I just went through this same thing back in March and even made a thread on it like you. My son turned 18 in March and I got him a nice used Glock 17 9mm. I gave him that since he had shot mine several times and loved it. Since you don't seem to want a Glock , I suggest these two : 1. The Ruger SP101 in .357mag so he can shoot 38 and 357 . It will last him a lifetime ! and the other would be a nice used Ruger P-Series in 9mm. They are built to last and he can experience a hammer fired DA/SA pistol like we did growing up. Good luck and happy birthday to the little guy !

I have two questions on this that I cant find answers on . 1. Is it "made" as a 9mm or was it a converted .45acp model. I say "made as a 9mm" like how the Springfield Armory EMP was made as a 9mm with different demnsions and all unlike other 1911 9mm's. 2. Does it's barrel have an attached feedramp to keep the aluminum frame from getting chewed up by the cartridges ? If yes to both above questions then it should be GREAT ! It sure looks and sounds neat .

I called them about parts availability back around Feb or so earlier this year when I first heard about the new SF . They said no parts would be regularly available other than sending the whole pistol back if something went wrong or broke. For me that's too late. I like to have parts on standby or at least easy to buy at a moments notice. Hopefully that will change. I was asking about simple parts like recoil spring assemblies and extractors and such but they said no .

When spare parts become available like Glock parts then I will definitely get the TP9 SF . Right now that is the only thing holding me back.

Oh yeah I hear you on the ethanol gas . I stay away from that crap with all my small engines.

I guess I should have mentioned that I read the reviews on the Husqvarna that I am looking at but now days there always seems to be a few idiots on the reviews that say a lot of bull crap. But there seems to be more good than bad.

I am about to buy a chainsaw. I have had a cheap Poulan for over 10 years and it finally bit the dust. I am wondering if any of you guys have any input on the Husqvarna 435 chainsaw ? It's $269 verses around $159 for another Poulan . I cut wood for my BBQ pit a few times a year and I trim my trees once a year and we have a lot so it will get a steady workout but not continual heavy use. Any thoughts on either ? I have a Husqvarna Weedeater and its around 4 years old with no problems.

What was the price on it at Bud's ?

Then I wouldn't worry about it based on my experience . All mine seem to crack their bark here and there and they are growing great.

I like Glocks and 1911's . They are very easy to detail strip without hardly any tools. I like the Glocks for reliability and the fact that they have so few parts. The 1911's are great when you fine ones that will run reliably. I find the Springfield fullsize ones in Mil-Spec will run great out of the box. I carry those and Glocks. I have gotten to the point where I will not own a firearm unless I can detail strip the whole thing down to all springs and pins and do all my own work on them. For example I like the Beretta M9/FS but I detail stripped one and the amount of springs and so many parts made me think about what could go wrong. CZ's are great ! I love CZ's but they have a gazillion parts !!!!! Plus I want very good parts availability , like where I can get them without going on the internet and I cant do that with CZ nor much others.

I have grown 6 maple trees in my yard from little tiny seedlings that I started from coffee cups and now they are huge. The biggest one has a trunk about as thick as the average person. It is healthy and it regularly sheds and cracks it's bark like I see in your picture. The only difference is that it's leaves are still green. Some trees turn their leaves brown when theres a good long draught.

Thanks guys . This rifle does work great for me . I guess he just wants to think he has better stuff than me. He is known to be like that I just let it go in one ear and out the other .
-
Yeah I believe he said something to that sort also. I am more of a pistol guy and he is a rifle guy. But I know the rifle shoots great and runs perfect. I guess he was just being arrogant. I just figured I'd ask on here to see what the heck he meant. I see now that he was probably just a smartass.

I bought a new Bushmaster AR 15 A2 (fixed handle) back in 2004 when the "Clinton Ban" was lifted. I still have it and it functions great. I had a friend tell me to "get rid of it because it's a commercial gun" . My Bushmaster has a 1/9 barrel that is 16 inches and is chambered for both 223 and 5.56. I didn't want to get into a pissing match with him , so what is the deal with my rifle ? It has functioned just fine over the last 13 years . Any ideas or thoughts ?

This is crazy . Having your personal items taken away and then having to prove that they are yours. I understand the idea , but having a large amount of money or a large amount of prepaid cards is not illegal. -
Thanks buddy ! It may have a 4 cylinder and all but it works for me. I have pulled stumps out of the ground and other stuff and I love it. My granddaddy was in the Battle Of The Buldge , he told me to never buy a "Jap" truck or car and would hate it but this truck WORKS ! I am sure he would understand if he knew how much money it saved us on unwanted repairs and all so that money would go to feed his great grand daughters and great grandson.

Beautiful . I was sitting on a dead end road near some woods. I saw a huge Lynx walk out in front of my patrol car and was so excited that I didn't hit my record button on my video system. He/She was a bit higher than knee level and had the ear and whisker "tufts" . The biggest wild cat I ever saw in Tennessee and I have been here 43 years.

I am a HUGE Tacoma fan and have a 2003 Tacoma 4wd with the 2.7 liter . It is pure HEAVEN . I love it .

I will post some pictures of the meat after it's done. I started at 6 am today . It usually takes me 15 hours but last year I cut the shoulders into three pieces each and it speeds up cooking time and also gets more smoke on the meat that way. So it should take me around 7-8 hours.

I just fired up my old school BBQ pit that I built a few years ago from scratch. I got two pork shoulders cooking right now . LOW AND SLOW at 220 degrees. Here are some pics of my burn barrel that I burn my wood in and then the pit .
