A quick comment on Remoil. There is 1 that has ptfe in it, above all DO NOT GET THIS INTO BORE!! I know firsthand the problems you can encounter. As you probably know ptfe is teflon, I almost got rid of a Remington 700bdl in 30-06 as it shot a pattern like a shotgun. It took several times cleaning the bore with Hoppes #9 and shooting it 50 rounds or so. It is now a great shooting rifle. Thought I would pass this along. Mac

Also if you don't have a chamber checker, you need to run each loaded round thru your gun to make sure it cycles well. I have chamber checkers for my pistol rounds, but I don't for my rifles so I make sure they function prior to hunting or shooting.

My $0.02 is neither, I prefer Academy sports. I have been in 6 or 7 different BPS and I still don't need 100 different versions of a camo T-shirt. Personally I think they have too many options. Also when I go to BPS or Cabela's my first thought is how much of my purchase is going towards all the bells and whistles. Don't get me wrong, my grand kids love the aquariums and such, but Academy is my sort of store.

I'm still looking for the assault rifle and ammo clip, scope and stand in the pic!! I am calling foul, it was probably some kids toy gun that he was but now isn't getting for Christmas. What a bunch of liberalism!!! I am really wondering why the gun wasn't shooting everything all by itself because it is such an EVIL weapon! Good thing Donald Trump won because Hildabeast would have surely have outlawed those Evil things!!!!!!!!!!

Yotes do a lot more damage than some may think. I read an article that said game cameras were placed at 2 yote dens in Ohio and in a 1 month time one mother brought 16 fawns to her den the other got 14. Now that is a lot of future deer steaks, roast and burgers the way I see it. They need to be eliminated like the wild/feral hog population, kill em no matter the means!!!

Two juveniles charged for starting Sevier Co. wildfires

I am usually one of the first to say hang em high or put in prison and throw the key away. The fire in the Gatlinburg area is devastating and there will be no winners regardless what the court sees is a correct punishment. Their punishment won't bring back the lives that were lost nor the historical buildings destroyed. On another note as has been said, what if this was domestic terrorism? If the country was fighting forest fires and trying to save lives and homes, our attention wouldn't be on fighting terrorists. This is hard to think about, but what if??? -
Thanks to all the vets that served. I have a little known fact about the Arizona. I lived in Laurel, Ms for 40+ years and the Veterans Memorial Museum in Laurel has a piece of the Arizona about 18"x18" full of bullet holes and according to a good friend who helped the museum acquire this piece said that only 1 other part of the Arizona was at another museum. My wife has an uncle who is 91 and was a WWII Navy Vet in the Pacific and I have a good friend that was a Bataan death march survivor who is in his 90's. These men are definetly a part of the greatest generation. As has been said, I don't think U.S. history is taught in the same way as it was 40 years ago either. We as parents and grandparents need to teach our kids the meaning of December 7th, 1941, June 6th, 1944 and other important history before it is forgotten.

Rimfire Sniper Challenge

I would like more information like rules of different classes. Yardage that will be shot, are there time limitations, fee to shoot etc. I got a few extra .22 rounds that need shootin!! -
I too will not give to the Red Cross. Look at all the money they received to rebuild houses in Haiti. They were supposed to build thousands and at last count had built 6. Whew that really helps. Be cautious where you give you donations, some only pass along a small portion to the people in need.

I will echo Climbers post, I think they all have a limited lifespan, especially if you leave them up all year long. With that said, I haven't had what I would consider a high end camera, and doubt that I will. I have had good luck out of moultrie brand. I would look at top reviews along with the remarks you get here and go from there.

103 year old bags biggest buck of his life!
Dirtshooter replied to gregintenn's topic in General Chat
Congrats to him!! Don't ever quit doing the things you enjoy. Age is a number, I know 40 year olds that are in terrible health. I think one key is to stay active. You can sit around and feel sorry for yourself that you can't run a 4.4 40, heck I never could. You won't see me running even if a grizzly is after me, I will turn and empty my magazine then sit and rest!! -
I'm with Greg, I miss his humor. My former boss got to see one of his shows and he said he was crazy funny.

