  1. I'm assuming you are asking in jest, as the potential for trouble is far greater at the PD than elsewhere. Not to mention the fact that the PD is one of the few places where you might actually be able to rely on the police to protect you should some crazed gunman burst into the place... (that's not a slight on police, simply a point that a building full of police officers is far more likely to be able to instantly respond than some random office or store)
  2. I haven't looked, but I'd be surprised if court decisions haven't protected photogrpahs under the freedom of press clause. Agreed, but not sure how this factors into this discussion outside of the an extreme case. Pretty sure I've never said anything like that.
  3. Even a broken watch is correct twice / day...
  4. Actually, they don't. People deserve the government they elect and Kalifornia has a history of electing some of the biggest idiots on the planet...
  5. Flag ban lifted: Flag ban lifted at apartments after outcry | KATU.com - News, Weather and Sports - Portland, Oregon | Local & Regional Scumbags.
  6. I understand what you say about not wanting celebrity status or having limits, but once we allow individual's 'wants' more value than our Bill of Rights, we will lose that right. If we allow the government to start compromising the press's rights, how long before the media is controlled? You want privacy? Close your shades. Otherwise, the light reflecting off of you in your yard or anywhere else belongs to whoever captures it.
  7. .32ACP Bullet diameter .309 in (7.8 mm) .308 Winchester Bullet diameter .308 in (7.8 mm)
  8. AFAIC, you make that choice when you decide you want to be a public figure. Not to mention that one's 'feelings' shouldn't impinge upon another person's rights. First Amendment has been incorporated, so I can't imagine this will stand long. VERY slippery slope they're treading on here.
  9. I'm no fan of the so-called 'paparazzi', but find it hard to believe this could possibly be passed into law... Schwarzenegger signs new anti-paparazzi law - CNN.com California - leading the way towards the removal of your rights!
  10. I guess you'd have to just carry that in your hand - if you put in a bag or pocket, good luck getting it out in a hurry!
  11. "You should see the other guy..."
  12. I think they're both 7.8mm bullets, though the .32 is like .001 greater diameter.
  13. Tasty snack food. You forgot tasty. My point is that in both cases the crime is the SAME. If you start basing punishment on how emotionally hurt someone is by what was spray-painted or yelled, then justice will never be served.
  14. But there are no disparities in these cases, legally - nor should there be, imo. If the Hispanic guy punches me because I'm white or because I yelled at his kid - doesn't matter. If your child was killed by being punched in a fight, thus falling and cracking his head on the ground, would you be OK with the criminal getting a lesser charge / sentence than the guy who attacked someone based on who they slept with? Sorry, the only logic I see in your examples is of the pretzel variety.
  15. This is awesomeness in action.
  16. Great Odin's raven! Where has anyone stated these men shouldn't be charged for their crimes? Where has anyone said that gay people don't deserve EQUAL protection under the law? What you're asking for is EXTRA protection under the law. Forgive us for not feeling that someone deserves EXTRA protection under the law because of who they sleep with. Wow, just wow.
  17. Who cares what the motive was? They committed a crime and should be punished. You really think they should receive harsher punishment because the victim was gay? That's ludicrous - it elevates the gay person who was killed above another person who may have been killed in a random act of violence. Wow, straw-man much?No one has excused these men for what they did - they should be punished to the fullest extent of the aw. But if you think they should be punished more harshly than if they killed a member of my family just because the victim was gay, then I feel sorry for you.

  19. Oh, sorry, hadn't even noticed the other thread was in the benefactor area. Here's what I posted there - an animated GIF I made from one of the vids:
