  1. This is where it is not a good idea to do it. At that many miles it's best to not change it from my experience. When it has not been changed that long and you do change it at high miles, you will get problems if not complete failure. TO sum it up the dirt and contaminants become "part of the transmission" . When it is flushed out it wil start to fail. Good luck and I hope it doesnt happen to you. Before I learned of this I experienced it first hand when I changed my mother-in-law's transmission fluid.  The transmission failed after I changed it. It had 130,000 miles on it. She said I was the first person to ever change it.
  2. That's cause it's Japanese !!LOL  American cars are POS !!!!
  3. This is WAY off topic but do you  know that the Ford Mustang SVO was created to run against the BMW 3 series ? Plus it was the best handling mustang there was . Also it's sister's were the Turbo coupe Thunderbird and the XR4TI .
  4. I am a pretty good mechanic and heard of and have delt with this myself : I changed my mother-in-laws tranny fluid that had never been changed. SHe had 130,000 miles on it. I changed it when she told me that it had never been changed. THen 1 month later her transmission failed. It seems that the dirt/trash/grime becomes part of the transmission and if it is flushed out then the transmission will fail.
  5. Good Lord Allmighty !!!!!
  6. Oh I agree 6.8AR , trust me . I sure dont believe in the "lifetime" fluid . I am just wondering what others do . Plus I know you are a good "SHO" mechanic !
  7. Just curious and please be honest. I am wondering how many here change their transmission fluid wheather you do it or have it done. And how many here just dont change it at all. I know that some of the newer automatic transmissions like the Toyota Tacoma's have a "lifetime" fluid and doesnt have to be changed but I personally would change it anyways. Anyways , thanks for any of your information . After I get enough answers I'll explain why I asked. Thanks
  8. It is across from Autozone on Ft,Campbell Blvd just right up from where his shop is now. They are scraping the land right now . You will see the landmovers and track-hoes there. He broke ground on it last month . It is supposed to be up and going in about September I think he said.
  9. Oh Sorry I misspelled his last name we mainly are on a first name basis and all . But anyways he is a nice guy and his shop is top notch ! Maybe Dave doesnt know about this website. I will have to tell him . He is building a brand new shop just up the road from where his shop is now. IT WILL BE A NEW SHOP WITH AN INDOOR SHOOTING RANGE !!!!!!!
  10. You got that right ! David Beta , the owner of Tn Gun Country,  is a great friend of mine and a great guy ! The only place I buy gun stuff at is Tn Gun Country and Guns And Leather.  David Beta is a top notch fellow !
  11. So the way it is right now is pretty much like a Glock , right ? I have been carrying a Glock 22 on duty as an officer for 16 yrs now  with a full magazine and one round in the chamber and no problems yet . Just keep your finger out of the trigger guard and you are good to go ! Trust me , I mean really trust me , a manual safety will get you hurt or killed while trying to operate it.  :usa:
  12. Is his carry permit in Tn ? Just wondering
  13. I went into Clarksville Guns And Archery on Wednesday during my break at work to kill some time and see what they had. One of the workers there was unloading his truck and carrying individual boxes of the 500 rd bricks of .22LR's inside the store. The guy behind the counter says to the guy carrying the ammo "hurry up before someone see these boxes" . I was wondering what he meant by that. I asked him " Well I guess those bricks of .22lr's arent for sale huh ? " . The guy just looked at me really mean and rolled his eyes.  I just left . That was really strange .
  14. Ok I have another one , it is a Glock 17 Gen 1 in like new condition with box and all . I'd almost give my right testicle for one .
  15. Yes , try to get some pics of your frame so we can see it and let you know for sure. I have taken a manual safety off of one before and installed one but you may be talking about a different hole. One is for the manual "thumb safety" that is a square cut out. The round one is for the "key lock" safety.
  16. I always like looking at what the person open carrying is carrying. So far I have seen an XDM , XD, a high dollar 1911 Compact in stainless steel, 2 Glocks, and a M&P Fullsize.  So far I havent see any "junk" guns.
  17. I am now thinking about getting one of these for squrrils AKA appetizers !
  18. That is defintely one time you can say and prove  that "it only takes one .45 from this gun"  to put a man down !
  19. I carry concealed. When I see most people open carrying , they usually have a "look at me " type attitude going on.  I saw a guy one time with a $800 pistol on his side in a $10 nylon holster and the gun was  flopping around and he was purposely arching his right hip up to everyone he met to let them know he was carrying a gun. That type of crap will cause a disturbance and a possibly attract a thief to steal your gun .  But then again there are good guys who carry open and are good about it like the guy above named "101" . Be courtious and if the police stop you then show them respect and you may even educate them but dont use it as a way of " proving something" like these youtube guys do .
  20. I am a BIG Glock fan but when it comes to coatings and adding foreign parts , I say it is a forecast for things to go wrong . The Glock in it's stock form is perfection in my opinion. I have cut my G22's frame to a grip of that of a G27 for a particuliar function but it did not affect it's function nor reliability. I say give it a month's thought and then make a decision.
  21. Well said !
  22. Yes can you let us know please ?
  23. I was on patrol the other day and was doing paper work on a dead-end road near a wooded area. I just happen to look up and saw a 3 foot long very well built Lynx . It was beautiful !  I have never saw a Lynx in a long time here much less a huge one like this. It was a big healthy one.  Also I have noticed how Tennessee is getting lots of Armodillos here. In the last 8 yrs I have saw over 40 armodillos here in Middle Tn . Before 2002 I never saw any here in Tennessee.  I am in contact with TWRA a bunch durring my work time and I have heard that they have had several sightings of Cougars here too.
  24. I love CZ's , hence, see my signature below. But I only like them in 9mm. The CZ75 is a sweet pistol.
  25. I need to "feed" that to my wife but she will likely say that we need to use our "tools" to buy a Dooney And Burke or a Louis Vuitton  or a Coach !
