  1. I carry a p3at in my pocket at home constantly. We live in a very low crime area, but every area is 'safe' until it's not...
  2. I thought he was pretty good in Heat. Though I think his best performance was in Tombstone.
  3. Very happy with mine, will be ordering more soon for the new build...
  4. The recurring argument here seems to revolve around one's rights vs another's, while ignoring the fact that you have the CHOICE to work where you do. Sure, I know that leaving a company after XX years with X children to support etc., etc., is a nearly impossible thing to contemplate, but what what you're suggesting is that one person give up their rights for what boils down to your convenience. FWIW. Y'all have fun.
  5. Yah, not looking like there's a ton of experience with them around here. Looks like I might just need to be the lab rat!
  6. The wife and I are both there.
  7. Re: the video "Lots of times when you're fighting with a sword..." Really? And yah, he looks like he's done lots of sword fighting - his level of fitness is astonishing...
  8. Just curious if anyone around here has (or has experience with) an AR upper chambered in .40S&W. I'm spec'ing out another AR and thinking of picking up one of these (or building one) as I have tons of .40S&W and like the round. Thoughts? Bueller? Bueller? TIA...
  9. As Leroy mentioned earlier - the property owner has the right to do so under many employment contracts. But even if they didn't, if they searched it illegally, they would be charged with something like 'breaking and entering', not as a violation of your civil (constitutional) rights. Just because I'm pro-gun doesn't mean the other parts of the BoR are trumped by that. I happen to see both sides of this situation, unlike some here who only seem to recognize their own rights.
  10. You are completely wrong here, Robert. There are laws that are based on / mirror the US Constitution's constraints that apply to people, businesses, etc - but the US Constitution applies only to the government. Agree completely - we don't ban anything in our places of business and I've always encouraged my employees to arm themselves at al times. But I suspect I'm in a small percentage of business owners who want to support 2A in my place of business. Really, you have to stoop to insults (phrase them how you wish, the point stands)? I like that fact that we've stayed above that sort of tripe in this thread. Have fun, I'm done.
  11. Thanks for posting.
  12. Probably gonna Netflix this one, but I am interested in seeing it.
  13. And for the record, TN is an EAW state.
  14. If you cannot see the difference between these two, then I suppose there's zero point in discussing it further. Because you are parking your property on their property. Park off their property and you can keep what you want in your vehicle. The extension of your personal property logic means that you can carry anything you want on your person (your clothes and your body are your 'personal property') and your employer could do nothing about it. So, according to your argument, you should be allowed to walk around with a gun (or porn, or anything else that is legal but not desired by your employer) in the open, in your hand, as your hand is your property. You really think that makes sense?
  15. To be honest, I can't imagine Trump as president, but for all those who say electing Obama was a mistake, I have a bit of a different perspective... Under Bush, spending was out of control and none of the measures we needed to take to avoid economic downfall were put in place. Now imagine if we had elected someone more fiscally moderate than Obama - 99% of Americans would continue on shopping while the country went to economic hell. Obama's 'Bush-on-steroids' spending policies have awakened many who slept through the last eight years and likely would have continued sleeping. They say it darkest just before dawn (which makes no sense to me outside of someone looking for a cheery cliché, but whatever) and I think that Obama has finally awakened sleep-walking conservatives all over to the dangers of drunken-sailor spending like we've seen over the last decade. It's sad it's taken such a slap in the face to make people sit up and realize just how stupid our economic policies have been for so long, but finally people are talking about it and realizing the destructive nature of our habits - I don't think these conversations would have happened had the fire continued to slowly increase beneath the pot of water... So while it's too early to proclaim Obama as the worst president early (he's making a good bid, mind you, but FDR and Wilson each have a strong hand), I believe his election and policies have brought us to the (necessary) tipping point where we, as a people, decide if we want to continue to blaze our own path based on individual liberties (both personal and fiscal) or follow the policies of the old world (Europe) which lead, inevitably imo, to destruction of those liberties. Our collective reaction to Obama's policies will determine our future. Much better than sitting distracted in the pot while the heat is slowly turned up until it's too late. I don't think we would be having the necessary discussions we're having on such a widespread scale had someone more moderate been elected. I do believe we're probably past the tipping point and rough times are ahead, but hopefully the awakened and re-energized conservatives will remain true to their core and get this country on the right path.
  16. The US Constitution applies only to the federal government, not private property owners. I can kick you off my land because of your race, creed, religion or any reason I wish - there's no part of the US Constitution that applies to me as a property owner. Do you really think because of 1A you can stand on your employer's property and burn the flag or carry a sign with a denigrating message about said employer if they don't want you to?
  17. To understand the U.S. federal budget, divide by 100,000,000 - Boing Boing
  18. I can't imagine a gun collection not having one. They're really fun to shoot. Not sure why everyone says they kick like a mule, though. They have more recoil than an AR, sure, but it's like you'll look like an Arab trying out a .577 T-Rex...
  19. Yah, I know. I'm just making the point that regardless of the letter beside the name of the president, or who is running congress, this out of control spending has been happening for some time. IOW, we need to face the fact that the repubs aren't our saviors - they're historically (recent history) no better than the dems wrt fiscal responsibility...

  21. CBO: Budget deal cuts this fiscal year’s deficit by just $353 million, not $38 billion touted - The Washington Post So, not $38 billion, but rather $353 million... Still think the repubs did a great thing for us? Both parties suck and neither one of them has the balls to do what needs to be done. Vote 'em all out.
