The newest member of the family and my designated DMR. Knight's Armament (KAC) SR-25 EMC 16" Chrome Lined, Ball Mill Dimpled Barrel, 7.62x51mm, 1x11" Twist
-
I purchased my first firearm in 2012. I paid $2.3K out the door for a Knight's Armament (KAC) SR-15 Legacy rifle from the Outpost Armory. To this day, it is the most expensive firearm that I have ever purchased. That will change next month when I pull my dream rifle out of layaway. Which is a Knight's Armament (KAC) SR-25 EMC for nearly $5K out the door. I will be well in for over $8k by the time I purchase glass (Leupold MK 8 CQBSS), Knight's Armament 7.62 QDC suppressor, + several other attachments. I have lusted after this rifle for many years and I have let a few opportunities to pass me by. When I came across this rifle late last year, I told myself that I could not let this opportunity pass me by again. The rest as they say is history, my friends.

Happy New Year, my friends! Prior to the Christmas holiday, I posted a WTB ad on various forums with hopes of finding an Egyptian military butt stock. I need it to begin the de-ban process for my recently acquired Intrac Maadi. I received a message for a complete stock set days after the Christmas holiday. The seller had six stock sets at one point. He originally set it back to use for a future project but it never materialized. Fast forward to this week, I received the stock set and my rifle is one step closer to being liberated from its post-ban configuration!

Thank you for the kind remark. It can be a slippery slope, my friend! Prior to my buying frenzy that started last year, I owned a WASR 10, Saiga 12, + a VEPR 12. I traded the WASR 10 + Saiga 12 for a PS-90 and I sold the VEPR 12 to help fund another property. I went nearly two years before I added another AK to the arsenal. I scratched that itch in January 2015 with a SOC Contractor WASR 10 from Atlantic Firearms. While attempting to learn more about the rifles provenance, I discovered the AK Files. The rest is as they say is history! That makes two of us, my friend! I am honestly surprised that I have not dipped into the world of 74's yet. At the top of the list is a Arsenal SLR-104FR, but I would have no reservations owning a SAR-2 or a WASR-2. Please let me know if you are ever in Nashville. I would be delighted to take you to the range to shoot. I have a niece that is enrolled at UTC and we visit her rather frequently. I will advise you prior to my next trip and perhaps we can coordinate a time to shoot. Happy New Year, my friend! A family divided! What rifle is on the left, my friend?

Happy Holidays, my friends! I spent the Christmas holiday with my family in Mexico. My family has a home that is perked up on a mountain overlooking the largest freshwater lake in the country. It was the first time that my siblings and I have spent Christmas in Mexico and it has been well over 40 years for my parents. In the spirit of the forum, I have included photographs of my grandfather's Pre 70 Series Colt 38 Super Automatic that was produced in 1966. He gave it to my father prior to his passing in 2006 and my father gave it to me on Christmas Day.

This particular rifle has a threaded barrel with a muzzle nut tack welded on. I would love to see photographs of your friends rifle! The opportunity to buy could not have presented itself at a better time. I was at my dealer to pick up my Childers receiver that I ordered in anticipation for my upcoming Egyptian Crutch kit build. Once the build is complete, they will make for an excellent pair by having a fixed stock + side folder variants.
-
I purchased my first Egyptian rifle yesterday. It was a very unexpected purchase, my friends. My dealer called me yesterday to inform me that my Childers receiver had arrived. As luck would have it, they took in the Egyptian MAADI (Intrac) in a deal hours prior to my arrival. I inspected the rifle, we came to terms on a price, and the rest was history. In addition to the rifle, I recieved the original 5 round magazine, 30 round East German, 40 round Chinese flatback, operation manual, + final inspection certificate. I have decided to liberate this rifle from its post ban configuration. Therefore, I am in seek of a MAADI brown grip + matching MAADI lacquer wood stock. Please let me know if you have any of the aforementioned pieces for sale or have a lead. Without further ado, I present to you my Egyptian MAADI (Intrac)!

I drank the Kool-Aid and I purchased my first VEPR. I placed the rifle on layaway through Atlantic Firearms nearly 45 days ago, paid the balance off last Tuesday, and it was in my hands by the following Tuesday. A special thank you to Atlantic Firearms for their stupendous processing + handling of my rifle. I am beyond impressed with the fit and finish of the rifle. I now understand the popularity behind the VEPR series of rifles. They are truly built to a higher degree of quality. I plan on leaving the rifle in sporter configuration due to the fact that I have a Molot FM-AK47-11 on layaway via K-Var. Thank you for the quality recommendation, my friends! After waiting 231 long days, I received my tax stamp for my Dead Air Mask suppressor this week. This particular can will spend most of its time affixed to my Romanian AKT-98. I am ordering a RS Regulate side mount + Primary Arms Micro Dot to complete the build. I purchased the rifle for my nieces and nephews to shoot but I find myself shooting it the most. It is a pretty sweet shooter. I would like to add a WASR 22 + a KK-95 RPK into the fold. Dead Air Mask x Romanian AKT-98

Need not apologize, my friend. Prayers for a safe and healthy delivery of your son. That is most unfortunate! When did you submit your paperwork? I went ahead and ordered a Sandman-S through the Capitol Armory. I needed to fill that void of now having a 30 Caliber can. Although I am attaching an underfolder stock to my PAP M92. I personally believe the triangle stock looks best. I cannot recommend the Wolverine PBS-1 enough. If you are ever in Nashville, you are more than welcome to shoot my rifle with Wolverine PBS-1 attached. It is a slippery slope, my friend!

