Yep, that pesky 14th Amendment means we'd have to have another amendment to the constitution. I'd like to see that happen, but for now, I'm following the law of the land.

Eat what you store, store what you eat. It's the fundamental tenet of prepping. There's no need in storing tons of MRE's and such - just store a lot of what you enjoy eating with some regularity. If you plan properly and store stuff that will last a while, rotation is easy - you basically have a very large pantry.

Hehe, I've decided to guard what I say closely after reading some things others have said recently on other forums that seemed, err, dangerous. I'm ready for pitchforks and torches in 2010, but have decided it's better to speak softly...

It's easy to argue either way - Kyl could be trying to force Obama to act, but empirical evidence would suggest that Obama is using it as a bargaining chip. I suspect we'll not know the truth as if Kyl is telling the truth, the public backlash may be strong enough to move for impeachment.

I don't think anyone believes Obama is pro-gun in way - the point is we've had some horrible anti-gun legislation passed under previous presidencies - both republican and democrat - and so far Obama hasn't touched guns with a 10' pole. Do I think we should assume Obama won't do anything regarding guns? Nope - we must remain diligent, regardless of who is in office. But so far, Obama has been far more of a friend to the industry and to our rights than some of our previous presidents.
