  1. I bought a Beretta APX .40 last year and the first time I took it to the range about 13 or 14th shot the extractor popped me in the right knuckle and scared the crap out of me. I returned it to Beretta and have fired about 300 rounds with no problems. I figure after 700+ more I will trust it. As Erik said always eyes & ears when shooting. As I have said for years if it is man made it isn't if but when it fails. Hope this guy recovers well, that could have easily been fatal.
  2. Well that is only a 50% increase over the last I bought at Outdoor junction. So $45 primers would be reasonable. The last primers I saw were at Outdoor junction, lpp's for $79.95.
  3. Hey David, I may let you come check out my reloading component supplies, but let me warn you, I do have some, but the prices are out of this world. As in a new decked out bass boat will get you some powder and some primers!!
  4. One that you have is far better than one you might want but don't have!!
  5. Greg, I was surprised also, although I have killed a half dozen wasps already and a few skeeters. I had been weeding in our strawberry bed and stopped to get some tea and happened to see the little nasty critter on my hand.
  6. Just a reminder to all, keep your eye out for the ticks. Remember Permethrin is your friend.
  7. that is a good price, mine was better FREE!!. Not bragging just stating a fact. But lots of things used to be free or easy to get at a reasonable cost.
  8. DA as others have said, a SA is not what I would even consider owning, I see no need in them unless all you do is punch holes in paper and guess what that DA, allows to be shot SA!! I am like others here, don't worry about the bears unless you walk up on mom with cubs, watch out for hogs and 2 legged predators.
  9. Hey all, I am not an anti-vaxxer. I totally understand that people with underlying issues and those that are told by their doctor that they really need it, I think that is great. But first of all getting the 2 covid-19 shots won't keep you from getting it again, or giving it to me. So I may have missed something, what good is it?? The biggest issue I have is that Fauci and the government, in case you all don't know Fauci is the highest paid person in our government. If the gubbermint mandates that everyone gets a shot, I say that sounds a whole lot like Nazi Germany or U.S.S.R. . Especially when the government is trying to pass laws like the equaility act? I am not a law breaker, had a couple of speeding tickets, never arrested or cuffed and don't plan on it. However I am NOT going to take a shot that a government says I have to. I certainly hope the Chinese flu goes back to China, but since it is very similar to the common cold, I highly doubt it. It is here to stay and we just have to live with it. Sorry mods, move this if you feel it is too political.
  10. Mandate is one thing, policing it is quite another!! They will have to try and force people to comply and that is when the #### hits the fan. About like gun control, there are barely enough LEO to keep the thugs from not having a nationwide riot. So policing chinese flu immunizations is going to require a bunch more LEO on the payroll.
  11. Welcome to TGO, at this time Tennessee is still red, may be purple and then blue. Depends on if people wise up or not. I came from Mississippi and have always loved Tennessee as a vacation destination. I don't like cities, I currently reside in the smallest populated county in Tennessee at about 5,079 people. I can't imagine living in a country like you described. A lot of Americans have the same viewpoint as the guys/gals on TGO. I won't speak for them, but I will say this. " I WILL NOT COMPLY", with any gun laws that are unconstitutional, they can take a hike. I hope you find a place that will meet your needs and you can find peace and quiet. Mac
  12. Deerslayer that is sadistic!! Would love to see some video.
  13. Yea buddy!! The very first one I saw was in 2004 USPSA in Dickson, Tn. sectional championship match. I was shooting production class with 10rd mag and it wasn't static, you pulled a door open and it had a stick holding it up, I was sweating I could clear by using all my mags, I think I cleared it in 7 or 8 rounds. Whew!! There is a best way to shoot it if it is static, start at the top and then left or right to keep weight to the bottom to keep it from swinging. If you happen to shoot one towards the bottom first it can get ugly.I have seen guys just shoot and shoot and either run out of ammo or give up. Fun to shoot though, and if you haven't done it find one to shoot and go shoot it.
  14. Moped I just have to ask is this the layaway on the $249.89 22lr?? Just kidding I had to do it.
  15. And who in their right mind would go against a blind person with a gun, say a mossberg shockware or such. Hi cap mag and spray and pray, the shooter that is. The house would be full of holes where a mouse had ran across the room. LOL I bet nobody would even knock on his door after the word got out, hey old Coley must have lots of ammo we heard him shooting 4 times last night.
  16. Yea that's the low low price before you have to get a small business loan to buy some!! This time next year that could be $249.89 per round. Sad thing is I think some people might pay it. I have seen some crazy priced stuff on GB sell. Right now they have 1k Federal Gold Medal Match small pistol primers with 6 hours left for $330.00 plus $35.00 shipping. They must be made of gold to fetch that kind of price. Update the primers sold for $355+ shipping. That fellow was needing some primers pretty bad.
  17. Hey Red that is a really good idea. When I took my enhanced CC course in Mississippi we were told that the odds of surviving a gunshot is 80% but surviving a knife was 30%. He said unless you are shot in vital area you can generally get to hospital and they can save you. However if you are cut in a big enough vein or an artery you could bleed out long before an ambulance could get to you. In my case where I live that could easily be 30+ minutes. About the same time it would take to get a LEO here as well, that is why firearms with sufficient ammo is necessary here.
  18. David do you not reload? I can load target 9mm ammo for $0.122 per round or $6.11 per box. If it were legal I would love to sell you a couple of thousand at $0.49 per round, let's see that is 400%+ profit. Not bad for a day at the reloading press.
  19. Dang it a year later and getting comments. Ya'll must have something better to do than stay on TGO??
  20. If you do it will make your drive to and from work more fun!!
  21. We have raised chickens for the past 6 years and they are not that much trouble. You can make it easy or hard. Clean water is a priority, they can last for days without food. I have had 2 batches of red sex links and they are superior layers. I currently have a small flock of Black copper marans and also a flock of Dominic's. Dominic's are considered the oldest breed of chickens in the U.S. As mentioned by others, most critters like chicken. Domestic dogs are the #1killer. Do some reading at backyard chickens they can answer any questions. A 8X8 coop is big enough, the run where they spend the day needs to be big enough that there isn't much fussing and fighting. I have a rooster of each breed and they are gentlemen, it amazes me how they look out for the girls. One thing I have learned to use pine shavings in the coop under the roost and it keeps cleaning up easy, smell down. Don't use cedar shavings as chickens are susceptible to breathing issues with it. PM me with any questions.
  22. I have some old staynless primers like that, a friend got them from a friend that passed away and he gave them to me. No telling how old they are. I need to load a couple up and make sure they will still do the job. I have some old 9 1/2 Remingtons and some old cci's I think. I have some Winchester spp that I bought around 93 or 94 that has sticker $1.86 per 100. I have about 300 left, they are going into some 9mm brass shortly. I ran the numbers using those primers and some old red dot that was $19.99 a pound and a box of 50 9mm cost $5.21. It's a shame I can't sell them and make about 1500 percent profit!!
  23. Hey David, go get a square body S-10 they are easier to find and will handle the ls.
  24. No it's not going away unless the Chinese makes a more potent disease. Mighty suspicious to me that you rarely hear of the flu anymore? And since this chicom flu is going to be just like the common cold, there is no cure. The shot that people are taking won't cure this virus.
  25. I still have an idea that the supply chain has a broken/bent link in it. I think between the distributor and retail store there are people able to get the primers and sell them for their own profits be it on GB or elsewhere. Otherwise where do all the brand new primers come from on GB. I can see folks selling off some old stock they have, but seems suspicious to me. No tinfoil hat needed btw.
