Tn allowing residents to carry guns without permits new bill
Dirtshooter replied to ted's topic in General Chat
Yep and what might that be?? Only they know because we are too ignorant to understand it. The way I read the 2nd amendment it says I, we have the right to own, carry, use arms and the associated items like ammo, magazines, etc. and it shall not be infringed. It doesn't say that the state of Fed gov't will send us thru a class and take our money so we can have what the 2nd says we already should have. I believe Swang said it best, his father taught him gun safety. Kind of like we need to teach our children about history, the Bible and other things and not leave it to the government. Teach them good work ethics, they learn it from watching Mom & Dad work everyday. -
I heard that yesterday Hobby Lobby was a staging area for workers to help in cleanup and 15,000 people showed up. Tragedies like this bring out the best in people.

Just heard from a friend Marine one and a Blackhawk was seen near Sam's in Cookeville this afternoon.

Happy Birthday Pop Pop, and get ready I will look you up when I get to Heaven!!
-
And you get charged an extra $10 to purchase a firearm, most other states uses the Feds NCIC and they don't charge you $10.

I am with you Dave, I know he wants to let the people know he cares about them and will help. But if they would just think for a moment how much that trip costs and puts that towards the recovery effort, but too many would talk about him like a dog if he didn't show up. Can't win for losing sometimes

Prayers for sure for all involved. You know there are several crazy things with this tornado, how far it went and what day. Exactly 1 year ago 23 were killed on 3-3-19 in Lee county, Alabama and in 1998 on super Tuesday it hit Nashville at 5 points. Heard a bit ago death toll now at 22 with 16 of them in Putnam county where Cookeville is located. We live about 30 miles north and had a little bad stuff, but no damage. Ya'll hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight if they are in arms reach, if across the country or globe call them and tell them you Love them. Life is just 1 breath away and we aren't guaranteed our next one. Stay safe!!

You are so right Pop Pop. The police cars may have Serve and Protect on them, but those guns they have are to keep their A$$es safe. If the deputy was sitting at the county courthouse with his car running it would take him a minimum of 30 minutes to get to my house. A .40 cal bullet travels about 1100 feet per second. You do the math. They may come to my house after the fact and draw a chalkline around my body and put police keep out tape around the scene, but they can't protect me and my family unless they plan on living with us 24/7. It is each of our duty to protect our Castle. -
And they let old crooked Hillary go scott free. In her famous words "what does it really matter". I'll tell you Hill, it is called justice and it won't be justice until you are arrested, tried and sent to a solitary hole for life.

Also this day in history 1972 my baby girl was born. Celebrating her 48th birthday!!

Praying for the families affected. It must have been a pistol or some other "gun" as they didn't mention an assault rifle. First time I have heard a silenced gun being used. I would like to know if in fact it was and if it was a legal or homemade device.

If you plan on shooting for the next few weeks, find a Gunbrella to keep the gun dry. LOL

looking for range with shoot house
Dirtshooter replied to Dirtshooter's topic in Training Discussions
Thanks Eddie, I have been to Dead Zero and last year they didn't have a house. But I found one OK Corral at Woodbury, Tn. Have any of you on here been there. I called and the guy was very friendly and said to call or text if I had any other questions. -
Hi guys, was wondering if there is a range that has a shoot house that a church security team could do some training. As well as individuals also. Be nice if 50 miles or so from Cookeville. Thanks Mac

Hipower, that is why I wouldn't want it as a men's cologne. I am afraid it would attract far too many males and few females. It would be worse than having a sign in front of your house that said free BBQ ribs. LOL

As an addition to the info, 8 of those killed at the Alamo had roots from Mississippi. Just a fyi my wife, daughter and son are all from Mississippi.

Hey Pop Pop, don't apologize for rambling at all. That is good, it means you still remember something to ramble about. LOL I can say that as I am an old fart myself!! Don't get too overly excited by the smell of Hoppe's #9 which I still think would make a good women's perfume odor. There would be every gun guy following her around like a bird dog on a covey of quail. Have fun!!

Iwo Jima would have been a good place to have dropped a smaller A-bomb. Some may not know this, but the correct name of the island is Iwo To. The jap language is real hard for even japs to understand. The U.S. decided to stick with Iwo Jima.

Yep Yes sir and no sir go a long long way at my house. Same as Yes Ma'am and No Ma'am. I can't stand to hear a kid say nope or no.

So following some of the comments. A person could break into a house, then into the gun safe, steal gun(s) commit crimes and the homeowner would be partially responsible. How asinine is that??? I will say though that a gun cable lock in those instances you can't carry would be a good idea, I have trucks and SUV's no trunk to put them in. But I will admit there are some really nice albeit expensive gun vaults for your vehicles. I agree that this is mostly a parent problem, if you knew where little Johnny or Leroy was after supper, we wouldn't have near the crime. Make his butt stay at the house or let him suffer the consequences of being some guys girlfriend in the big house and he may straighten up, that is unless he is gay!!

And that is our "system" at work, incompetence!!!
-
Well said Pop Pop, congrats. Our 50th will be in 13 months Lord willing and the creek don't rise.

Unless the sheeple roll over and play dead and destroy or turn in their hi cap mags, there aren't enough LE in the entire state of VA or any other state to go door to door and make the subjects comply. The LE in the country are doing their best just to keep violence to a low hum and not get out of hand. Pretty sad state of affairs in this day and time for sure.

Ban guns holding more than 3 rounds
Dirtshooter replied to The Big Guy's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well personally I don't really care what bloomersberg wants. I suspect there are people in Hades wanting a cool drink of water too!!! -
So I am still trying to get my head wrapped around the fact that certain states like Colorado can legalize marijuana although it is against Federal law? But if it is a "gun" issue, it is Federal rule all the way???
