on the negatives and positives of each ?  I know they are both "cheap" pistols but hey , he has to start out somewhere.

   I was thinking of the same thing or  use a soldering iron to heat up the bishing and area near it.    OOPS I DIDNT SEE THE POST RIGHT ABOVE ME  LOL.

I use my Ruger P94 9mm as a test gun for my 9mm reloads since it's built so tuff. It has taken a lot of rounds and still comes out nice . These Rugers in the P-series have really been built well.  What do you guys use ?

I just saw two of them doing the "humpty bumpty" while flying by me. Other than that , we just have a load of June Bugs and Cicadas flying around Northern Middle Tn .
