  1.    And that's why I choose Glock as a primary pistol. The ease of disassembly and reassembly all the way down to the pins and parts .
  2. Is that a joke ? They are a very good shop but I just dont see how this revolver could be priced that high .
  3. I need to make a correction on a statement I made . I said that I started out shooting old cast iron pots and skillets . They did hold up fine but today I had an old one just to mess around with . I shot it at 50 feet with a copper plated 9mm 115 grain bullet and it went right through it like butter :dropjaw: . I am trying to load up pictures. I took another shot and it did the same . All I can say is WOW !!!
  4. I was waiting for someone to mention the Bren Ten carried by Sonny Crockett
  5. Also , if you can find old cast iron pots and pans they will work too. My first metal targets were old cast iron skillets . They are flat and shaped like a round target and even have a hole in the handle to hang them from . People at yard sales sell them cheap !
  6.    Thats a neat idea ! Cheap and easy !!!
  7. I have two man-hole covers that are slick on one side with no grooves. I got them free from a construction company that was throwing them away . They are one inch thick and will stop quite a bunch of different bullets . I am waiting till spring to cut them into smaller peices and hang them from a pole or wooden posts.
  8.   AMEN my brother !!!!
  9.    Not to get into a peeing match , but the SVO would kill the others in a road rally where there were curves and hills and such . Their handling was superior in their day .
  10. I know this is a SUV thread , but have you thought about the 2004 and older Toyota Tacoma trucks with 4 doors ? The 4 doors have lots of room plus you have the bed in the rear too and you can pop on  camp-shell if you want . I have the 2003 Toyota Tacoma 4wd but mine is 2door but it is as reliable as the sunset . It is 4wd and has the 2.7 liter which is pretty much one of Toyota's best 4 cylinders. The older Tacoma's like the 2004 and older are the "Huey Helicopter" of Toyota . They run and run .
  11. Yeah I agree with all you guys but when I heard him talking about it , I thought I'd check it out. The one thing I cant seem to find out is how the metal is treated and hwo corrosion resistant they are .  But like I posted earlier last week , I'm still after the Canik TP9 SF . At least I know it is well tested and proven .
  12. I just heard about New Order Firearms new 9mm pistol tonight on the Guns And Leather radio show on 99.7 FM out of Nashville.   Dennis Williams was talking very good about this company and their new 9mm pistol. It will be made all in the USA . All the metal parts will be machined from metal and no MIM or cast parts will be used. It will use magazine that already exit now , the Beretta M9/FS 9mm magazines. And here's a real cool feature. You can get them made totally for a left-handed shooter. The extractor and ejection port is on the left side. The trigger pull is measured at 5lbs and is a striker fired pistol. The frame is polymer. I wasn't able to find a picture of the frame without the slide taken off. I would like to see how the slide rails are molded into the frame and if they are metal or polymer (like the Ruger P95) or both (like the XD9/HS2000) .  That's all I know about it so far in the 1 hour that I have read about them . This sounds pretty neat .   http://neworderfirearms.com/

    CZ parts

Who or what company do you go through ?

    CZ parts

It's been a while and thankfully I havenever needed any but how easy is it to get parts for CZ's ? I have had a 75B , a P-07 , SP-01 , and P-01. Never needed any but just wondering how parts availability is ?
  16.    Sounds like my wife ! They just dont undertsand the "gun thing" . But hey , tell her it keeps us from cheating , keeps us from going to strip joints , bars , and all that bad stuff. We are just gun nerds and proud
  17. Glad for you man ! That looks awesome and will make you feel a lot more secure thats for sure ! Good job !
  18.    I think I saw an odd email but I didnt open it . It was in my spam mail and I deleted it thinking it may be virus related email. Can you resend it ?
  19.    I hear ya . I got to put in some extra hours at my second job to get some extra spening cash .
  20.    Yeah , kinda like when the HS2000 came to the U.S.  around the late 90's. I remember seeing them for $299. And then Springfield Armory started importing them and raised the price a few hundred dollars to around $440 or so.  I hope to snag up one of these TP9 SF's and hopefully soon.
  21. Cool and thanks guys. He isn't going to constantly dry fire it like you would with a Glock practicing and all but I figure I'd ask just to make sure. Since it will be new to him and he will probably be excited I figure he will dry fire it a few times . I'm gonna let him get the cosmoline off the way I usually do by using kerosene and scrubbing it with a toothbrush.
  22. UPDATE : I just found a TP9 SA and was able to handle and fondle it. It wasn't the SF model that I want  but it sure gave me some nice idea and on how the SF will be. I gotta tell you guys it was awesome ! The trigger was just great and had a great reset. The fit and finsih looked very nice. It was $359 but was built like it would be a $500 pistol. A few weeks ago I was really wanting to get the Ruger American 9mm but was really let down after trying it out but this Canik TP9 SA is a different story. It is  SWEET . The only thing I dont like is the loaded chamber indicator but after looking at it , all I need to do is pop out a rollpin and it should come right out.  So all I got to do know is wait patiently until I find the SF model. I didnt even mind the top-sided decocker on this SA model. I am just really impressed with this pistol !
  23. My son has become an A/B student and is about to graduate high school and has been accepted to college and will study to be a history teacher so I am a proud daddy ! So I have given him a few presents and one is a Mosin Nagant M44 . He always liked their ruggedness and simple design . I am asking you guys if dry firing is ok for the Mosins ? I have dry fired a few of mine only to "decock" them . But will it affect or hurt the firing pins or chamber ? His is still covered in cosmoline and well preserved. He will have a time cleaning it LOL .  Any information is appreciated !
  24.    Yeah the spare parts availability is the only thing I can think of so far as a negative but you only live once .
  25.    I rememebr you said you had one . I usually goto Nashville with my wife on a "date" without the kids at least once a month. When we do it next I'll give you a heads up and I'll take you up on your offer to fondle yours ( your gun , not any body parts LOL ) and maybe dry fire it a few at your shop.
