  1. Thanks guys, I was probably going to wear it for safety sake not necessarily to abide by rules. Sorta like carrying concealed at a job that says you can't, I would rather be alive and fired than dead and abiding by rules. BTW my boss and his wife both carry, so it isn't my job that says I can't!!
  2. Hey guys I looked on TWRA website and didn't see this answered there. In fact I saw where if archery and gun seasons overlapped that archers were to wear hunter orange. Just want to be sure. Thanks Mac
  3. I have often wondered about putting in exterior doors that open outward so they have to pull them open, I think that would be a lot harder than kicking them in. You can't just turn door around as the hinge pins would be exposed to outside.
  4. I don't think I want that job, too many unknowns for me. I still am trying to figure how to approach neighbors and friends about prepping as you can't advertise your intents.
  5. I like my Encore .308 15" pistol, like mp5rizzo said I ain't as mad at deer as I once was. I feel like it is more sporting to shoot them with the pistol. I once read it is 6 times more difficult to accurately shoot a pistol as opposed to rifle. As a matter of fact I usually go under alias Encoreman on most forums, but it was taken here.
  6. Only in Amerika!! Just like this statue is the boogey man and hurt somebody. A bunch of danged idiots is what I say. You can't change history no matter how many statues you destroy or books you burn, but I suppose just like the idiots that say the Holocaust didn't happen, if you wait long enough everyone that knew the truth will be dead and you can bluff the rest of the people. These are some sad times in the U.S. and the bad thing is it didn't just happen yesterday, it has been coming for 50-60 years. It is like the story of how to eat an elephant, 1 bite at a time.
  7. Like Larry the cable guy says " that's funny right there I don't care who you are". She was just wanting to be doubly sure, heck don't throw her under the bus. She was just wanting to be sure!!
  8. Nice to read such stories Bersa. What is the saying that a man that has 2 true friends is rich indeed. Even a half way good friend is hard to find. I am glad you have true friends like this that think enough to lend you a helping hand!! Glad you and your Vietnam buddy got reunited. Thank you both for your service. Oorah!!
  9. Oh shoot brings up a subject I have thought about a lot lately and that is the neighbors and how they are or are not prepared. It is a hard subject to breech because you don't want to show your hand that says I have food, water, weapons and know how. I know a lot of people in my rural area and I know several hunt and have guns and ammo, water isn't a problem here, there are several head of cattle and lots have chickens and gardens, but beyond that I really don't know how people really feel about preppers. We do have at least 3 nurses within 2 miles and we are out in the sticks. I have always wondered how each of you handle the situation of discussing prepping with your friends and neighbors.
  10. This is the exact thing that happens when Big brother puts his nose in our business. All this politically correct E.P.A. crap is enough to make a preacher cuss!! All I want is a simple gas can with a vent and I don't want to spend what a decent shotgun costs to do it!!!
  11. Thanks and I hope you have a great Thanksgiving as well. CommsNBombs that is a nice gesture, I hope someone accepts your offer and ya'll have a great time!
  12. As Greg has said a public hanging would be a good start, but I would be inclined to leave it hanging for the buzzards and crows to take care of. I know this would be a good example to any others that may have similar ideas.
  13. Instead of spending money on a barrier, go buy a good 12 volt model with a remote control. Don't even consider putting anyone in FRONT of a person with a loaded gun. Believe me you will have a lot more fun when nobody has to get in FRONT of a loaded gun. Just think of the money spent as good insurance against an injury.
  14. Just shows ya that the goobermint thinks they can "save" anything. Just leave the clock alone dangitt!!
  15. Thanks Raildog for giving us an insight to what goes on behind the scenes. I have some good friends that worked and retired with Mississippi Export Railroad in south Mississippi. At one time it was the most profitable stretch of rail because of the lines it connected. I wish all the guys and gals good fortune in job hunting or retirement, whichever they choose. I have a lot of friends in the oil industry back in Mississippi that are suffering, some have lost their jobs others had their pay cut 50% just to keep a job. I pray for my friends each day and will put these railroaders on my prayer list as well.
  16. I have read many news reports saying the area was "gripped in fear", well I was concerned, but not gripped in fear, I was however in close proximity to a firearm or 3 that all had grips on them. LOL
  17. If he is around the lake with all the vacation cabins and houseboats he could be on the lamb for awhile. They should have put the dogs on him in Ky as soon as he hit the woods, rin tin tin would have had him!!!
  18. Thanks 10 ring I didn't notice the other thread.
  19. I don't have the link, but a 62 yr old ex-con shot a Putnam county Tennessee deputy in a traffic stop, the went back into Kentucky and shot a Ky. cop in a traffic stop. This happened Sunday 10-25-15. The LE says he is armed and dangerous, just letting the word out. I didn't hear about it until noon today.
  20. Looked like a bunch of nuts to me. I wouldn't feel safe within 10 miles of those yahoo's!!!
  21. Sorry for your loss Ben, my prayers with you and your family. Just be thankful that he is not suffering anymore. I lost my dad 43 years ago and I still miss him although it has gotten some better. Cherish your memories and know that one day you will be together for all of eternity.
  22. And thank you TnShooter83for starting this thread. I have many friends that are LE, firemen and EMT's and believe me they see the worst and sometimes a little of the good each and everyday.  Thank you guys and gals for doing a thankless job!!!
  23. Dang it boys, that Hill pic is wrong. Ya need to warn a fellow, I may be scarred for life!!
  24. That isn't what I said or implied. I said that the gooberment was full of a bunch of lying politicians!! That being said, I wouldn't trust them not to do anything that may put more power or money in their greedy hands.
  25. As far as I am concerned I truly believe there are more bald faced liars in the gooberment than there are people whom tell the truth. Just look at the IRS scandal, the planned parenthood, Benghazi, Hillary's server/cellphone etc/
