  1. (CAVEAT: The below is my personal opinionand observation only. It is not an academic statement of fact, so don't call for cites.) I believe the current economic chaos of boom and bust cycles comes from Government/Business collusion and was actually started during the John Adams administration. All of the presidents after him, except for Thomas Jefferson(first term only) and Grover Cleveland, have followed the Hamiltonian Mercantile model put into action then. Originally the"Battle Plan" of the Whig (later current day Republican) Party, this economic path was also adopted by the Democratic party in 1896, thereby abandoning the Jeffersonian small central Government and Free Market philosophy. Both parties (particularly the Tea Party faction of the Republican Party) are claiming a small government/free market platform, but in fact both ( Red and Blue) are Hamiltonian and are for big central government and Government subsidies. The Republicans want to drop out Social Welfare (Social Security and Public Welfare) and the Democrats want to dump Corporate Welfare ( Hamiltonian Government/Business collusion). Both still are strongly favoring a strong central government, but constructed in such a way as to benefit their own"clients" (Big Money supporters). The "big show" of "Return to the Constitution" is just a smoke screen. The Necessary and Proper Clause (Section 1), as supported by the United States Supreme Court, has already deemed it "Constitutional and Legal" for the central Federal government to control anything it wants. The only buffer is the Bill of Rights and it has been pretty well gutted and deprived of any real power to restrict Federal or state Government. "Tenthers" need to take a long hardlook at the Neccessary and Proper clause and the USSC decisions around it . The Tenth Amendment has been pretty much rendered impotent. For those who are in doubt of this, (and that should be most people, as itjust doesn't fit the "of the People. for the People and by the People" that we were taught.) Go to www.walthofman.com and look through the original writings of the founders. There is no paraphrasing or political bias on the site, just the original writings of those that built the country, and includes both sides. I'm not an expert and you shouldn't blindly buy my opinions. Read the real documents and then make your own opinions!
  2. I have owned one for many years. This is my favorite "Fishing Vest Kit Gun" and often accompanies me on "neighborhood Walks" where main threat is animals other than humans. Accurate and easy to conceal.
  3. You are stating that George W. Bush should have been impeached? He used Executive privilege 6 times during his administration. We are back into if a Republican does it, it is "constitutional" and if a Democrat does it, it is "criminal." I am an Conservative Independent voter and BS hypocrisy like this makes it harder and harder for me to vote Republican. I can't go Socialist so I have no options.
  4. Howard Cain was and still is a "consultant" (employee) of the AFP and the BR , both groups whose members are exclusively 1 Percenters (your Country Club set). As he is their man, I doubt very much that they are going against him but it does make me question just how much he is "our man" when it comes to taxes and jobs policies. Don't get to carried away with the rhetoric or hype, Cain's talk sounds good but his bonefides are very murky. The party needs to find some a more viable candidate without the direct connections to the "Bank and Corporate Mafia." Fact is, we are not doing real well right now: Bachman and her husband milked the welfare system for their personal wealth through their clinics. Perry's job creations were mostly for low wage illegal Mexicans in Texas. Plus he can't seem to get his foot out of his mouth. Cain works for the people that we need to put on a leash within the party (Uber-Wealthy) Romney is Centrist and a Morman (loses Evangelical base). The party needs to be rejuvenated to it's old true Conservative Upper Middle and Middle Class base. There are plenty of good "real" Republicans out there ( Mostly Governors and State reps)but the party is selecting the slate that the BCM ordered up. The other possibilities don't have the ties to the BCM (i.e read not bought out) so they were never even considered. The Tea Party (National Level) was a step in the right direction but was soon bought out by the Kochs (Godfathers of the BCM) but I think most of the local Tea Parties are still legit and could be a good influence in getting some control of the party back.<o:p></o>
  5. You are right on track. We need to return to the Constitution and the original system for representation. If you read the Federalist and Anti-Federalist it is pretty obvious that it was never intended for the creation of “career re-elections”. A Congressman should get 2 years, a senator 6 years and a President 4 years, PERIOD! The argument that “they need more experience”is the source of all of today’s problems. Experience= corruption. My own belief is that Congressmen should go on to Senator (thus bringing some experience) and that Governors should be the candidates for President. But everybody gets just one tour in any one office. This election I am voting against all incumbents, regardless of party. Will it disrupt the “Government(in actuality the two parties)? Sure will, and that is exactly what we need.
