Well evidently some people didn't take heed to the previous ones. Hence the reason to cast and reload. Plan on using this confinement to see how many projectiles I can cast.

Prayers for all affected will be lifted. God is and always will be in control. Stay safe guys & gals!!

I was cleaning some weeds off of last years tater patch and uncovered a few taters that were sprouting. So I went to the barn and gathered a bucket of taters with eyes and did my first planting in 4 raised beds. I may start tomato, pepper and onion seeds in a few days. FYI, for the last 2 years I have planted and had good harvest of bush green beans. When the first batch slows, pull them out and replant or start another raised bed. We have carrots, bell peppers, yellow squash in the freezer from last years garden plus potatoes in the barn. I am even considering building about 4 more raised beds. If this covid-19 hangs around for 6 months, those delicious veggies may help our family and the neighbors. Ya'll stay safe and happy gardening.

I had to share this, I figured we all needed a good laugh. I saw this on CL. https://bgky.craigslist.org/zip/d/auburn-free-toilet-paper/7093340235.html

Don't you be polluting my fishing hole!!

Yep Pop pop, been seeing toms strutting here and there. Hope you and your family have a very enjoyable trip and great weather. Spring time is my favorite season. It is the renewal of all the flowers and trees and animals that make you want to get up a little earlier the next morning.

And where might that be if everyone is quarantined and the supply chain for food, meds and other essential items are stopped cold in their tracks? Just saying.

I think the media is trying to create a frenzy that could upset folks going to the polls in November. And no I don't wear or have a tinfoil hat. There are 30,000-45,000 people that die every year of the flu and you don't hear CNN say much about it. There is plenty of toilet tissue to go around if people wouldn't buy 2 years worth at a time. This reminds me of the .22LR "shortage" we had. I would love to know how many billion or more rounds aren't setting in the bottom of a lot of gun safes that will never be shot. But they got em!! I saw a figure and don't know if it was true saying that ammo sales had went thru the roof since the virus got bigger. Are some guys going to shoot the virus?? The figure for .40 cal was something like 470% increase. Oh well lets see what the media can stir up tomorrow. Boy Howdy!!

Yep and they are similar to women, they not only need to look good, they need to feel good!! I shall continue my search.

Okay, we can shut this thread down, went to eyeball the boat and not what I was looking for. MacGyver there will be no pics, I didn't post pics of the guns lost in the previous boating accident either. Thanks guys, nothing to see here, keep on walking.

I know I am late to this party, but 1 reason I don't waterfowl hunt is using steel or hevi-shot. You priced a box lately?? Some of that stuff is $4.80 per round, 25 in a box for $120 yea go get a half dozen boxes and hit the duck or goose blind. You can buy a half of side of beef cut and wrapped for that. I would doubt that very many "birds" of any kind ingested enough lead which is a natural element, to kill it. Now a bunch of them have had a load of 4's or 6's to make them die and end up in the skillet or oven. Pure unadulterated bunch of B.S. by folks like the EPA= EVIL PEOPLE ASSOCIATION!! If any of you have ever had the opportunity to eat small game like quail, doves, squirrel and rabbits you have probably ingested this mean ole product lead. And if you are reading this I will assume you are still alive! Case Closed. You go ahead and shoot bullets that cost $5-10 bucks a piece, I reload and cast this evil galena into bullets and load .38 and .40 cal for about $0.05 each, or 100 bullets for listen hear it comes $5.00 instead of yours that may cost $500-1000 if the EPA has their way.

Well said TripleGGG, You are oh so correct. I have never been a pall bearer and carried guns, money or a boat with the deceased. Sometimes I just need to bounce things off. I have a bad problem of talking myself out of things. I am not a spur of the moment purchaser, I will mull over it, pray over it and then maybe buy it. And I have given at least 1 gun to all grandkids and 3 to another, 2 to another. I have 3 heirloom guns that I will pass on to the grandkids, 2 were my dads and my 3rd gun a Belgium browning 20 gauge. Thanks for your input guys.

i1afli, I believe you understand. I have multiple copies of the same brand/style of guns. I was kind of collecting them to pass along to my grand-kids, but some of them have a pretty good collection going. Like my wife said when she found out I had 3 of a particular rifle, she said " how many of those does 1 man need", my reply was as many as I want. Then it gets me to thinking, some of those guns haven't seen the light of day in a few years. Red333, I appreciate your comments, but I quit fishing on the bank about 50 years ago. I can't fish from the bank. I thought bust out another thousand is what BOAT stood for. Although I have had many boats and never busted out a thousand for anything. Thanks guys

Well we have 3 no's and 3 maybes. You have made me think, but everything isn't about money. Guns probably appreciate more than boats, but I can't drive a gun across Dale Hollow and catch a fish either. Thanks for your input guys

Greg does that old worn out boat still float? That surprises me. LOL
-
Hi guys I value your input. I found a nice fishing boat I would like, but more $$ than I have at the moment. If you were in a similar situation would you trade any guns for a boat? I like to fish and some of these guns haven't been fired in awhile. Just asking. Thanks for your free advice. Mac

I sure wish it had been on much better circumstances. Every day I hear of some story that just makes me want to sit and let tears leak out. So many people that are hurting and need our prayers.

Tn allowing residents to carry guns without permits new bill
Dirtshooter replied to ted's topic in General Chat
Yep and what might that be?? Only they know because we are too ignorant to understand it. The way I read the 2nd amendment it says I, we have the right to own, carry, use arms and the associated items like ammo, magazines, etc. and it shall not be infringed. It doesn't say that the state of Fed gov't will send us thru a class and take our money so we can have what the 2nd says we already should have. I believe Swang said it best, his father taught him gun safety. Kind of like we need to teach our children about history, the Bible and other things and not leave it to the government. Teach them good work ethics, they learn it from watching Mom & Dad work everyday. -
I heard that yesterday Hobby Lobby was a staging area for workers to help in cleanup and 15,000 people showed up. Tragedies like this bring out the best in people.

Just heard from a friend Marine one and a Blackhawk was seen near Sam's in Cookeville this afternoon.

Happy Birthday Pop Pop, and get ready I will look you up when I get to Heaven!!
-
And you get charged an extra $10 to purchase a firearm, most other states uses the Feds NCIC and they don't charge you $10.

I am with you Dave, I know he wants to let the people know he cares about them and will help. But if they would just think for a moment how much that trip costs and puts that towards the recovery effort, but too many would talk about him like a dog if he didn't show up. Can't win for losing sometimes

Prayers for sure for all involved. You know there are several crazy things with this tornado, how far it went and what day. Exactly 1 year ago 23 were killed on 3-3-19 in Lee county, Alabama and in 1998 on super Tuesday it hit Nashville at 5 points. Heard a bit ago death toll now at 22 with 16 of them in Putnam county where Cookeville is located. We live about 30 miles north and had a little bad stuff, but no damage. Ya'll hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight if they are in arms reach, if across the country or globe call them and tell them you Love them. Life is just 1 breath away and we aren't guaranteed our next one. Stay safe!!

You are so right Pop Pop. The police cars may have Serve and Protect on them, but those guns they have are to keep their A$$es safe. If the deputy was sitting at the county courthouse with his car running it would take him a minimum of 30 minutes to get to my house. A .40 cal bullet travels about 1100 feet per second. You do the math. They may come to my house after the fact and draw a chalkline around my body and put police keep out tape around the scene, but they can't protect me and my family unless they plan on living with us 24/7. It is each of our duty to protect our Castle.
