You can also use an arrow for a plug in an extended tube. R_Bert if you have ever eaten a wild turkey, yes you would have shot it and eaten it. Take the breast and cut it into about 1" chunks batter it and deep fry it and say MMMMMMMMM good just like Andy would after eating a good meal cooked by Aunt Bee!!

I see it as a great buy on an antique stool, but as firewood slightly overpriced?? What is the old saying a fool and his money are soon parted!

Sorry to hear of your family's loss. Will be praying for ya'll. The story was very touching. I lost my father in 1972 and although it has been almost 43 years I still think of him quite a bit, maybe not everyday but very often. I was 19 when he passed away and I have wished several times to have 5 minutes to ask a question or 2 or get his advice. Time heals but you will always miss him.

If any of you have a bullet resizer you can use it to cut your wads, that's what I do to make my own shotshells with #8 or smaller shot.

I live in Pickett county and you should see the description. From the hickory tree 40' N.E. to the rock. It is like reading a comical story.

I don't know about ya'll but I would miss my use of cordless power tools the most. That is what I want a solar setup for. Dolomite, as for A/C I saw a prepper on TV that had 2 4" pvc pipes in the ground about 6 foot or so, he lived on a hill and got cool air somewhat like a cave is always 55 or so year round. May be something to look into.

Everyone has good tips. I never have a radio, tv, computer etc on when reloading. It is something that requires your utmost attention. I only use a few powders, but only open 1 can, I also mark with a sticky label what is in the powder measure in case I leave it in there as I sometimes do. Keep a good record of what load data is in a particular batch as a few days or weeks or years clouds your memory. Organize your bench for your comfort and ease. When I first started I was sharing our laundry room and my wife asked several times if what I was doing was safe and my reply was/is " this is safer than cutting your grass". I never have a conversation with anyone while loading, if you call or come by I will finish the round I am loading and then we will talk. If you want instruction or tips I will show you. Be careful, have fun. This hobby is probably the most addictive and rewarding of all my hobbies. As I grow older I am even more conscious of labeling batch with all load data so that anyone can duplicate it if they choose.

Good ones, let me leave this one. 4 old retired guys were out driving and saw a sign for a pub so they stopped and went in. There was a sign over the bar ALL DRINKS 10 cents. So they all ordered a martini and the bartender said that will be 40 cents, well the martini's were great shaken and not stirred so they ordered another round. The bartender came back and said 40 cents gents. 1 of the guys said man how in the world do you stay in business selling drinks for 10 cents? The bartender said well about 3 years ago I won the lottery for 125 million I always wanted my own bar so I set the price for all drinks wine, beer, whiskey at 10 cents. Well there was about 7 or 8 people sitting at the other end of the bar but not a single glass in front of them and 1 of the guys says hey what is the deal with those folks not drinking? The bartender replied oh they are all from Florida and they are waiting for happy hour when the drinks are half priced plus they have coupons!!

Good post Hipower, and Happy Birthday. If you are like me it is just another day, but you know what that's a pretty good gift. You have probably heard it, but today is very special as they call it the present!! I heard a good one the other day "Life is like a coin you have only once to spend it so spend it wisely."

Dirtshooter replied to Randall53's topic in General Chat
I have seen this list and it is not all true. I know that Food Lion has no discounts for seniors. You may want to verify this info prior to spending your money. My $0.02 -
Prayer sent, sounds like a man with a good sense of humor with a quick wit. Hope he gets better soon.

I like liver, but gave it up because of all the crap that animals get fed now. Any heavy metal that an animal intakes gets sent to stay in the liver.

M855/SS109 5.56 Ban!!! AKA Green Tip
Dirtshooter replied to mcordell's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I saw some clown on GB wanting $998 for 1,000 rds. I hope it goes bad before anyone pays that price. We need to get some legislation passed that protects the ammo as well as keeping the 2nd ammendment rights. I know we as rational people figure that ammo goes with the 2nd, but I think having it in writing may help, except to those that don't abide by the constitution, like the I got a pen and phone POS, sorry I meant potus. -
I tried it 10+ years ago and found some good info, I contacted a person that had left some info and their e-mail address, come to find out she was a 2nd cousin that had a bunch of family history. Genealogy is interesting and frustrating at the same time. You can spend a lot of time and a good bit of money.

Dirtshooter replied to tercel89's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Hey txbrown, I would then let my buddy sort them for ya!! Give him something to do instead of just holding the chair down. LOL -
If the need for this type of device continues I believe an exodus south will be in order. I hope the next time we get snow is in 2040!!!

Well this year it slipped past me, I was looking at clock on laptop and it was an hour ahead of one above fireplace and I went huh??? Personally I wish they would leave it alone. Statistics show more heart attacks for 2-3 weeks following a time change. I always think it's funny people are saying it's 3 o'clock the old time!

That was a great story Bersa. I bet you were their favorite son!! Btw where did you grow up? I know close to chi-town but was wondering.
-
Hey Bersa ain't it funny how you can remember times like that. I have always tried to live by the adage take your kids hunting and fishing and you won't have to be hunting them. I have as much fun fishing with my grandkids as probably anything on this earth. Over the last 2 years I have taken my oldest 2 bream fishing and I was the official cricket baiter and fish remover, those 2 can go thru 100 crickets pretty danged fast. I hope to break in my youngest which just turned 4, I can't wait til he gets his first fish. I am ready for this cold weather and white stuff to leave so I can get back to my fondest hobby, putting fish in the boat!!!
-
Peace enjoy the time with your kids, they will never forget those times. I took my kids and have taken 2 of my 3 grandkids as the youngest just turned 4. Don't put so much importance on the equipment, not to say you don't need good stuff. I have had my share of bass boats, jon boats and now I have a fishing pontoon and a kayak. Put time on the water with as many different fisherman you can. It is similar to playing golf, you will never get to be a good golfer without playing with guys that are better at it than you. First in importance is having fun, especially when taking the kids. Next is trying to learn more about where you fish or the species you fish for. I quit bass fishing when my kids started fishing as some days bass are hard to catch and I started panfishing with ultralight tackle and it is my go to tackle most of the time.