Try LSN local sales network. Most ads are Tn, Ky or Nc, sort of a regional network. Don't see as many scam ads as Craigslist

Dirtshooter replied to Mark A's topic in General Chat
Update on injuries. 1 person was killed and 5 injured. I read where a trackhoe was involved. I know they have markers where the line is, evidently somobody screwed up big time. Prayers for injured and families involved. -
Mark keep us posted on the aquaponics, I have a friend in Mississippi that has done it for about 3 years, he uses bluegill because his is outside and in Miss. it is illegal to use tillapia as it doesn't get cold enough to kill them if they got into a stream or river as they are considered an invasive species. He told me the tomatoes were the most delicious he has ever had and he is over 65. Sounds like you got a very nice place to retire, hope all your plans pan out!!

Thought I would revive this old thread. I planted our fall garden for 2nd year in a row. Have been picking 2nd planting of green beans for about 3 weeks now. Have kale, iceberg lettuce which is first for me, turnips plus our favorite brocolli. It has been super dry here and without watering it would all be gone. Believe it or not we still have 3 cherry tomatoe plants blooming and loaded with green maters, have these planted in a container also btw. If you have never planted a fall garden give it a try. I have raised beds and finished our cold frame or small green house on the bed that has the lettuce and kale, took some old wooden windows that were in the barn and all I am waiting for is cold weather where they need to be covered up. Last year took pvc pipe and made hoops that were covered with heavy plastic sheeting and it served it's purpose.

Yeah I got that tercel, it was a joke!! LOL

Jp, it will be addictive. I too started on a rockchucker and after getting the sdb I literally couldn't walk past it without loading 15-20 rounds and chuckling to myself at all the ammo I had made in such a short short time. Enjoy it and you will want to kick yourself for not getting one 14 years ago!! LOL

I have a SDB I bought on evilbay about 15 years ago and Dillon has always been there to replace parts for free. I have my to load .40 cal and .38's, I have contemplated getting another to keep each press set up for 1 caliber. I started out on a single stage rock chucker and literally I could not walk past the SDB without cranking out 15-20 rounds and chuckling to myself at all the time I had saved over the single stage. Is it the best press out there, no, but I don't think for the money you can beat it. If you shoot more than you can crank out on a SDB you need to just buy it by the truckload. I have thought about getting a friend to place a wager, the bet would be I will load up 100 rounds of .40 cal, let him/her to load their mags up and when they begin shooting I would start reloading again. At a time say 1 or 2 hours we would quit and I will bet I have more than 100 rounds loaded up when they quit. I can load good quality safe ammo at a rate of 200-250 rounds per hour if I have a full hopper of powder and 3 or more primer tubes loaded up. Enjoy it!!!

They sure do look appetizing. How did you teach the chicken how to cook??

There are lots of secluded cabins for rent near Dale Hollow Lake. The lake is low right now, but if you want peace and quiet, you can find it here along with all the thousands of acres of hiking you want. P.S. come at your own risk, you won't want to go back home!!!

I assume that everyone has heard about the Colonial pipeline spill near Birmingham,Al. I was reading some comments on Channel 5 news and 1 man that had went to 4 stations before finding 1 with gas said it was "mass chaos". This totally confirms that people really freak out when there is a snow storm coming, a hurricane coming or something like this pipeline spill. Many people freak out and go fill up all their vehicles and every gas can they have. It does nothing but make the situation worse. But this should be a reminder to all here that in some catastrophic event people will freak out and all hell with break loose. I was doing some surfing and was looking at the U.S. infrastructure and it ain't a pretty picture. Bridges, pipelines, dams, sewer lines, water lines, roads, electric grid all are overworked for what they were built for and the life span of most of it expired 20 or more years ago. All this to say, be as prepared as you can be so that when life throws us a curve we can ride out the bumpy road.

I think this is a bunch of bogus reporting myself, has anyone thought how much 6.5 tons of ammo is. I don't believe anyone in Kali had that many guns and that much ammo. Funny they are going to keep the 250K cash. If they would have sold the guns they would have donated the money to Hillary or Bernie anyway. Makes all of our guns more valuable the way I look at it. Morons!!!!! This is why even single people need a will, leave your stuff to someone that will enjoy like you do.
