Anything for our favor! And never trust the government's math skills!

Using the provided numbers, accidental deaths/gun = 0.0000188. 10X less than what's written above...

Color me jealous! I'm thinking of refinishing my SKS and my MN's but am unsure whether blasting the old surface is necessary or not - have you refinished/duracoated anything that old/worn yet? Do you think media blasting is necessary if the surface is clean (only some nicks and scratches in the original bluing)? Are you willing to media blast stuff for folks (for a fee, of course)? If I need to start a new thread, just lemme know...

Would throwing money at the problem help? Perhaps you could have multiple-level benefactors. The current benefactor status would remain, and you could add one or two more 'exclusive' levels for those able and willing to donate to allow more capital for upgrades. Not sure what you could offer the 'bigger' donors or if it even helps, just a thought...

As soon as you tie the country to a specific religion - Christianity IS a religion (it's is one of the six major religions of the world) - you've climbed upon a slippery slope. It's only a matter of time until some non-Christian group becomes the majority and rewrites the rules in their favor. Sharia law anyone? And while the country was founded on very general Judea-Christian principles, there's a reason there's no specific mention of ANY religion in the foundational documents of this country. Hard to argue with the Treaty of Tripoli...

Really sorry to hear, man.

I think maybe we, as a group of constitution-loving conservatives, should form a party that will represent the conservatives of this country without these glaring deficiencies...

I've looked at it and it has some real positives, but the theocratic approach is wrong, imo - and I'm a devout Christian. The country needs a sense of morality, yes, but tying it to a specific religion is dangerous and quite ignorant of the history of the country.

Yah, thats kinda what I was thinking. I mean if I walk out and find someone messing with my car, I'm going to draw my firearm before confronting them.
-
What constitutes 'deadly force'? Is it brandishing a firearm or actually discharging it? Certainly one could confront a thief on his property armed and be legal, right?

For me: reliability first and foremost - must be abel to fire reliably regardless of circumstances availability of ammo accuracy Nothing else matters. Explains why my two primary carry guns are a G27 and G22...

I always carry with one in the chamber, but after practicing draw+2's yesterday (for the first time in a while) I was further convinced of this practice. Every fraction-of-a-second delay could mean your (or a loved one's) life...

what is on your adult beverage menu for the evening?

Agreed, but it's the only 'light beer' I can stand... -
I never suggested this administration had the balls to do what was necessary should it come to pass - but my point stands. NK has done nothing requiring attention thus far. Our allies are our allies but they aren't our men - the sooner we stop acting as a world-wide police state the better we'll all be. We should sit back and ignore them. If/when they feel froggy, we then respond with everything we've got. There's no need for feet on the ground or a protracted war. Unfortunately, we've not had anyone in the White House in decades that understands dealing with children...

Their food is 'meh' anyway, no big loss there...
-
How do you deal with them? You deal with them as you would any petulant child - you ignore the temper tantrum until they realize it won't work. If they challenge us militarily, we reign hell down on them, otherwise we ignore them. It's really very simple, unless your mind is similarly simple.
-
Too bad, I've heard such good things about their food. Guess I'll never know. Oh well, there are plenty of decent restaurants that aren't discriminatory.

Will do, thanks for the link!

Well, I have a rather longish Apple story I feel needs to be shared... My 20" iMac (early 2006 model) fell out of AppleCare warranty on May 8th. On June 1st I awakened to notice it was turned off. Curious, I turned it back on, only to see the dreaded question mark-folder. I spent an hour or so trying to get the HDD to come alive, to no avail (no worries as I have Time Machine running on all my Macs). Unfortunately, as I tried using DiskWarrior, the system got progressively worse, until finally the screen wouldn't light up at all and there was no boot chime. Uh oh... I took it to the Apple store, where it stayed for almost a month as they tried to find out what was wrong. Unbeknownst to me, eventually, they replaced almost everything in the iMac, never once asking for my approval to do the repairs. I received a call a week ago saying "it's ready, because it took so long, we're not charging you anything for the repair". I was thrilled! The bill turned out to be over $1k, and Apple did it for free. Cool, huh? But it doesn't end there. I brought the machine home, restored from my TM backup and realized the airport wasn't working, so I went through all the trouble-shooting to no avail - back to the Apple store. I wasn't pleased about it, but I was still glowing from their generosity so I didn't complain. Three days and a new (also free) airport card later and I was back home, ready to enjoy my Mac again. Airport was still broken. OK, now I'm upset. I spent the weekend calming down before doing an erase/install to insure something from my TM backup wasn't corrupting some network settings. Nope, still no airport. So I drive it all the way back down to the Apple store and wait for about an hour as the Geniuses look it over. Finally, Andy (I got to know several of them pretty well, in part due to my laid back approach to all this, which surprised even me) walked up to me and said "Mr Audio, I have good news!". Thinking they had it figured out, I was relieved. Then he proceeded to tell me how Apple had decided to replace my iMac with a brand new replacement. Not a refurbished one, but a brand new one. And because my iMac wasn't an 'off the shelf' model, but had been custom ordered with more RAM from the factory, they would increase the RAM in the new machine by the same percentage. Now keep in mind my Mac was not only out of warranty, but Apple had already dismissed close to $1400 in repairs on my old machine before deciding to just give me a new one! I picked up the new iMac yesterday - they gave me the new one in the box - new keyboard, mouse, everything! Unreal. No company is perfect, but this sort of action is how a company insures is has a customer for life. Kudos to Apple!
