  1. If you have the room and time build your own pit. I love BBQ and there were just 2 good places in my town so I built my own BBQ pit and made a burn barrel with it. I'll try to post a picture of mine. It's the old school type where I burn my wood in a barrel and then shovel the wood into my pit every hour . A few shoulders take around 12-15 hrs but it's worth it. I have cooked deer , chicken , turkey , pork , beef , and hopefully this winter I'll catch a few wild hogs to cook on there too. Next spring I plan to cook a goat. here's my set-up. The pit is up front nd the wood burn barrel is off to the side.
  2. I ended up at The BBQ Shop. The food was great. Like I said , I make my own BBQ at home with an old fashioned cinder block pit I built. I dont use sauce and my pork and deer is usually only wet from it's own juices. Sometimes I will make some vinegar based sauce and mop it on the meat every few hours. But anyways , I ordered some ribs and ordered them "wet" with sauce. WOW !!!! The sauce they use and that was on the table was AWESOME !!! I am not a sauce person but this was just great ! It was NOT sweet and was NOT tangy. It was as if they used tomatoe paste , sour cream , cumin , and some other non-tangy spices. This sauce was just great ! I guess it I can say it was creamy. The meat was great . I like cole slaw and hate it when slaw is sweet but their slaw was mustard based and was GREAT ! It seemed to have some onions cut up in it too. The best slaw I ever had in my life ! My wife had the bbq sandwich on Texas toast . The sandwich had a ton of pork in it. I was pleased ! Thanks for the suggestions to all you guys. Ill try to post pictures of my wife's sandwich cut in half and my rib plate.
  3. Thanks guys. I looked up some of them and a few use charcoal. Since I make my own at my house with wood I guess I'm a bit picky. Thanks very much for all the information. Ill try to take a picture of whatever I get . Most times I get regular pulled pork but I think I'm in thr mood for ribs .
  4. What is the best all around non-chain BBQ place in the Memphis area ? I am taking my wife to the Memphis area and we want a nice good eating BBQ place but dont want to have to wait in line 2 hours. I make my own BBQ pork at home the old fashioned way with an open pit so I don't want any "City BBQ " made in an electric smoker and no chain-store type BBQ place. Any information is appreciated .
  5. Still looking
  6. nah , I have the CZ I want. I just wanted to try out the H&K hammer guns. Looks like I'll skip them now.

  8. I went out and handled a lot of the hammer-fired H&K's that I was interested in. Mainly the P30. They all had the ambi slide-stop levers. All of them had their right sided slide-stops very loose. Most would move up and down on their own or with very little movement of the gun. I handled a used P30SK and it's right side slide-stop lever would just flop up and down. I went to an H&K forum and this seems to be a common problem that H&K says is normal. Some guys are "fixing" it with shrink wrap , some with velcro , and some with nail polish. These are only band-aids and there is no way in hell I'd spend that much money on a pistol with a floppy lever like that. Dont mind me ranting , but dang I wanted a P30 but not this bad.
  9. Are H&K pistols worth the high price ? I am asking mainly about the hammer fired ones . I looked at an H&K P30SK last week. it's the smaller hammer fired one. A bit fatter than a Glock 26. I've never had an H&K and always wondered about them. Also the magazine locking area on the magazine where it hooks up to the pistol looks very different than other pistols. Thanks in advance for any information.

  13. Thanks for all the information guys. I'm hurting again even though I've been watching my foods and staying away from beer and sugary drinks. I've got an appointment with my doctor to try to get on a prevention medicine like Alpurinol or similar.
  14. It was too far away over in East Tn
  15. Nah unfortunately
  16. Here's a free bump for a great pistol. If it weren't so far and I didn't have so many P-Series already, I'd do this. Guys this is a pretty good deal on what is one of the best operating Semi-Auto pistols that Ruger ever made. I reload 9mm and 45acp and my P90 will eat all my reloads and even all kinds of 45acp FMJ's and HP's. Great gun !

  22. S&W announced their M&P pistol in all metal form. It looks just like the polymer M&P but the frame is made from aluminum. I am anxious to see the innards of the frame. All the video's only show the outside and not the insides. Supposedly they can use the existing magazines from the polymer M&P's.
  23. That is the main reason I go to the Gulf , TO EAT !!!!! I love seafood and yes , I like liver of all kinds too. Dang I am sure hating this mess. It's been 6 days and I can walk but my feet are still sore.
