  1. English is widely considered to be the international language - most people I know <60 in Europe are fluent in English. If you were to move to Greece (or any other country), would you expect them to cater to you or would you learn the local language in order to be able to communicate?
  2. It took them over two hours to get him out of the bathroom stall he accidentally locked himself into...
  3. Because the libs have done a fantastic job of building an irrational fear of guns into the general public.
  4. You've never been to a bar and not had an alcoholic beverage? Wow.
  5. First Amendment abuse will not *directly* cause you harm. To compare the two is specious at best. And honestly, while the liberals don't care for the 2A, I care for 1A as much as they do...
  6. Well, the reality is the rest of the BoR don't include rights that, if abused, can immediately impinge upon others' rights (or even kill). I'm 100% against gun control and agree that being a law-abiding citizen of the US should be all I need to carry, but acting as if there's NO logical reason to feel otherwise is either short-sighted or disingenuous, imo. (added for my son)
  7. A very fine line / gray area. Like most here, I'd not even have one drink if I were carrying - not only because of the discretionary aspect of the law, but should a worst-case scenario happen and a blood test be administered...
  8. Nah, primarily just chlorine. Let it sit for a bit and most of the chlorine will evaporate. I'd boil it. Edited to add - sorry, forgot your question. Some water filters will remove dissolved minerals and chemicals, but they have to have a charcoal filter to do so. Since chlorine evaporates into the air, especially when the water is heated, leaving chlorinated water in the sun for a while will allow most of the chlorine to dissipate. I'd boil it as there are other things in pools besides the chlorine (think of kids swimming) that I'd prefer removing... Also, Katadyn makes a nice little carbon cartridge you can add to your filter: http://www.rei.com/product/709006
  9. No, they make a separate ($$$) unit for desalination. Luckily, no salt water around here (well, nearby pool is saline, but it's not included in my number above).
  10. Yah, we have some 120,000 gallons of water within 100' of our house in swimming pools. Besides our own water store, of course.
  11. Yah, I have a Katadyn Pocket and can't say enough good things about it...
  12. Depends on your personality, I guess, but when you're cranked up on adrenaline and chatting with 'friendly' police officers, you could say just the wrong thing...
  13. Excellent point. For those of us who haven't the life experiences you guys (especially LEO) have had, it's a more dangerous world, to be sure...
  14. I took the class there, also, and was given primo information from a different instructor. This particular school has a fantastic reputation regarding permit instruction. From what the wife said, it sounded as if he was simply unprepared and thought he knew what he was talking about.
  15. The class my wife took at a highly respected place was taught by a local LEO and contained several wrong things that I later corrected (and even emailed the details to her friends who were in the class with her). Things like: - illegal to carry on airport property - illegal to carry in banks - circle slash is legal, carries same legal ramifications as 'properly posted' Pretty sad, doubly so that he was a LEO.
  16. Nominated.
  17. Sickening how indifferent some people are. Just sickening...
  18. Hahaha It's not just NO danger, it's NOSE danger. That's like 11, more than 10.
  19. So many variables involved, no way to answer. Like, what if there's an automobile between you and the assailant? He could be less than 3 yards away and pose NOSE imminent danger...
  20. Not to pile on or anything, but as cheap as digital cameras are nowadays, there's no excuse to not have digital photos of the serial numbers and distinguishing features of every firearm you own saved somewhere safe.
  21. Au contraire...
  22. Umm, ok.
  23. G27

    Drinkin' problem.

Beer and whiskey are fine together unless you have two X chromosomes...
  24. Even easier - simply let them know that while the anchor baby can live here legally, the parents cannot unless they are legal. The choices are to put the child up for adoption or take them with you as you get out.
  25. Well, Obama is talking about his future voters...
