I said a long time ago "they" don't need to control the firearms, just the ammo. Kind of like a slingshot and no rocks!! Now is the time for the army to get some "new" calibers of arms that aren't 9mm or 5.56, and make them for the military only!!

Well I am not bragging, just confessing that me and my pastor shot about 500 rounds of .40S&W reloads and they all went bang. Some brass in the tumbler as we speak.

Make sure not to weigh it down with non essential items. When you get it all together, strap it on and walk a couple of miles and then decide if it is too heavy. A firearm and extra mags or ammo wasn't listed, but of course you are on a gun forum, but let us not assume anything. Any decent pack that is comfortable and will hold what you need will work. A lot depends on if you are bugging out from home for good to a better location or if you are trying to get home. If you are truly bugging out, I would opt for some type of vehicle, even a good sturdy bicycle is better than hoofing it very far.

Don't underestimate a doe deer and her razor sharp hooves. Evidently somewhere in the past a hawk had swooped down on her. I recently saw a video where a guy was showing all the animals that kill turkeys. He had a bobcat, coyote, and a big hawk swoop down and knock over his decoy.

I suppose the game and fish have a warrant out for the doe's arrest for killing an endangered bird?? That's was pretty funny!!

Beltfed I too probably have more ammo than I will shoot up, but I am trying. My kids and grandkids will know what I have done with all the spare time when then look into the ammo cans!! To those that don't reload, it sure is comforting that if I decide to go shoot 500 or 1,000 rounds just go do it and come back and reload for the next outing. When I competed in USPSA pistol I would shoot no less than 500 rounds per week in practice and matches and I wouldn't have been able to afford it if not for reloading. Plus it is a great way to get by yourself and getting your mind right. If nothing else I remember of the Boy Scouts it was to be prepared. If you need a bandaid, I have one, if you need a tool, I have one, need a bullet I have some!!

Hey Darrell all you need to do is click on a username and find out info. Ed will be 72 in November, only 3 years older than me. Hey Ed, don't quit on us now, but sometimes you need to go fishing or a number of other hobbies. I won't quit shooting until I am deceased. I may not shoot 500 rounds a week like I used to, but I will shoot. I have a shooting outing planned for the 19th with a good friend. You need to smell burnt gunpowder every now and then, it's smell will bring back happy memories.

Greg was an innocent bystander that just happened to have his fishing gear with him that day!! We joke about that, but this is how times have changed and sad to say, not for the better!!

Yea it is all our fault because they didn't get a decent education like we did. I told my wife years ago, we graduated HS in 1970 and I told her our diploma's were worth a heck of a lot more than the ones in 2010!! The best thing to do is stay far, far away from any fast food restaurant. A buddy said his doctor told him to stay away from the fast food and he said what if I just need to go to the bathroom, doc said go someplace else.

I know there are probably lots of UT fans here, but our churches music leader is Bobby's nephew. He had been asking for prayers for him. If you do a little research Bobby was a great Christian. I saw a post where back in 1980 FSU put a whoopin on Nebraska and Bobby wrote Nebraska and commended all the players, coaches, faculty on how they didn't bash FSU, no hating going on. He was a first class man. IMHO.

Yea Fords are real good, I go to church with a couple and last December I commented on "did you get a new car"? And they said no, and yes. They had a new Ford Edge and after multiple times in the shop in Cookeville, they gave them a new one same color. Because they couldn't fix it, I would have asked for a refund. Because next time if it is out of warranty who is going to fix it???

Yea Darrell I have learned to never say never!! In a few years $55 a pound will seem a mere pittance.

The last U.S. lead smelter closed in 2013. Now all lead has to be outsourced from other countries. You know that lead which is a natural element causes everything!!

Greg those are the "fun" times of driving cars and trucks that don't have a monthly payment on them. I would rather put a few hundred dollars into some repairs every now and then than pay $750 up for a monthly note. I own debt free 4 vehicles that cost me total $7,500. Now I have spent $9,000 or so in repairs over the course of 8 years,so that figures purchase price plus repairs to a little over $500 per year per vehicle. I am on the lookout for a pre computer truck or car, I know how to file points!!!

I have read all 3 and they are good to read to show things we might not think of to have a few extra of just in case. We had some friends that had a vacation house near Black Mountain. That area of N.C. is very similar to East Tn.

You are oh so right Mowgli Terry, the money is part of it, but certainly not all of it. The fact that at any time you want to go target shooting, competing, hunting, all you have to do it take the time to load up what you need and not worry about does the LGS or Bass pro have what you need. The only thing you need to stock is components. I probably have enough target and hunting ammo that it will take my grandkids to get it all shot up, plus I still have components to load!!

Patience grasshopper, by 2030 or so there may be some available, but don't get your hopes too high. As long as there is a shortage of loaded ammo, the mfgs. won't be selling many components.

The ones like in No Ones pic are the true Bronco. They actually worked!! 1966-1977. IMHO!!

I think they should just crush those old cruisers, I see one from time to time still has the spot light on it. Too easy for some scum bag to use it as a way to either speed or pull over people.

Hi all, I am not a conspiracy theorist, I lost my tinfoil hat in a boating mishap. But do any of you understand why Wells Fargo is shutting down all of it's lines of personal credit?

This is significant, why was the cleaning person in the room?? Granted he was a putz for leaving loaded firearms unsecured. And I too would have to question why he had a loaded .308 rifle. A handgun I can understand. When I used to travel a lot I would put my handgun inside my laptop bag and go on about my business when I left the room for a meeting or such. Now I can understand him wanting more firepower than a handgun in the crime ridden chi town. It is folks like him that give gunowners a bad name.
