  1. Awesome. yeah I heard about using flat-nose bullets since they are tubular fed. Is that because they possibly could be accidently fired by a primer strike by the cartridge behind it ?
  2. I have been reloading pistol ammo now for almost 2 years. My brother taught me how to reload 223/556 so I know that and it isn't that hard at all. My question is how hard is it to load 30-30 ? I love shooting the old lever-action Winchesters and Marlins and buying store ammo cost a bunch . Is there any cutting the brass down to size or reshaping the neck or anything extra harder than 223/556 ?Any information is appreciated.
  3. Thanks for the offer but I'm about 75 miles north of you. How many rounds do you have through yours ? And which one do you have ? I'm wanting to hear from people who have ran theirs hard and dirty for a while and see how they work.
  4. Do any of you guys know where there is a range that rents out Canik pistols ? I am looking for the Canik TP9SF . My local Gun Shop here sells the Canik TP9SF but doesn't rent them out in their range . I don't think I ever saw any at Guns And Leather but I may try to look again. I just want to get the curiosity out of my blood about these pistols. They seem to be pretty sweet and reliable. Any of you guys know who rents them ?
  5. There's a place in Hopkinsville Ky called The Woodshed. It is a meat and three "mom and pop" place. They use old school pits like I use to cook their mutton , pork , and chicken. They make Burgoo and its AWESOME !!! I live 15 miles from there and I eat there at least once a month. I take the cornbread they give you and use it to soak up the juice in the Burgoo and damn its good ! I highly recommend The Woodshed in Hopkinsville Ky if you ever get up this way. I been eating there around 18 years .
  6. You can pretty much use any meat and any vegetables. I just prefer to BBQ all my meat and then add the meat to my Vegetables and juice. On a perfect day I will have BBQ'ed chicken , beef , deer , mutton , and pork. This time I only had BBQ'ed pork and deer which I BBQ'ed earlier this year and froze the left-overs. It's a bunch of fun to make and to add this and that to make it to your own taste.
  7. The Cayenne and vinegar is pretty much considered tabasco so it's all ready LOL . I always give it a good amount of vinegar for taste .
  8. Burgoo I made just now . The meat is deer and pork that was BBQed in my old style pit this summer where I froze the left overs. Vegetables are butter beans , okra , corn , tomatoes , green chilli peppers, green beans, vinegar , and cayenne peppers. Pretty much just like the old days when poeple would throw just about anything into a pot to simmer and have for supper. It will simmer for around 7 hours and then be done . Awesome supper for a cold day !
  9. When my wife and me were dating in the mid 90's we were don in Memphis trying to find some good BBQ places to try . The urge for #2 hit me and I mean it hit hard. We were in one of the real bad areas of Memphis. It was bad . I ran into this gas station and threw my pistol at my wife and said " if something happens just leave and if you must then shoot while leaving" . Yeah , it was that bad. And for me to say that it has really got to be bad , I'm a calm and reasonable person but this place looked like a scene out of some movie. I bet every thug there had dope and a gun on them.
  10. LOL yep ! I used 1/4 inch thick steel and hard steel rated bolts.
  11. I just got done making a pulley holder myself. Check it out !
  12. I bought a CZSP-01 from a member here . Loved it and cradled it and rocked it to bed at night then the same member bought it back. I loved that gun. It was so awesome.
  13. $hit I just sold my G19 to get a Beretta M9 and now this CZ comes out !!!!!!!????? I am a huge CZ fan !
  14. YEP , the Canik interests me sooooo much . I just wish they would sell extra parts for them.
  15. I have seen this but I am paranoid that the compression of the rope , even with soft rope may warp some valves when compressed. Remember that I am torqueing the crank bolt to 217lbs . That is a lot !
  16. They don't have one for Toyotas , just others and the Honda. I just left there .
  17. I did this to other engines with automatics but they only required a small about of torque to the crankshaft bolt. This engine requires around 217 lb of torque. I am scared the teeth mab be warped or break if I stuck a pin or screw-driver in the teeth.
  18. I have seen this but I am paranoid that the compression of the rope , even with soft rope may warp some valves when compressed.
  19. AHHHHH I forgot about the loan-a-tool thing. I'll go there tomarrow when I order more parts. Keep the ideas coming folks . I was supposed to be changing 3 squeaky belts and when I got the rear belt off I noticed that the harmonic balancer was separating from the pulley. This turned into a lot more than a 30 minute belt changing job LOL. Getting the crankshaft bolt off was simple as I took a long breaker bar and 19mm socket over the crankshaft bolt. I then laid the bar onto my trucks frame. I then "bumped" the starter and the rotation of the engine automatically loosened the crankshaft bolt. The torque that these starters have is AMAZING . It unscrewed that bolt like it was butter. I just now gotta get a tool or make one to hold that pulley/harmonic balancer still while I exert the same foot pounds to bolt it back up.
  20. Do any of you guys know where to locally get an automotive pulley holder wrench instead of having to order one from the internet ? I can make one from scratch but it's better to buy one made for the job. I need one to hold a Toyota crankshaft pulley while I reinstall the crankshaft bolt and that bolt has to be torqued down to over 217 pounds . Most Autozones and such stores don't sell one that I can use. I thought you guys may have an idea where to find one. Any help is appreciated.
  21. Thanks guys . I'll try some of those and go from there.
  22. What is a good way to find a used truck or car online in Tennessee or Kentucky instead of Craigslist ? Kinda like some "car and truck trader forum" ? I am always hearing horror stories about Craigslist. I am looking for something similar that sells cars and trucks that doesn't have a crappy reputation like Craigslist. I know that looking in people's front yards is the best but that is really slim pickings when you're looking for something specific.
  23. Here is the tag that was attached to the trigger guard by the factory.
  24. Damn I miss the Ruger P-Series
  25. M9A1 ???? Just got its "brother" yesterday ............