It is extremely disheartening to say the least. Are you able to shoot your can while it is in transfer? When did you submit your paperwork?

I am a sucker for FDE. Excellent addition to the line up, my friend!

I participated in a group buy on the FAL Files for a IMBEL Gear Logo receiver. I picked it up from the Nashville Armory last Wednesday. In two short months, I will be sending the receiver + my IMBEL parts kit to Mark at Arizona Response Systems to build my very first FAL. I am pretty excited to say the least! After patiently waiting 231 days, I have recieved my tax stamp for my Dead Air Mask. I have included a photograph of my Dead Air Mask affixed to my Romanian AKT-98, Last and but not least, I received my Russian VEPR chambered in 7.62x39 from the good folks at Atlantic Firearms yesterday. A special thank you to Atlantic Firearms for their stupendous processing + handling of my order!

How do you like your Sandman S thus far? Are you still planning on the SBR route for your Micro? I submitted my paperwork to SBR my PAP M92 last month.

In the month of September, I received a notification from the Capitol Armory that the Dead Air Wolverine PBS-1 suppressor was available for purchase. I immediately placed my order. They sent me an email last Thursday stating that my Form 3 to dealer transfer had been approved. They packaged my can the same day and sent it to my dealer via overnight shipping. I purchased the Surefire Ryder 22-A suppressor in a moment of weakness. At the time of the purchase, I was waiting for my Dead Air Mask to arrive at my dealer. As you can see, my impatience got the best of me. I am happy that I did or else I would have never given this can a chance. It sits permanently on my Tactical Solutions X-Ring 10/22 rifle. The rifles weighs 4.3 LBS unloaded. Therefore, I wanted a lightweight can for the rifle. I am thoroughly pleased with the can thus far. I would have no issue if you were interested in joining me at the range one day to try the can yourself.

Which Dead Air can did you purchase from Capitol Armory? They are truly first rate, my friend! It was awfully difficult but I am thankful that I have the opportunity to shoot her whenever I please as she sits in transfer. Outstanding! Do you have photographs of your C39 Micro that you can share with us? Are you modifying it in anyway?

In the first week of September, I purchased a Dead Air Wolverine PBS-1 suppressor from the good folks at the Capitol Armory. I received an email yesterday stating that the Form 3 transfer to my dealer had been approved. It is with great pleasure that I present to you the Dead Air Wolverine PBS-1 Suppressor, my friends! Dead Air Wolverine PBS-1 x Romanian AES-10B RPK. Dead Air Wolverine PBS-1 x Romanian WASR 10 A special thank you to the Capitol Armory for sending out my suppressor yesterday afternoon via the overnight shipping option. They had a very small window to work with but they made it happen. Their customer service is truly exceptional. As a result, they have earned my business moving forward. As always, I greatly appreciate the Nashville Armory for squaring me away!

I was thoroughly impressed with the performance of the PSA AK-47 Gen 2 in the AK Operators testings as well. Your rifle looks great! Thank you for sharing, my friend.

Within days of acquiring my first Chinese MAK-90, I have officially acquired my second. I met with a local collector this afternoon and we did a bit of horse trading. The rest, as they say, is history! Double Trouble
-
I wholeheartedly agree, my friend! It has easily become one of my favorite rifles in my collection. They did an excellent job bluing rifles. The trigger is equally spectacular. As far as modifications are concerned, the previous owner saved me the heartache of partially de-banning the rifle by ditching the thumbhole stock and adding a pistol grip. I strongly considered re--fanging the rifle and converting to a Spiker. For the money that I would spend doing so, I would rather tuck it away and purchase an actual Spiker. Aside from adding a cleaning rod, I need to put her through her paces at the range. i had my LASIK procedure on Thursday and my vision is currently spotty at best. My fingers are crossed that I can get to the range by the end of the following week!

Last year, I foolishly let a Chinese MAK-90 in Sporter configuration pass me by at the gun show. I patiently waited well over a year for an opportunity to present itself and I found that opporunity last night on this very forum. A special thank you to johnnychimpo for answering my questions in a timely manner and for meeting me on such a short notice. I am overjoyed with the purchase of my rifle, but I am even happier to have met a local enthusiast.
-
Congratulations on your recent acquisition, my friend! Would you be so kind in sharing photographs of your newly acquired rife? What are your initial thoughts on the rifle as far as the weight and finish is concerned?
-
Are you referring to the Molot FM-AK74-11? If so, I placed the 7.62x39 variant of that particular rifle on layaway a few weeks ago through K-VAR. I am awfully excited by the release of this offering. I was officially sold when they confirmed that it had a square back receiver. When do you anticipate that you will have it in your possession?

My SureFire Ryder 22-A suppressor was approved last Tuesday. I received my tax stamp six days later. Two down, four more to go!
