  1. I'm a big fan of truglo TFO sights. They are tritium night sights with fiber optic light pipes. I have them on a Glock 26 and on an XDS 45. Pic of them on the XDS :
  2. Didn't mean to confuse anyone with the link. I just used it because it seemed to explain "why you would want powder coat" better than the other links I found.
  3. I believe that this is the original thread for those of you who would like a little more info: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/66713-powder-coating-the-easy-way/?fromsearch=1
  4. Basically it allows you to push them to higher velocities (near jacketed bullets) without leading your barrel
  5. I haven't noticed any loosening of the cylinder and I know I have fired over 1000 full power loads and close to 500 of my light lead loads. The lockup is still tight. After having it for a couple of years I finally got someone to make a holster for it!
  6. Which model did you end up getting? I have a Taurus model 444 ultralight 4" barrel 44 magnum that I love. It is made on the Tracker/Raging Bull frame.
  7. Fired five rounds out of it and brought it home!
  8. Well, I'm on my way to get it. He just texted me and said he would take $350 for it! :D
  9. Yup S&W model 637-2 .38spl 5 shot airweight j-frame revolver. 50 rounds of remington hollow points, 25 rounds of Hornady Critical defense, 10 rounds of Federal hydra-shoks and 1 speed loader
  10. Looks really good! I'm not usually a fan of spray paint on guns but, you did very well.
  11. I have been looking at getting another S&W model 637 .38spl. I have found a couple of them local and was just wondering what is a fair price for a lightly used one? I think it is a -2 model (has the internal lock) has paperwork saying that it was made on 02/01/2013. I don't want to give him a low ball offer so I thought I'd see what a reasonable price would be.
  12. Link to a neat video. High speed footage of 300 blackout ammo tests using segmented bullets. There are several videos of different things being shot with subsonic and supersonic ammo. 300 Ripout - Supersonic vs Denim layered Clear Ba…: http://youtu.be/1nSyLjTupic
  13. Buy some firecrackers. I have a neighbor that has a dog that "used" to bark all the time. He would bark for hours on end . Talked to the guy and he said "If you don't like it maybe you should move." After that each time I went outside and the dog started barking I'd tell it to be quite then light a pack of firecrackers. After about 2 weeks I'd tell the dog to be quite and he would quit barking. I haven't had to use the fireworks in over a year now.
  14. http://www.realtor.com/realestateagents/Sharon-Young_Kingsport_TN_1001356_046994322 This is who I used. She was very good to work with. I'd recommend her to anyone looking to buy around the Tri-cities.
  15. It broke the middle finger and ring finger on my right hand. It split the (bone/ cartilage) from the last knuckle to the tip of my middle finger. When I returned to work the following Monday a bent piece of 1" schedule 40 black iron pipe my glove and fingernail were on the table where we have our safety meetings.
  16. Nice! Seems like stuff like that always happens to me on Fridays too. Most recently it was me getting my middle finger caught up in a Rigid 535 pipe threading machine on April fools day a few years ago. Only took 27 stitches to fix it. My wife didn't believe me when I called her on the way the ER so when I stopped at a red light I snapped a picture and text it to her.
  17. I figured since they were made for "douches" they belong in the feminine hygiene aisle. ;)
  18. After seeing this I moved the ones at my local "superstore" and put them where they belong... With the tampons.
  19. Well I guess it's about time for me to get around to sending mine in too. I have taken mine to the range regularly since I bought it before the recall and have had a total of zero problems.
  20. Saw one that ran like a bolt action one time. I asked him if I could look at it. Come to find out it had NEVER been cleaned. Gas tube was full of cosmoline and grime. He said that he would give me $100 if I could get it running. I gave it a thorough cleaning and it ran like a top. When he came to get it, I showed him how to take it apart and how to clean it. He ended up giving me $150 for fixing it and teaching him how to keep it running.
