  1. I read One Second After, and it really opened my eyes. Finishing book 3 of "Going Home" now, and I'm really enjoying the series. No air support or fire teams available here, but very entertaining.
  2. Yep, did a transfer with them a few weeks ago. Nice folks, and the x-fer fee was in the neighborhood of $15 or so.
  3.   You're a lucky guy then. My Wally World is nothing like that.  A few boxes of 5.56, 7.62x39, and some other random calibers. Plenty of birdshot, though.   The resellers are there in force every morning at 7am.
  4. I checked out the PT709, and ended up going with the Shield 9. Side-to-side, they were almost identical, but I went with the Shield because I am very fond of my full size M & P. YMMV. Lots of folks like the Taurus.
  5. Arfcom had a thread about the one-box per caliber issue today. Many said B.S., but it sounds like the one mentioned above is on board. That is a good thing. Stabilize the availability.
  6. Just for the avatar.
  7. Agreed. My argument is that, if one is trying to say that a weapons platform(s) is junk, one which, by the way, has probably taken as many, if not more, lives than any other in modern warfare/conflict, one should probably not classify such a platform or its ammunition as crap, because 50 years of history sure seems to show that its doing the job. And there would be many, many people - lots of them dead or wounded- who would not classify it so in the least.
  8. I'll bet you $10 there are a lot of vets from 'Nam, and probably Korea too, who would wholeheartedly disagree with you about that. You know, being on the receiving end of all that inferior stuff and all. My dad was in the Marines in Hue, during Tet, and he and his gang sure respected the hell out of that stuff.
  9. Back in the day, they used to take the Sears & Roebuck catalog in the outhouse with them. For two reasons.
  10. I wasn't really looking for anything but reloading stuff from Sam/David, so I wasn't pricing ammo or guns. I did see a few crates of Mosins. Maybe a little high on those. The show wasn't in its normal location- it was across the street by the 'cow milking area', if you know where that is. It felt really cramped in there to me.
  11. Extremely crowded.
  12. Oohrah!
  13.     Why yes, I did read it, thanks.   I did not associate, from the wording of the article, that there were (2) 500 rd boxes in a 1000 rd box. The 'intermediate' box, as you pointed out. That was not terribly clear, if you are someone like me who does not have a long history with 1000 rd boxes of .22 in this day and age.
  14. Guess you have to call if you have one of the 1000rd boxes.  No lot number on those.
  15. Is that where the air smells 'red'?
  16. Not sure if its been posted in this thread yet or not... but my HCP # is the same as my DL #. Seems likely they'd know....
  17. Arghh... that was a beauty. Sorry man, that really sucks.
  18. Look into Golden Retriever rescue of TN. Give a great dog a chance to live a happy life.
  19. Cant you have Advance or Auto Zone read the codes for you?
  20. Military members and family of military.
  21. I've been with USAA for 15 years, and couldn't be happier. Cars, insurance, banking, mastercard. Everything but mortgage. They are awesome, and have tremendous customer service.
  22. My wife has T-Mobile on her work phone.  Terrible coverage if you ever get out of a highly populated area.
  23. I had walking pneumonia last year. The worst I've ever felt, and sickest I've ever been. I wish you a speedy recovery.....
  24. I read an article earlier this week that projected that, since firearms sales are beginning to taper off since a) Obama's reelection, b)Newtown, and c) the big push last year for gun control, that ammunition demand and sales would continue to be very strong through this year, at least-  not only for those who already owned firearms, but also for those new gun owners who decided to purchase firearms recently since all of those events happened.   Of course, the new status quo will probably change dramatically if some other tragedy happens, reigniting the fire, or, if the midterms work out in favor of the dems.   A $12 box of .223 or $29/100 box of 12ga. may be the least of our concerns if something like that happens.