  6. NY#1 trigger kit on G23. A 5# trigger is way too light for carry on a gun where the only mechanical safety is the trigger.
  7. You can only fix Congress by starting all over again, and the two political parties have made sure that will never happen. They control all of the election process and pick who will be on the ballot. I am a Constitutionalist, a Conservative and an Independent voter. But as I am not very, very wealthy, I have absolutely no say in how this country is to be run. There will never be Congressional reform coming from the Congress! The "Millionaires Club" is not going to relinquish its strangle hold on the American people.
  8. "Prevailing Wisdom" on this incident as drawn from numerous gun forums: This was a Christian Conservative Republican, so we shouldn't condemn him based on Liberal, Commie media who were obviously out to burn him. This an obvious Obama Muslim left wing plot. Curry was at home reading the Bible and Constitution of the United States at the time. Where in the Constitution does it say you can't be stupid, drunk or both and not bear arms? What part of " shall not be infringed" do you not understand? In light of the fact that all of the above is a forum mantra, why are we even discussing this incident?
  9. One People, One Party, One Leader has come around before , many times. It always leads to disaster. We just need the "Era of the Individual" to get America back. The site is to let people read and come to their own conclusion of what America should be, not just buy into some powerful special interest groups' definitions. Don't sell your vote so easily, make them work for it. And with that, I am going to get off the soapbox.
  10. As soon as I am told to change my wording to counter the Left you show you are part of the Right. Both sides now determine how we are to speak, how we are to vote and ultimately how we are to live. I use plain English, if it isn't politically correct for the Left or Right I don't care. I am an American, not a Right or a Left, and it is time that we worry about the country instead of our favorite bunch of millionaires (in both parties) and vote American to get our country back. Let the parties put out their candidates and make them show what they are really going to do and then make them stand by it. I have no tears lost for the super rich nor for the miniority special interest groups. I do shed a few for the working and middle class and they have no real representation.
  11. Please do. The site is not and will not become a forum. It is to present the original documents and papers and let the reader make their interpretation.
  12. By living and breathing I meant it is still modern and in full effect. You don't need a seminary education to understand it nor a theology to interpret it.
  13. I hear much “wailing and gnashing of teeth” as to the sorry state of politics in this country. Both sides claim that a magical scriptural work known as “The Constitution” says that their way is the right way. First: The Constitution of the United States is not “Scripture”. It is a living breathing document that is supposed to be our guide for the conduct of government. To be used it must be read, not revered, and it must be understood. The best way to do this is to read the Constitution and then the works of the men who wrote it and signed it.The Federalist and the Anti-Federalist are a minimum. To get a really good grasp on the principles, you need to read George Washington’s farewell Address and some of John Jay and John Marshalls Supreme Court decisions as well. You can GOOGLE all of the above or just go to www.walthofman.com and read or download them free in .pdf format. Then read the Constitution again with your new insight. Your first observation will probably be that this Constitution is not the one you have been hearing about from the political parties. In fact, the forefathers dreaded the possible growth of “Super Parties” that would seize control of the government. Political parties, of themselves, are not a bad thing. In fact, they are a healthy outgrowth of the democratic (note: small ”d”) process, allowing blocks of voters to consolidate their power. It was never intended that the political parties would be the government, nor that they would dictate to the people. The Electoral College, as set forth in the Constitution, can and will still be effective. I am a strong Constitutionalist and I would be against “dumping” the Electoral College, as it is an integral part of the Constitution. The Constitution allows the states to develop their own system of selecting Electors.I for one, favor the proportional approach where the Electors from a state are numbered by the proportion of voters voting for an Individual candidate. (i.e. 16 Electors from a popular vote of 55% Republican and 45% Democrat would mean 9 Republican Electors and 7 Democrat Electors in the National Electoral College vote.) Tennessee currently has an “all or nothing” selection, which I feel negates some of citizens’ votes. But this is a state change to work on and not a problem with the Constitution of the U.S. Term limits do not need to be in the Constitution. This can be done by intelligent voting at the ballot booth. Just don’t send anybody back for more than two terms in any one office. We would only have to do this once or twice and the parties would get the word. We don’t need “career” politicians, we need representatives. Party lines have to be scrapped by the average citizen. I am no more a Republican or Democrat than the man on the moon. When the candidates from these parties get elected they never follow up with their party platforms and promises. I am an American citizen and worry about my family, my local community and my country at large. The parties should have to come up with some concrete programs for our good and then follow up on them, or I vote another way next time. The media keeps feeding this malarkey that we are only Patriots if we follow the party. I am a patriot because I fought for my country and I try to select candidates that will do some good for my country and neither party is doing that. Read the Constitution as it was seen through the eyes of those that made it and then vote for what is good for America and not for what is good for the special interest groups that own and dictate to the political parties. You’ll find in your readings that the Constitution gives you the protection and the mandate to do just that.
