Oh it is free speech if the LEO lies to you to try and trick you into saying something incriminating. Don't talk to them. I don't see the difference in me lying to them versus them lying to me. If you want me to be honest, why are you not being honest??

There is a right way and a wrong way to do things. All they had to do was get a judge to get them a warrant to install camera's and/or search the premises. I have a big problem with the fact that lots of game and fish departments in different states think they can go anywhere at anytime. I have mixed feelings about the fact they can put a dummy deer, turkey or elk out there hoping someone will shoot it. I really look on that as bordering on entrapment. The TWRA is like lots of LEO, there are some of their guys that push the limit a little too far. You can get a lot more flies with sugar than with vinegar.

Wood stock finish questions..
Dirtshooter replied to cknight8's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I just googled it and they say you can if you follow the directions. I would have said no. Shows what I know. -
I know this may be late, but if your wife likes a revolver which I think is the perfect cc weapon. Look at a 9mm revo and see if she likes it.

Yep the kids of today have had too many freedoms taken away. They have helmets to ride a bike, seat belts to ride in a car, can't ride in the back of a pickup in most states, can't buy a pistol until he/she is 21 but join the Armed forces and we will furnish them a fully auto M-16, hand grenades, .50 cal, tanks you name it, but they can't legally buy a beer, a cigarette or a pistol, that is pretty screwed up if you ask me. I guess this makes me an old fart for sure!!

I have permission to hunt some land near my house. A neighbor was found to have a deer feeder in his back yard that just happened to attract some turkeys. Another neighbor called the TWRA and I understand they now have camera's up near this guys place. So it may be an interesting deer season this year. I don't get the fact they needed 10 Federal and state guys to show up, sounds a little like intimidation tactics, similar to the Roger Stone fiasco.

Small pistoll primers selling for $100.00 per 1000 on GB
Dirtshooter replied to a topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Well I just thought that $154 per 1,000 was high, I just saw on GB with 1hr 45min to go on auction for 2,000 CCI 500 SP primers the current bid is drum roll please $605 plus $30 shipping, or in laymens terms $317.50 per 1,000 or $0.3175 per primer. This person evidently needs some primers very badly and doesn't have ANY friends or even aquaintances that would loan or even sell at a measly $0.15 per primer. Hey Bill you are setting on a gold mine. If I see it going for more, I see a new boat in my future!! LOL -
Take some white spray paint to that steel and you can see where you are hitting it a lot easier.

My old boss came home from work one evening and his wife said "do you know what your son did today"? And then told him Zach thru his demilled hand grenade thru the window, and my boss said it must have been a heck of a battle when you have to toss a grenade into you own barracks. I don't think she found that amusing.

1 extra mag in front pocket, and extended mag when on church security, always 2 or 3 in my truck's console. I would rather have too many as not enough!!

How true Ronald. I remember a few things my dad told me and 1 was not to tarnish your good name, because that was basically all you had going for you. He said you screw up and lie or steal or whatever and you could move to California and that bad rep would follow you. It certainly isn't the same world we grew up in. At age 9 I would buy a box of .22 shorts for plinking and squirrel hunting for $0.39, now kids can't buy knives, spray paint or glue for model cars. What a sad state of affairs!!! And ponder on this for a minute or two, we all had our own guns or access to them and no-one that I know even thought about taking a gun to school to shoot anyone. What went wrong? It isn't the fact of easy access to guns, it is some societal problem. Possible a parental problem??

If I had to guess I would say the 80's. But it is just a guess.

Yet another letter to the ATF...
Dirtshooter replied to maroonandwhite's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Just like the Supreme Court, they aren't there to make laws. That is job of Congress. The BATF doesn't have any authority to make "laws". And unless I am a complete moron their suggestions are just that. -
My son said his banker told him this "coin shortage" was a bunch of bull. He said it is all part of "the" plan to quit using currency and going to "the chip", no credit cards, no currency, just a chip or "NO SOUP FOR YOU". Truth or not I do not know. Just passing it along. I guess when people refuse the chip and they won't take the money, I don't know what folks with hungry children would do, but I have a really good idea!!

I had a friend back a few years that him and his dad would reload .45acp on a Dillon Square deal and his dad would tell Paul, hey we got some empty brass that needs to be filled. It really bugged him that they had brass that needed to be loaded. I like to keep a good bit loaded also, and it sure is nice in these panic times to go out and leisurely crank out 500 rounds of .38 just to go plinking with.
-
Use a slingshot, much more efficient!!
-
Mr. Slick Willy Clinton got me into reloading years ago. When I heard they were trying to make primers with a specified life span it got me to thinking a nice pistol, rifle or shotgun would be a very poor weapon without ammo. A 2 Iron would be much more efficient. So I started reloading, 1 reason I never have been fond of .22 WMR, I can load lots of more powerful ammo cheaper. Hey Raoul you aren't the one picking up Dennis brass are you? LOL
-
Yea it certainly is more expensive, granted I cast my own lead bullets. But I can load 9mm, .38 special, .40 S&W and .45 acp for about a nickel a round. That would be $2.50 per 50 round box or a savings of 63,8% based on the 9mm I just purchased. And btw I don't even own a 9mm, got that for my son.
-
I bought some 9mm fiocchi 115 gr fmj for $15.95 box of 50 locally. That is $0.32 per round.

Personally I think driving without headlights should be punishable by flogging. I see idiots every time I drive in the evening that don't have their lights on, and in the fog and pouring rain. Personally I WANT people to see me and maybe, just maybe stay on their side of the yellow line, which is a dream.
