Oma, I too sometimes doubt what actually happened. I was discussing this with the Mrs. a few days ago and I am still baffled as to why they tore down the school. I mean this is going a little far, I suppose we sheeple will never know the truth.

I heard this on the radio this afternoon. I am assuming the parents and at least 1 teacher is sueing Bushmaster as they say the AR-15 should never be owned by a civilian. This is just another in a long list of idiotic lawsuits. I truly feel bad for the parents, children and teachers that lost loved ones and friends. I guess you can never make a good enough argument with a liberal gun hater. I know you guys are aware that an idiot shooter would have killed a whole lot more with a shotgun. It is always the evil gun, never the idiot behind the trigger. I guess you heard the Muslim shooter in Australia, they got him but he killed 2 hostages. There is a shooter on the loose in Pennsylvania after multiple killings early this morning. Seems like there is always a shooting right around the corner. Always some in Chicago every night, but for some reason we don't hear much in the news about these. Hmmmmm!!!

I bought 3 boxes same lot of a well known brand of .308 same lot. Just happened to be looking at them prior to going deer hunting and found 2 or 3 rounds with no primer. I bought them at wally world and liked to have never explained the reason I couldn't use them at the return/customer service desk. I never thought about sending the company any correspondence. It pays to look at a round prior to loading it. Several years back an older doctor was at the shooting range and came into the store wanting a cleaning rod to remove a stuck piece of brass. He shot a .308 out of a 30-06 and it looked like a .308 straightwall like a larger .357 or such. He had shot some 4 or 5 rounds at a nice deer and missed, he was shooting 270's from his '06. That is a good reason to not make 30-06 out of 270 brass or vice versa, btw I know a guy that does that.

And I thought we were thrill seekers water skiing thru the lily pads and cypress knees back on the coast. That is insane. Some of the things these guys do are amazing. But if he hits that rock wall, when he gets old he will say, " If I had known I would live this long I would have taken better care of myself"

I know Hank is a ruger collector, he likes low serial number Rugers and bought 1 from a friend for $20K about 25 years ago.

Oh shoot you are closer than what I had, I just searched and the figure was 6 million, so to all that read my previous post just double that. So the number of rounds shot would be 3.3 billion and production at 1 million per day that would be 3,300 days or 9.04 years. I checked and Marlin 60 has sold 11 million, boy howdy, just those 2 models of guns would take the manufacturers a while to keep up. I won't bore you with the numbers, but just think of all the people that shoot more than 550 rounds per year.
-
I have an inflation calculator in my favorites and in 1960 a box of .22's were $0.40 and it said in 2013 it would be $3.10.The calculor stops at 2013 btw. Ok some more number crunching. I heard a week or so ago that Ruger has sold over 3 million 10-22's, now if each owner shot 1 brick of 550 per year and 1 manufacturer makes 1 million rounds per day it would take 1,650 days or 4.52 years to produce the 1,650,000,000 rounds. So put this in with all the other firearms that shoot 22's and you see the issue. If the issue doesn't fix itself soon, I am afraid a whole generation of kids will grow up not being marksman because they didn't get to shoot like I did.

I personally would take dumbo Joe Biden at this juncture. How could he be any worse, I mean really. At least he said get the double barrel 12 and let loose off of the deck!!

Congratulations!! She is a doll for sure. Now you truly know the definition of Grand. We have 3 and yes they grow up too fast, btw they like to spoiled too much repeatedly.

I was surprised there wasn't more money

Glad to hear about Guns and leather, if I ever acquire a large enough pile of money and I can get past the warden here at home I may have to make the trek.

Sorry for your loss Dave. You and your family are in my prayers.

Hi guys, I saw an ad for 30 rd ASC AR-15 mags. I see they are priced at $4.95 and can only find a few reviews. They are supposedly made on old C-mag tooling. Just asking as I don't want mags that don't work. Also saw ad for mil spec mags at $89.99 for 10 mags. I didn't list the stores as I didn't know if that was appropriate here. Mac

Thanks Swim, you probably just got me in hot water about buying one. That is a super cheap price if they are any good.

just moved last week Penske is the best I could find, the truck was about an hour late arriving and they took off $50 which I felt was fair.

Sorry you had problems, here is what I do, my ffl allows me to copy his paperwork and fax or e-mail to the dealer I am purchasing from. It sort of cuts out the middle man. I don't know what the problem is with a lot of local gun stores that act like you are doing them a favor by going into their store. If you aren't in a hurry GunBroker is usually cheaper and only takes a week. I always wanted to own and run a sporting goods store and treat all the customers the way I want to be treated. Hey I know there are some real asses that are customers , but they are still the customer.

My house has a heat pump and the repairman that checks it twice a year said to call them out if it switched to emergency heat, he said we would have to float a loan to pay the electric bill. Thas is why my old Ashley wood heater does most of the work when it is cold and I didn't let it get out of wood.

I would have loved to see his face if Mrs. Caster had pulled out a .44 Dirty Harry special and asked him "Well punk do you feel Lucky?" I bet she would have gotten a lot better set of results!! Just saying. Off topic a bunch but several years ago 35 or so there was some guys following another couple of guys and the first guy got tired of it and slid sideways on the gravel road and pulled out a .44, the dummies in vehicle # 2 actually got out of the car and started walking towards them until 1 shot was fired a foot above suspect #1. They then ran back to their truck and hauled A$$ out of there. True story told by a good friend who was witness in vehicle #1.

Bersaguy, My idea on the ozone hole is it is/was caused by a bunch of hot air blowing idiots in Washington, D.C.!! Now I don't have any expert witnesses, but just my observation from where I see it!!
-
I am like Bersaguy, on those nasty icy days I plan on putting a couple more pieces of wood on the fire and enjoying some warm soup or chili and staying my old decrepit butt at the house. Will leave for supplies when the weather clears out in a day or so.

Yea and I want to see him after he gets out of the hospital for getting kicked in the balls and having his guts cut out!! LOL

A friggin idiot. Every time I see those forecasts for single digits or below and all the snow and ice, I just hope all them idiots that believe in global warming or climate change freezes their butts off. The polar ice cap is bigger than it has been for several years. The thing that makes me furious is the fact that the E.P.A. and other gooberment agencies are going to make us pay thru the nose for something that we didn't cause. A few years back I heard them wanting to get the co2 level to a point lower than it is naturally occuring. In other words it is impossible to get it to that low of a point. All the Earth's volcanoes put out far more CO2, H2S and other noxious gasses than all our Chevy's and Fords could ever attain. But ol Gorey is making money hand over fist because he invented the internet. He is only slightly smarter than the idiot Biden!!

I have read many threads on this subject and I really believe if you aren't where you intend to be you probably won't get there. I know all about bugout locations and such, but on your way home tomorrow, imagine something bad happened and you are stuck in the worst traffic jam you have ever seen. Now how is your $100K + 4x4 or 6x6 going to get you to your destination to begin your journey to you BOL. Just think how a simple traffic accident can clog up the interstate or 2 lane for hours. Now take that number of immobile vehicles and multiply by 1,000 or more and you get the gist. I recently was reminded that a few pairs of good hiking-walking boots or shoes would be the best method of mobility. Sorry to bust any bubbles, but although both my vehicles are 4x4 and I have a 4x4 Kawasaki Mule, eventually I will be on foot. Best of luck to us all if a SHTF scenario comes our way.