  14. I switched from a much beloved G22 to a G23 three years ago. With an HCP I wanted a gun I could carry comfortably. I know, I know, everybody should be able to carry a full sized Desert Eagle .50 AE in a Smart Carry with no problem. Just doesn't work for me. I also have some problems with the Barrett in the IWB holsters. Just stupid I guess! Maybe because I actually do carry all the time, in all modes of dress. The G23 carries much easier with light dress (Summer, Spring and Fall.) I am not a competition shooter nor do I do any precision shooting at mid-ranges so the shorter barrel doesn't handicap me. G22 or G23? Purpose should dictate.
  15. The COTUS does not address the conduct of war. It was never intended at the time of the COTUS signing that the U.S. would ever again go to war. The whole idea of a standing army and a foreign war was an anathema to the founding fathers. The COTUS was meant for the U.S. government to go about conducting the business of government within the United States. Before you launch into a Tea Party Tirade about reading the Constitution, they don'treally read it by the way, go to www.walthofman.com and read it and all of the papers of the founders there. To understand the COTUS, you really need to read The Federalist and the Anti-Federalist too. Once we enter a war situation many of the provisions of the Constitution are suspended and always have been, starting as early as the War of 1812. The Patriot Act has many violations of the Constitution in it, but has been upheld as legal and binding. (And still in effect!) As far as these committees are concerned, every nation of any size on this earth has an organization that assassinates foreigners and sometimes their own citizens and a political body that decides who and where.
  16. We are at war. This scumbag was a Traitor and an enemy. In war you kill your enemies, you don't ask their political affiliation ot club membership, you just kill them. Quit trying to moralize over the most immoral act of all, WAR! MGySgt USMC (Ret)
  17. This man was a traitor and actively engaged in terrorist activities toward the United States during a time of war (We are at War, remember?) He is an ENEMY and killing is justified. If Bush had done this he would now be praised as a hero, since Obama did it we are discussing this stupid logic. Governments don't toe any line during war. Governments kill people during war, sometimes theirs and sometimes ours. That is a lesson that war-loving civilian hawks need to learn when they are so eager to send young men off to war. You are not there to win "hearts and minds" you are there to murder people: men, women and kids. There is no right or wrong, just death. I killed and I sleep like a baby, it was part of my job. There is no morality in war. MGySgt USMC (Ret)
  18. "I'm hoping this guy has his HCP takin away for good." Why are you in favor of taking away his Second Amendment rights? It says everybody can bear arms, not just smart people. Bearing arms means more than carrying arms it also includes the use of arms. This guy had a Second Amendment right to shoot himself. I think we all need to write the NRA and make sure that all the states pass laws enabling us to shoot ourselves in the leg. Another reason I don't buy into straight Constitutional (permitless) handgun carry, there are too many idiots out there who are too unstable or stupid to be carrying guns!
  19. Yo, you be the man! Tried my SuperFly without the flap/guard. Fits! still a little close for any kind of a quick grab, but i could live with it. Still think I am going to stick with my Wranglers/Faded Glory jeans for future buys though, bodacious pockets!
  20. Just to put all the standard post BS to rest. This has nothing to do with Obama, Pelosi, Reid, orthe Federal Reserve. This was an industry thing not the government. The fact is that the market for big heavy gas hogs is drying up. Local police have been switching to mid sized cars (mainly budgets and gas costs) for the last decade. Local LEAs no longer go for long fast pursuits. Get the plates and set up road blocks works better. The Sheriffs' Departments around here seem to have transitioned to smaller SUV types. About the only agencies that could justify the big cars would be the state police and all of them together don't buy enough new cars annually to justify keeping the production line open. The fact that the last ones are built in Canada isn't a surprise. Most of the auto manufacturers moved out of U.S. to some degree to utilize cheaper foreign labor. The trick with the Canadians is that they don't need the big benefit packages. The government takes care of their medical care and retirement. Industry just pays wages. The truth is that American manufacturers just don't want to pay for American labor. Bottom line is all that counts. If all of the American labor force should die of a mysterious plague tomorrow it wouldn't bother the Big American industries in the least. We have already died out as a market, we don'thave any money! No government can create job markets, only industry can and industry just doesn't care. They can make the money without us. Brace for a long Depression, we're in it and we are going to stay in it.
