Not gonna happen - not only would it be political suicide (just look at what's happened regarding gun laws over the last few years along with the recent SCOTUS decisions) but this is one of the few things that would likely incite a violent reaction from some. If they want a civil war, this is an almost guaranteed way to start it.

Bingo. So tired of the republican support I hear from conservatives all over - when the republican party actually embraces conservative action, both in legislation and in spending, then we can talk. Until then the only difference between them and the dems is the letter beside their name.

My goodness, our legislators continue to embarrass us almost daily. They know we aren't going to show up en masse and throw them out of the building, so they continue to play stupid games and pass stupid laws...

So again, how is this different from 'pulling the plug' or not furnishing nutrition to a patient - common end of life occurrences handled by doctors? Those are actions taken by the physician to end the life of the patient at their orders...

This - big +1. Fact is, as a Christian, I don't think suicide is the 'right thing to do', but I'm not about to impose my moral beliefs on someone else. Liberty isn't always pretty, but it IS always better than the alternative....

I have this app that I use to listen to SCS and MPD every once in a while. Pretty interesting.

While it's fun to throw up all sorts of extreme examples of killing off grandma and grandpa (sarcasm), how do you explain pulling the plug on life support according to the wishes of the patient? And for the record, what Dr. K did (in all but one case, iirc) was set up the system so the patient could kill themselves.
