  1. Your choice, but my last shipment of x54r cost .22/rnd. It's pretty simple to keep them running perfectly, easily worth the savings, imo. Of course, I always clean my guns as soon as I get home, anyway.
  2. Yah. Probably would have shot no prob out of my G27, though it might have had trouble chambering. I should try it sometime just to see if it will chamber...
  3. Yah, well, close - they sell 500 rnd boxes for $110. So I guess it's .22/rnd, but I've bought so much over the years, I just grab a bag of it when I'm heading out most of the time, haven't bought any in months. It almost made it into my mag!
  4. Windex (with Ammonia-D) doesn't actually have any ammonia in it - ammonia-D is just a trademarked name for their mix of butyl cellosolve and isopropyl alcohol. Windex is about 97% water, that's what's doing it. Just run a patch or two with some cleaner (Hoppes or similar) at the range then flush with boiling water when you get home. No need to get fancy.
  5. Their .40S&W FMJ stuff is pretty good, my local range sells it and I use the crap out of it. It's the dirtiest stuff I've ever fired and about 1 out of every 300 or so will have a dud primer, but other than that, pretty good for cheap ammo (about .20/round in bulk last time I bought). Of course, you have to check every round (but you should be doing that anyway): No, that's not a .40S&W wadcutter...
  6. Ooh, I'm gonna search youtube for that!
  7. Update - looks like anyone interested will be able to get email updates now (see #2 below):
  8. Oh, they get it - they're going to do everything they can to make this appear to be anything but a referendum against Obama's policies.
  9. This is a good day!
  10. In the words of the great American sage, Foghorn Leghorn: "That's a JOKE, son, a flag-waver. You're built too low."
  11. Yah, oldie but goodie. Thing was moving relatively slowly coming back as you could hear it before it got there.
  12. That one's tough - I'm not going to promote any other sites here as that wouldn't be cool, but there are a few decent prepping/survival sites around where people have addressed this sort of issue. I'll tell you this - there's no consensus on the best way to approach it and most every answer is short term (<1 year) at best as medications don't often have long shelf lives, even if refrigerated or frozen.
  13. Settled for $425k according to that video description. Nice payday from that idiot.
  14. Zoiks! How fast were you going and what was the posted limit?
  15. I have tons of friends in Europe - most of those countries have far faster speeds availabe. To really see some thing sobering regarding how we're falling behind the world, check out mobile phones / services worldwide - we're virtually primative in comparison!
  16. I could probably have a signed letter from the director of the BATFE approving their use and I'd still not touch one of those...
  17. Bikes can be great - most efficient form of human locomotion in the world - but what if you are injured? What about carrying supplies (highly limited)? Plus, you get NO protection / concealment from potential baddies. If things get bad enough I need to bug out, a bike would not be my first choice.
  18. And, generally speaking, against far less talented teams. As I posted earlier, he's on W better than his predecessor at LaTech, who went 16-20. Agreed, I don't think DD is ready for this position, but at worst he'll be a Mike Shula type of hire - setting the program up for bigger things for his follow-up. He certainly won't cheat or leave you high and dry ala Lame. To be fair, you may not have heard of Pearl, but he won and won big every where he had been before UT. He was a relative unknown but was nowhere near a <.500 coach."Before coming to Tennessee, Pearl was the head coach at Milwaukee and, prior to that, at Southern Indiana, where he won a Division II national championship. He also served as an assistant coach at the University of Iowa under then-head coach Tom Davis. Among his accolades, Pearl is the second-fastest NCAA coach to reach 300 victories, and needed only 382 games to reach this mark (Roy Williams, the current coach at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, needed 370 games at the University of Kansas to reach this milestone)." - wikipedia entry
  19. Found this interesting: LaTech record from 04-06 (before DD): 16-20 (44%) LaTech record from 07-09 (under DD): 17-20 (46%) Not exactly the sort of turn-around one would expect from a rising star...
  20. Unpossible - I've read on this very board that the cop would have body-slammed you, taken your weapon, hand-cuffed you and locked you in the back of his squad car for a few hours to 'teach you some respect'. But seriously, sounds like you handled it very well.
  21. Hey, if DD is it, then at least Hamilton upgraded winning percentage of his HC from 25% (LK) to 46%( DD)!
  22. Update: Not sure why the order is whacked like that, that's how it was on the FB message I copied it from...
  23. Almost a universal truth wrt coaches.
