Yah, seems like that would be hedging bets, assuming the worst. I mean, what happens if Reid wins due in part to their endorsement but the repubs take controls of the Senate? Then you still have this guy who is, in seemingly every way, bad for the country in DC. IOW, it's more important to get him out of DC than it is to worry about the what-ifs, imo. I know they're a single issue organization, but there has to be SOME look at the big picture here. if they endorse Reid, they;re dead to me.

Think chicken/egg. The reason so many bands make their money off touring now is because so many folks have NO problem stealing music. I dunno, I don't really care what people charge in a free market economy. I certainly don't begrudge labels charging as much as they can for a product - it's what any successful business does.

Well, technically, you own nothing you paid for - you are paying for a license. That aside, sure, there's tons of great music out there. Regardless, anyone who thinks music ought to be free needs to understand that downloading stuff without paying for it screws the artist - NOT the labels. Everyone gets hurt, but the artists feels it the most. Don't think the great music you love will ever go away? Keep stealing it - recordings still cost a LOT of money to do right.

I think the fedgov loses no matter what. If they win in court, the public outcry will be deafening and they will have to act in some manner. It will make illegal immigration the number one concern of many / most Americans. If they lose, tons of states will enact similar laws and do what they are unwilling to do.

Depending on how metaphorical you believe the old testament to be, there's are a few different ways science and creation can coexist. An oft overlooked example by strict creationists is that we have no idea how long Adam and Eve lived in the garden before the fall. They had access to the tree of life and did not experience death - they could have lived for literally billions of years before the fall. And of course the allusion above to time - we have no idea how long the creation story took.

There's more - it actually uses more petroleum in the production (farm equipment and processing) than it replaces! Ethanol is the perfect example of a solution that's worse than the problem.
