What material is the slide made of ? I read that the Ruger's slide is made of Aluminum . I kinda like my slides made of carbon steel .

I like the 9mm revolver . I just dont like having to use the moon rings/clips to hold the rds in .

I almost got a G23C Gen 2 yesterday for $359 . I had to walk out of the store FAST

a Con is the Key lock safety to me . Does it have an extractor ? Also how much was it ? I am really interested in it .

I have not looked at Sigs in a while so forgive me. Is this a single action ? Is it an aluminum framed gun ? Can it be carried cocked and locked ? What is the price ?

I have owned XD's and like to shoot them . The only thing I dont like are the grip safety and the roll pins . But with this one , I will let those two negatives fly out the window . I AM VERY EXCITED ! I just hope the price isnt very much . Surely it will be less than than the fullsizes . Also I am very interested at how it has an external extractor . All the rest of the HS200's and XD's have an internal extractor .

Say that again in more detail . I like my Glock reset and I am not sure what you are talking about . I am presently looking at the Ruger LCR . Any information is appreciated .

From personal experience I would stay away from the Taurus. I would go with a Glock 26 or 27 or a S&W model 442 revolver. But out of your listings I would go with the XD subcompact. I had one and loved it .

WOW ! If I wasnt so far away I would jump on that !

Complete disassembly and reassembly of a 1911
tercel89 replied to tercel89's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I took out the ILS and put in a regular MSH from Wilson Combat . That way it is now a "regular" 1911 and has no stupid key lock. I also brought the main spring and recoil springs back up to specs with a new ones from Wilson Combat . And with replacing the MSH after taking out the ILS I had to put in new hammer strut pins and all . When I replaced the MSH I got a nice flat one . I love this gun now ! Here is a pic I just took of it . No fancy stuff just a pure working gun and no more ILS !!!! -
I say go with the Springfield-Armory Mil-Spc . I have one that I bought it 2002. I just did a complete disassembly and then I put it back togather. It was way easy and didnt have that many parts ! It is an awesome gun . And if you dont like the ILS just take it out and put in a regular MSH. I did and it took only 3 minutes. Very awesome 1911 !!! Here it is . No fancy stuff like large beaver-tails nor adjustable triggers just plain jane 1911 .

Complete disassembly and reassembly of a 1911

I have a manual on the complete disassembly of my Beretta/Stoeger Cougar in .45ACP which is my avatar picture. There is way more parts to it so that will be a while for me:D -
Complete disassembly and reassembly of a 1911
tercel89 replied to tercel89's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
No , not one , but SEVERAL ! hahahaha but I figure it was a learning experience and I dont care about a few scratches . It is a carry gun and it had a few already. It sure helped me learn how the internals worked. I knew the basics but now I know ALOT of how the 1911 functions. -
I just got through doing a complete disassembly and reassembly of my Springfield 1911 . It wasnt near as bad as I thought it would be. I can do my Glock in a heartbeat but the 1911 isnt all that bad . What I was kinda scared of was the sear and disconnector. But I am pretty amazed. Just thought I'd share my new discovery with you guys. I am now really thinking of starting to do one from scratch from a bare frame and slide

1911 guys: How do you get your slide-stop back in ?
tercel89 replied to tercel89's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
sigmtnman you hit the nail on the head . I looked this up about making a notch and it seems to fix this tight fit . Thanks ! My slide stop pin seems to be kinda flat in that area and that is why I cant just slide it upwards and inwards at the same time. -
1911 guys: How do you get your slide-stop back in ?
tercel89 replied to tercel89's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Ok , I just looked it up in my manual , what I am talking about that is getting in the way is the "thumb-safety/slide-stop spring" which is what I have to push inward to get the slide stop in . I have to use another object to push it in but on my other 1911 I used to have , the slide stop just popped right in . -
I have a S.A. Mil-Spec 1911 that I bought new back in 2004. I have only shot it a little but now I am planning on carrying it. Anyways , I always seem to have a hard time getting my slide-stop pin back in after field-stripping it. The little spring loaded pin that protrudes near it is what gets me. I always seem to have to use a small screwdriver or a toothpick or something to push that little pin back and then I can push the slide-stop back in all the way. Am I doing this wrong ? I see videos of guys slapping it in there with no tools at all . Any help is appreciated .

Thanks so much ! I am computer illiterate !

I know it wasnt on your list but since others mentioned it , I do LOVE my CZ P-01 !!!!! It has a nice testing history and has a NATO number on it where it went through sevreral tests and passed. I love mine. Good ole traditional hammer fired gun. And it's the same size of a Glock 19 .

Ruger SP101 . He can shoot .38 in it and .357mags too . HE WILL NEVER OUTGROW THAT THING AND IT WILL LAST HIM HIS LIFETIME

Anyone do spray in bed liner: Line X, Rino, or...?
tercel89 replied to Dad03's topic in General Chat
I got my truck sprayed at Line-X in Nashville in the RIvergate area . I think it is the Line-X of Nashville one. They did a great job ! I love Line-X . My brother has the same truck as mine and he got his done there too. Both of our trucks are now 8 yrs old and they are holding up fine . I have hauled all kinds of crap in mine and no problems. -
Ihave a Springfield Armory Mil-Spec and it is very reliable and I have had no malfunctions at all . And it is a very good platform for modifications. I removed the ILS and replaced it with a Wilson Combat MSH . It is made in America , not in Brazil like the other S.A. 1911's.

I am so amazed at the ones that carry the Glock 21 . Lucky bastards ! (bastards is meant in a good way , hehe)

The M&P is just as easy to break down as a Glock is . What I dont like (which really doesnt matter to some) is that when "detail stripping" it , you have to push out ROLL-PINS in stead of Glocks regular pins . I just dont like roll-pins because you have to be carefull not to flatten the ends of them out . But I have the M&P and GLock both right now and I am keeping them both for life ! I like them that much. If you like the M&P then get it . It will be great . I would suggest to make sure you get the one without the internal key lock (ILS) and get it without the magazine safety. That way you can shoot it with or without a magazine in it just like a Glock.
