Well, to be specific, it's not a constitutional federal power. Fire depts are local gov, as they should be under the 10A. By rationalizing the usurping of power by our FedGov, we've allowed it to bloat and grow far beyond what it should.

Does that mean I think it's a good idea to tell the government what you have in your preps? Absolutely not.

So anonymity vs someone at your front door aren't vastly different situations to you? I have no idea what you're asking / saying here. Are you suggesting it's 'cheaper' to rely on the government in a time of need than it is to be self sufficient?

My point of playing dumb is this - I'd rather blend in than draw attention to myself. Sure, I'd rather go off on them, blow them off, whatever, but if things go south, blending in will be more valuable than your preps.

My response would be: "Uhh, we have a few days worth of food in the pantry, isn't that good enough?"

Yah, I turned lidar detection off on mine - it's pointless. If it goes off, just turn on the blinker and look for a place safe to stop. Yah, believe it or not I obey the speed limit 95% of the time (heck I generally only use my detector on trips anymore). Trying to speed everywhere you go is a recipe for disaster - and I'm not talking about speeding tickets.

Whatever. I can't count the number of times an officer was hitting cars with instant-on and I read it from the splash / spread from cars ahead of me. Yah, if I was the only car on the road, I was speeding and the officer hit me with an instant burst, I'd get a ticket. But I live in the real world and I know it's saved my bacon a few times. You sound like someone who hasn't learned how to use a good radar detector...

And heck, he got worse as the years went by - his recruiting obviously blows as compared to Willingham. Either that or he cannot develop players. Then he should be perfect. He's proved he's not a very good head coach and heck, his offense at UF was, well, offensive. It's a real head-scratcher from Kansas. Case in point: every single one of my UF friends (I grew up in Florida, so I know tons) is THRILLED that he's gone. Not a single person wishes he had stayed...

Yah, my detector works great - 99% of the radar operators I've come across in the southeast just sit there with it on all the time - you can see them for miles. Even the instant-on guys are usually spotted when they hit someone in front of you. LIDAR seems to be used very, very little.

Out of 120 FBS teams, OSU's defense is ranked: 84th in rushing defense 102nd in passing defense 107th in total defense 61st in scoring defense That's pretty awful. Agreed. Both teams will play more loose as it's winner takes all. I suspect we'll see something along the lines of 24-21.

I see this over and over and can't fathom it. Those who vote for 'the lesser of two evils' are the ones causing this. Blaming those who are trying to make a difference is ludicrous. If Obama is re-elected, blame those that voted for Obama and the republican party for not promoting someone worth a damn - not people who are actually voting for someone they think is the solution to our problems.

Good thing the good, constitution-respecting repubs didn't support this! Oh, wait... It's time to clean house.
