  Thanks for the offer , Mr. Larry   :pleased: .  James Yeager did a video on the TP9 SF , the one without the decocker on top. It seems to be really nice. I like everything about that one except for the loaded chamber indicator , but I think all it would take would be to remove a roll-pin and it would be out and out of the way .

Are there any stores in Tennessee that carries Canik ? The only ones I can see are Academy Sports online and that is just hit and miss. Guns And Leather doesn't and neither does my local store . I'd like to handle one in person  .

I have had 3 of the Stoegers 2 in 9mm and one in 45ACP . Their barrels are chrome lined for longevity and they are extremely accurate and reliable. I would go with the Stoeger based on my experience. I made a thread two days ago about how Academy SPorts had them for $299 and I would have snagged one if I hadnt of just gotten a G19 last week .  The Beretta equiptment that the original Beretta Cougars were made on was shipped to Turkey and these are built just the same. You are getting a $600 pistol for half the price .

I'm not trying to endorse the big box stores or anything but I'm just thought I'd pass this along. Academy Sports in clarksville has their Stoeger Cougars marked down to $299. I've had 2 before and they are sweet shooters! To me you can't go wrong at that price . They have the rotating barrel action and chrome lined barrels for longevity . Very well built guns for the money . Other Academy Sports stores may have the same deal. Just thought I'd pass this along .

The Canik TP9 SF has gotten my full attention 

   WOW you make it sound like it is as easy as a GLock to detail strip the whole gun down. Is it that easy ? Does it have more or fewer parts than a GLock ? Any special tools needed ?

I was very surprised that James Yeager is using these and even made a video about them. How are parts availability ?

I got to thinking today about my experience with this pistol and then how complex the "fire control" or "chassis"  whatever you call it was. It just looked very complicated and I have read about others too saying it was more complex than it should be.  I just have a feeling that if something goes wrong with that part of the gun , it would be hell to take apart.

I'll add my extra $0.02  I can shoot and predict the actions of my Ruger P-Series pistols better than the Ruger American Pistol.  Like I said in my own thread , I hope Ruger addresses this but then again , it may just be me .

I got mine a little over a week ago and it lowered the trigger pull at least 3 lb less. I am vey pleased. I got the Ghost Edge COnnector.

Just sold my last .40S&W Glock . All I have now is the ammo (for sale lol ) . I use the Glock 22 .40 S&W at work but for my own protection on my days off I use 9mm and .45ACP .

   I am serious and would not exaggerate my report. I really wanted this pistol but it really was spongy feeling . I am all about adjusting to the gun but this was just a little too much for me . And if you know me I am very forgiving. Like I said , I am a very big Ruger fan and carry Rugers on my days off. This Ruger will have some adjustments I suspect in the near future and if it does then I'll get it .

   If you goto Ebay and look them up you can order it and they will ship free. But on their regualr website they charge a little for shipping. I got mine from their Ebay site . hope this helps .

  Steelharp , check out my review on this Ruger . I shot one yesterday . I made a thread on it . Pretty much it was all good excpet for the spongyness of the trigger and the very quite trigger reset . YOu can hardly hear it reset and barely even feel it . But then again I have shot Glocks for 20 yrs and carry one on the job for the last 18 yrs. So maybe it's just me . Like I said in my thread , I will not give up on Ruger . I will wait and see if they fix the trigger and it's reset . I was all set to buy it and had the cash in hand too.

     No the newer Gen 2 has slide serations on the front and the rear . That's the older first gen , the one I had to send back to CZ .

I just a got a new M&P9 fullsize after thanksgiving so I was going to buy my usual Alien Gear holster for it. Well I got to looking late at night and came across Ridgid Holsters. They are a family based company out of Florida and make nice holsters. I got this one for my M&P9 . It is an IWB holster but also had slots to wear it OWB too. It is very well built and the leather is thick and nice. The Kydex is thick and very sturdy. He doesnt use revits so you can take apart the holster and adjust the tension. I am very pleased. I got the holster and spare parts and shipped for free . All for $40 :up: . Here is a few pictures of it with my M&P in it . I just like to pass along a good buy when I encounter one . I would love to find an animated video of how the firing mechanism and striker system works . It just looks so different from what I am used to.

Thanks Capbyard for the pics and the information. I hope it goes good for you. Like I said in my thread , I liked it all except for the spongyness of the trigger and the reset. I just feel that if I were to try and double tap with it that I would short-stroke the trigger . I will say that in one week I have went from thinkin it was a ugly gun to now thinking it's a nice looking gun. Like I said , I will wait just a little longer to see what happens with it. So I haven't given up on it . until then I'll still use my Ruger P89 , P94 and P95 as my "Ruger American " pistols :usa:

I'm not giving up on this new Ruger , I just will sit back and wait for something to be done about the trigger and how it works.

  Oh I was gonna sell the Glock eventually . I was originally going to use the money to buy the all new improved Gen 2 CZ P-07. Ironically the orginal CZ P07 was the one "dud" that I bought by jumping the gun when it first came out. I got screwed but CZ took care of me and sent me an all new one but I lost confidence in it . So , the new Gen 2  P-07 is out now and I was going to get it until I got so sideswiped by this new Ruger.  Now let me tell you , the new Gen 2 CZ P-07 is GREAT , trigger and all. Plus you can convert it from decocker only to safety and back . To me it's the best hammer-fired polymer gun out there now days . But I am gonna give it a week and who knows , I may go get the CZ after all. The new Ruger's "guts" just look very unconventional to me and I don't feel comfortable with it .

   Dude , I was devastated ! I had sold a Glock to get funds for this pistol !  Ohhhhhh I was devastated . It was purely my fault though. I should have waited .

I sure wanted it bad , like a kid wanting a toy with a bundle of money in his pocket , but I just couldn't bring myself to buy it after I shot it .
