  1. I've got so many other things I want before a second AR, I'm thinking they'll be banned before I fully catch BRD...
  2. Search is your friend: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10489&
  3. RangeUSA in Memphis has a female HCP instructor. A bit of a hike, sure, but you can take the single day-long course...
  4. http://www.chuckhawks.com/drt_ammo.htm Reminds me of the BoT review of EXTREME SHOCK. Bunch' BS.
  5. I just c-n-p'd from the site...
  6. http://1saleaday.com/ Item is as follows: Garmin StreetPilot c530 3.5 Inch Portable GPS Navigator with Traffic Receiver - RB for $99.99 ($5.99 shipping). If you're wanting an in-car GPS, this looks like an inexpensive way to get one. Just bought one for the wife's van.
  7. +1 Seriously, after reading this, I wonder how anyone could vote against him.
  8. Ahh, I ruined the joke - bad delivery... I don't really have a budget, I'll just do it as I have the time and cash. I'm a research hound about stuff like this and so I took my time to pick the manufacturer I wanted to buy from, and Anvil fit the bill perfectly.
  9. What is this "budget" you speak of? Oh, I will. And you have to pretend to be interested. hehe
  10. I'm gonna get the Anvil Arms full upper (16"bbl) and the adjustable stock - that's about it. Ho-hum compared to many, but I'm a pretty low-key guy with my firearms...
  11. It's invisible! Probably just a basic 16" with adjustable stock. Not into tacticool accessories or anything, though I will go with a flat-top upper and add the handle. Something like this:
  12. And so it begins...
  13. That's gonna be a pretty big sign...
  14. IIRC, there's one here in Memphis that has it posted that all guns should be unloaded.
  15. That would work, as long as you didn't turn the microwave on! hehe
  16. With Bernie and Isaac gone, I'd be watching my back if I were Samuel L. Jackson... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1111948/ "These things come in THREES!!!"

    "Logging In"

Safari logs me in as well.
  18. Busted what part? That it disables cars or electronics or what? Both have been proved extensively. The only variables is pulse intensity and the angle that the car is primarily hit from. Some modern autos might survive but: [ame] [/ame]
  19. Indeed, disabling satellites is a huge undertaking - one that few, if any, of our enemies could actually do. That being said, an EMP strike would render GOS receivers useless unless they were protected or were at the far reaches of the pulse.
  20. Because the wavelengths from the EMP can fit underneath your car / through the windows / in other gaps. Not to mention that the car's body isn't isolated from the ground. A Faraday cage is any metal 'cage' (can be solid metal) that insulates the items inside from the magnetic field generated by the EMP. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faraday_cage
  21. Only if they were pre-electronic ignition and pre-electronic fuel-pump. And even then, you'd probably find you'd need some parts to get it running. A diesel is about the only transportation that's EMP proof (assuming mechanical fuel pump and a replacement (or old) glow plug controller). A Faraday cage is the easiest, though you must mind your P's and Q's when building one. Not simple to protect an automobile, but some backup electronics insulated in a closed ammo can (or a garbage can) would be fine. Granted, the chances of something like this happening are very, very, very, very remote. It's just an exercise to show how easily we could fall off the edge, so to speak...
  22. What is HEMP? I'm laughing as I type this, but do you mean pot, or what? Haha, no - HEMP is the acronym for "High Altitude Electro Magnetic Pulse". http://www.todaysengineer.org/2007/Sep/HEMP.asp In rough summation, anything electronic would be fried. There are exceptions, of course, but a HEMP attack would pretty much move us back to the 19 century instantly. Best estimations suggest a relatively small (1.4 megaton) nuclear blast at an altitude of about 200 miles (that's the tough part) would basically destroy all electronics in North America instantly. That being said, a smaller yield weapon could be detonated as low as 20 miles in altitude and would be capable of crippling up to 40% of the continental US. Imagine all communications, autos, computers, even electrical service - anything electronic - is suddenly useless. How long before post-Katrina looks like a walk in the park?
  23. A simple HEMP attack would bring this country to it's knees faster than just about anything else. I'm not paranoid, but having a decent understanding of how simple it would be (relatively speaking) to really hurt us makes one consider preparing for those possibilities...
  24. I'm no fan of Bush, but isn't it a bit much to choose the flag (specifically the lack of respect shown to said flag) to focus your disgust on while proclaiming we should vote for Obama? I mean, seriously?
