  1. Good grief, I'd LOVE to hear the law behind this one. I don't leave my property unarmed, so I always have ID on me, but were I in his situation I'd be strongly tempted to decline and follow up with a lawsuit based on the cop's further action.
  2. Yep - I respect the police and what they do for our communities. I'm not going to consent to a search, but I'm going to treat them with kindness and respect. You don't have to be a prick to stand up for your rights.
  3. I've got nothing to hide, don't use any drugs, never drink and drive, etc. Yet I'll never consent to a search. That said, I've never been asked. I suspect most officers have a well developed 'sixth sense' about people and behaviors.
  4. Thanks for the recommendation, added to my Amazon wish list. http://www.amazon.com/Gun-C-J-Chivers/dp/0743271734/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1321320987&sr=8-1
  5. Bush isn't in office any more, but if they can prosecute him for this, go for it. This is coming to light under Obama's watch, so yah, he should take the blame for it, too. Whether he 'knew about it' or not matters not - when you're the president (or CEO, or whatever) what happens on your watch is your responsibility. Throw 'em all in jail.
  6. Yah, Applecare+ is far better than any case.
  7. Apple does build quality stuff. I once washed my original iPhone in a pants pocket - didn't find it until I heard a rhythmic thumping coming from the dryer - and after letting it sit for a few days in sealed container of oat meal (to absorb the humidity) it worked just as it did new. Still does, to this day.
  8. That's CRAZY cool!
  9. Unpossible.
  10. Roll Tide!
  11. Ordered mine from Apple, arrived about 10 days ago.
  12. While I agree, he grew up with John Sandusky (Sandusky's son) so there's a chance McQueary was also a Sandusky victim, in which case any sort of 'odd' response could be understood.
  13. Can't find the link but I read somewhere that McQueary ended up reporting Sandusky to the police, but they didn't pursue it. Under PA law, he can't be fired if he reported it to the police. That said, they'll surely find a way to get rid of him, even if they have to reassign him until the new coaching fires him to bring in his own staff. Assuming there is a football program in the future...
  14. Nice over-reaction - I said nothing like that. Our rights are respected at a very basic levels - that's all I said. Good grief.
  15. Unreal. I complain about our laws here in TN sometimes, but am thankful we live in a state that respects the very basic rights at some level. Good for her for doing this and reporting about it. Hopefully the NRA can help, though it's a bit disconcerting that they didn't even know they didn't offer the safety course...
  16. I'd say that's a pretty sensible law, actually... *ducks*
  17. Wellllllll, technically a 'radio' is any device that can receive radio broadcasts (any modulated signal below visible light) - cell phones, wifi connected devices, etc. can all be classified as 'radios'...
  18. I heard MSRP of $595.
  19. great story, thanks for posting.
  20. With the deems holding the senate, it's pointless to do anything at this point.
  21. Occam's razor.
  22. A large enough solar flare could generate an EMP greater than anything man could ever hope to pull off.
  23. Argentina - economic collapse of a decade ago.
  24. Maybe you missed this earlier in the thread - an updated list of islamic terror attacks over the last two months: Islam: Making a True Difference in the World - One Body at a Time Remember, that list is just in the last two months. It's truly mind boggling.
  25. Haha, funny, but inaccurate - there's nothing in the bible that advocates killing yourself in order to get your reward. Quite the opposite, in fact...
