Prayers sent for your dad and your family. I pray that you have the opportunity to speak with your dad. This is the most important meeting you could ever have with your dad. Praying that God gives you the strength and the words.

Ok I will catch some flak for this comment. They aren't wheel guns they are "real" guns!! Not the bottom feeding pistols. Just kidding guys, because I like and shoot both styles. But revolvers are sexier!!

Will keep you and your family in my prayers. Sorry this is happening, you know we are at the doctors mercy and some don't have a real good bedside manner. You do need another opinion, let us know who this clown is so we don't use him.

More on What I Feel Is The Most Likely Scenario

I worked in the oil & gas industry for 34 years and we have had a surplus of natural gas for years. All cars and light trucks should have been put on it years ago. I have always thought that hydro electric is the way to go, think about all the creeks, rivers and large impoundments. You could stack them one in front of the other. If the fed's would quit throwing our money at foreign countries we could have the best and safest infrastructure on this rock. -
I recently moved from Mississippi and I can tell you the license fee there are a whole lot better. I thing a sportsman license is $36 and includes fishing, small game, large game and it includes bow and primitive weapons. I have a friend that hunts Kentucky and he said it is a diamond in the rough. He said the bucks are comparable to Illinois and a whole lot cheaper to hunt. Like others have said the high cost of licenses may decrease the number of hunters and fisherman, and some of those could be young folks that are just getting started. I know that the wardens are understaffed, but isn't most businesses now understaffed. I just don't think the increase will be good in the long run. My $0.02

The Death Blow for Subscription Television as We Know It

I am ready to cut Dish off anyway for allowing Fox to get off my T.V. I noticed that Fox wasn't mentioned in any of the packages. -
I have a friend back in Ms. that has a dealership and also some small lots and in case you don't know about it they have a gps unit to track the vehicle and can turn off the car if they quit paying for it. I don't know how much they are, but they don't have to go hunting the cars anymore!

I have heard that some counties will give you a load for your driveway, give them a call it won't cost nothing but a call.

I am very surprised the grid hasn't went down long ago. Our gov't wastes our tax dollars on foreign countries and can't keep up our infrastructure in good working order. Duh!, But I guess our politicians have great big underground bunkers with food, water, generators and lots of fuel, weapons, folks to keep them safe. They danged sure ain't worried about the grid. -
I say go for it on the side first and not get in over your head. From all I know about small businesses is that most go out of business for now having enough cash flow. So make sure you can get the financing if you need it to keep going. I recently retired and all the people that I personally know that has any money to speak of worked for themselves. I never had the money or the right idea to make it myself. I always wanted my own sporting goods store. You will put in more hours and have more headaches, but if you treat your customers with respect and friendliness then you should do go. Good luck and keep us posted to your progress.

They have been roosting near our house for 2-3 weeks. They make a lot of racket like turkeys going to roost and flapping from limb to limb. Haven't seen them in a few days guess they found a nicer place.

BVD words to live by. I had a shooting buddy that we spent a lot of time together and he died suddenly and I have struggled for several years that as close as we were to each other I failed to ask him the most important question of all. Do you know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior? I won't know until I die if he did or not. But it reminds me to ask folks that I am close to and I actually do it in a 3rd person sort of way, I just say that I didn't ask Tim if he knew Jesus. In this way it doesn't put pressure on that person, but it does make them think and that is all I want to do. Don't take me the wrong way I am not being Holier than thou, I have many faults and am far from perfect. I wish all of you a happy, safe, healthy, prosperous New Year!!!!!!!!! Mac

I have a concern about using a deadbolt that requires a key to unlock from the inside, isn't that dangerous in case of a fire? Do those that have such locks keep a key in it while at home? I have always said an exterior door should swing to the outside because I would think it would be much harder to pull a door open as opposed to kicking it open, however I suppose they could use pry bars to pull it open. The best thing is to use the locks and make everything as hard as possible, the thugs like to be in and out quick. Put up security or game cameras around your place, heck one of mine is a dud that hasn't worked in 3 or 4 years, but if you come into my driveway you will see it cable locked to an oak tree. This gets the thugs to thinking anyway. Best deterrent is a big loud dog and an alarm system that can be heard for a country mile, plus a sign that reads Don't worry about the dog, worry about the dog's owner!!!!!!!!!!

Sig Brace ILLEGAL to shoulder
Dirtshooter replied to mcordell's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
A little off topic, but I still can't understand why it is "illegal" to build an AR pistol from an AR rifle receiver. Just shows how stupid the ATF rules really are. So are they going to send someone to watch everyone as they go to shoot their guns to make sure that nobody holds and AR/AK pistol to their shoulder? So if I read all this correctly isn't the buffer tube with a crutch tip on it also technically illegal if put to one's shoulder? "Stupid is as stupid does" -
Ya'll need to start reloading. I can load my cast bullets and have just under $0.05 per round or $5.00 per 100 rounds. I can assure you it won't take long to make up the cost of a reloader set-up. Just my 2 cents. Ya'll have a Happy New Year!! Mac

I saw cops park in handicap parking back in Ms. There are few things that make me madder than able bodied people parking in handicap parking. I have been on crutches and it ain't funny trying to get from 1 end of wally world to the other, I was too proud to use the motorized shopping carts.

I thought this was a comedy topic! Cheap, heavy and .30 cal don't go together. You been in the eggnog too much?? Just kidding. Remind me about this in a couple of weeks, I am still moving and unpacking and haven't messed with my reloading stuff yet, I think I have some 220 grain bullets that may can be traded for.

It is hard at anytime to lose a family member, but espescially hard during the holidays. Prayer sent for your family and the church who lost their shepherd.

Good reason not to send the NSSF any money if they let folks with this mindset to speak on their behalf.
