  1. What is the highest round count that you guys have seen from a pistol chambered in .40S&W ? A certain trainer in middle Tennessee says in one of his videos that pistols chambered in this caliber will beat themselves to death because of the high pressures. I had a Glock 22 Gen 2 and had at least 8,000 rds through it and had no signs of destruction other than natural wear and tear. Any thoughts ?
  2. Thanks everybody for the information.
  3. I like the idea of it but I wont buy the newer Sig guns. Their quality has went down hill very badly in my opinion. The new Hellcat by S.A. sounds way better.
  4. I have owned a bunch of handguns but the Shield is the first handgun I ever owned that had an ejector that wiggled. All my previous guns had ejectors that were fixed and did not move. I called S&W and they said it was made that way and other owners say that theirs wiggle too. My Shield runs great and is awesome , I have just never seen an ejector like this. Have you Shield owners noticed this on your ? Mine is a 9mm.
  5. I like it ! It took my eyes off the IWI Masada for now . I've never had trouble from a Croatian pistol and still have 2 of them. I like foreign guns like these , it's American guns that I usually have troubles with,,,,,,,,, except the Ruger P-Series
  6. I sanded it pretty good and of course the black color turns a little grayish but it feels great. Plus the small grio insert makes this 45 full size pistol feel like a 9mm. It's a keeper for sure so that's why I don't mind sanding it down. It feels better than a lot of other polymer guns as far as grip texture and in girth too for it being a big-bore pistol.
  7. Nevermind . I just realized the grip safety was still there. I guess it kinda blended into the picture at first.
  8. I thought about that too but my full time job uniform is 30 lbs and hot as heck . When I am not working I wear the least amount of clothes I have to. I may try the bicycle inner tube.
  9. This is what I have done in the past too LOL. I think I may try it here .
  10. Just got me a new 2.0 M&P . Great gun but the grip is really abrasive . What have you M&P 2.0 owners did if you encounter this ? I hate to sand it down right off the bat .
  11. If this is real it may keep me from getting a CZ83 in 380 .
  12. Tell us about that . Is that an aftermarket barrel in an M&P 9mm frame and slide ?
  13. Please don't mention that Remington RP9 , you're going to jinx the Masada.
  14. Bringing this thread back to life. The newest reviews on this pistol is pretty good. I was really liking everything about the Stoeger STR-9 until I pulled it's trigger. It was terrible. But this Masada is very sweet. People are even praising the trigger pull on it. I am trying to not buy anymore polymer guns and getting back to metal guns but like others have said , Israel makes great firearms.
  15. Sig quality has went down hill since the last 10 years or so. And in my opinion , so has Glock. I have gotten to where I only buy firearms that are time tested like a Glock 17 or a Sig P6. The next "best thing" that pops up isn't always the reliable gun it seems. I have used this thought since I was 21 years old and it has always did me right. I "veered" off once and got a new just released pistol called the CZ P-07. It was a piece of crap. The frame bowed outwards , the magazine stuck , and the trigger didn't reset. I do like CZ but I should have waited for CZ to refine it.
  16. Check out the newer "finish" on the right compared to the "fry pan" finish on the left . My "frying pan" finish was made in 2008. Very noticeable.
  17. I have a G21 Standard and G30 standard. My hands are normal size but I never considered the newer SF versions. I found a G21SF for pretty cheap and not fired and jumped on it. WOW it is very noticeable once you wrap your fingers around the grip. I listed a picture of the 21 Standard and the 21SF together . For some reason Glock took the SF designation off of the frame near the dustcover and put it on the area where it shows Made in Austria. To me its one of the softest shooting 45ACP pistols there is.
  18. I always wondered why the crap that was on the gun in stores. I was thinking that I know there are stupid people but DAYUMMMMM.
  19. Sold 2 pistols to get the money to buy my favorite CZ that I couldn't find for a long time. I don't buy guns online nor order them sight unseen. Just too much risk for me plus I don't use credit cards. So for several years I haven't seen this particular CZ in person at a shop nor for sale by a person. So I saw this brand new CZ75B SAO at Guns And Leather a few weeks ago. CZ has discontinued them. I was able to get it and it's so nice ! It's not the "fancy dancy $1,500 CZ professional this and that" gun , but it's a 75b Single Action Only and can be carried cocked and locked. All steel , heavy and built great. Trigger is nice and just awesome. Can't wait to shoot some steel with her. The older I get , the more I am liking hammer guns again.
  20. I think the S&W M&P's still print "fires without magazine" on their guns too.
  21. Oh I know that's why I posted the update. It was HORRIBLE !!!
  22. I've been pretty lucky as I have only had one bad gun. Every gun I ever bought except one has ran well right out of the box. The exception was a CZ P-07 . I got it the year it came out. I couldn't get through one magazine without a malfunction. The trigger would not reset al the time. Then the frame began to "bow" outwards. I couldn't not trust it anymore. CZ sent me a new one but I traded it in for a used Glock 34. I try to run at least 75-100 rds before I trust it will run correctly. In my opinion a good gun should not require a break-in period.
  23. Ticks season is way more dangerous than it used to be for me. My brother got bit by the Lone Star tick. It has a white dot on it's back. It carries "Alpha Gal" . If you get bit by it you have a high chance of getting Alpha Gal. This will make your body allergic to mammal meat. That means no more beef , pork , and on and on . All my bother can eat now is birds , fish , and reptiles as far as meat goes. He has to carry an EPI Pen with him in case he eats something with mammal meat or something cooked with mammal broth like beef broth. No more burgers , bacon , ham , steaks , hotdogs ,,,,. So be careful cause it's out there along with Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.
  24. I went out looking for a cheap but reliable gun for my mother that would be reliable and such for a home defense gun for the house. I was looking for the Ruger P-Series and revolvers and such. Then I pulled in to my favorite gun shop. They usually only carry 7-10 used guns. I found a Glock 17 Gen 3 in awesome shape for an awesome price ! After detail stripping it , it seemed like new. Hardly any "smilies"on the top of the barrel. Plus it has 2 regular mags plus a factory Glock 33 rd mag. I am a happy camper ! $328 for it all . The Gen 3 guns are so great. Seeing how others are buying cheaper quality guns , I figured I couldn't go wrong with a good ole G17 . I think I'll keep the 33 rd mag for myself . Mom don't need that .
  25. With today's pistols , I say keep them stock for them to run reliably . Use your money to buy ammo and practice .