  21. This is strictly for those who pocket carry. I carry a 642 or a 637 in right front pocket. My wife recently decided I need to upgrade my blue jeans to a "better" brand.I normally wear Wranglers or Faded Glory relaxed Fit Carpenter jeans. She bought me a pair of Dickies (cost twice as much, so have to be "nicer") Relaxed Fit Carpenter Jeans. Right front pocket is tiny for blue jeans! With all of my holsters but one, The grip sticks out of top of pocket. Also, I cannot get my hand in around grip, and I have very small hands! Nemesis and GALCO Pro are extremely tight fit and grips are showing. Pro-Grabber and Bianchi Pocket Change are a total no-fit. Forget Mika, no way! The only holster that I have that fits is the Aholster (Kydex) and it fits real good. I still have problem with getting both hand and gun in pocket however. Taking jeans to tailor would help length but width is the problem. For at least this case, more expensive is not better! (Please don't tell me what a fool I am that I didn't buy the $49.95 special "Tactical"jeans . If you can't fit your weapon and holster into market clothing, IMHO you are carrying the wrong weapon or you are one of those real Politicians with several million dollars of other peoples' money in your bank account. I don't pay $49.95 for dress pants, much less for blue jeans. In the meantime, I will reserve the Dickies for winter wear when I can OWB with a sweater or a jacket.
  22. Uh oh, this is not a good thing. Check out the sheep, it has claws, fangs and piercing eyes!

  24. As a retired Public High School teacher, a few thoughts: I dealt with a lot of intercity children, black and white, and the use of MF was very common. On the first day of school I wrote the following on the board: Yes, I am married and do have children. Yes I do still sleep with my wife. Yes, I am a MF, this is the true meaning of the words. It is not an insult to me, it simply states my status. It is a waste of your time to remind me of my quite proper and legal status. Use other words that are proper and appropriate to address me, more time efficient! Damn btw is not necessarily a short version of GD. There are many who study the language who believe it is a short version of "Well, I'll be damned!" which is self reflective and not a curse. I never really got upset at the use of the word. I tried to steer the students to use more appropriate language, but as this was usually simply an expletive used during a moment of stress, it never really bothered me. The fact that I also spent 30 years active duty in the USMC may help explain my tolerance for language. Teacher had no right to ask anything about what occurs in the home. Totally off limits there.
  25. Ron Paul cannot be elected or even nominated because the Republican Party will not allow it. He doesn't really have all that much money. Although a millionaire, he is a relative pauper compared to the other congressmen. He is a self made man. He made his own fortune. This is an anathema to the ruling elite. No mere "member of the masses" should ever be allowed to accumulate wealth. It is to be inherited as their GOD intended. ( I do sometimes think we have different GODs, mine doesn't say you have to be born rich to be a good man.) He hasn't taken big money from the Industrial Masters. Especially interesting is , although a Physician, he has not taken the big bucks from the Drug or HMO industries. Sure sign that he is "UnAmerican", possibly a Commie? Never trust an honest man, the Political Parties don't. He votes with his head and is notorious for not toeing the mark and following the Party Line. Again, maybe a little pink in his philosophy? He doesn't run with the Ruling Elite and has very suspect ties to the middle class. He actually has friends among these Socialist, Communist, and quite possibly Muslim vermin. Rush has some really good thoughts on this. All in all he is not a good Republican and the party isn't even sure he is a good American. If FOX NEWS was not a Ruling Elite parrot and really did stand for what they say they do, they would back Ron Paul to the limit. But FOX is the voice of the "Born Rich" wealthy elite and will back the oil people and giant super corporations thereby letting the small business folks go down the toilet. I don't trust any news media anymore, they all have the wrong agendas. I am not a Socialist nor a Plutocrat,so the TV News is of no use to me at all. As a free market (true free market) advocate , a believer that America needs a strong, small business and professional middle class, small government, and as a Conservative, I love this guy and will vote for him if he runs as an Independent. Hell, I'll even campaign for him locally!
