    Nah, the EMP is directly correlated to the size of the nuclear detonation - for a HEMP to affect the entire CONUS it would have to be at least 1.2MT and detonate @ >200 miles. If it were as as simple as implied above, it would have happened long ago.

    Watched it off DVR last night, actually thought it was pretty good. I suspect they'll ruin it with the drama aspect as it goes on, but so far, so good. Even the wife liked it.

    Indeed. More than a few of us suspect BP is less concerned with plugging this leak than they are of losing their entire investment in this well, hence the seemingly half-*ssed attempts.
