I would say that despite being "outnumbered", the female members here can definitely hold their own. -

I must be slipping. I can't come up with a smart-ass remark for this. :stunned: Guess I need to head on over to AR15.com and get schooled. -

Midway has some subsonic 22lr in stock
tartanphantom replied to jphillips63's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Flyboy is correct about the shipping charges. It's a carrier issue more than a Midway issue. Still, I got my order in early this morning. I've got plenty of high-velocity but am completely out of subsonic 22. was worth it for me. -
An individual selling in the forum marketplace is one thing. I don't whine about that. 9 times out of 10 it's someone trying to unload something they don't want or need (not a bad thing), or they are selling out of necessity-- needing the cash for something else. Most Ads that I've seen have been pretty fair, even in the current market climate. Why? Because we are a relatively small and fairly close-knit (as "close" as an online community might be described). Still, for those few who might price well above the norm, I won't bash them, just let them be and they'll either find a buyer or figure it out otherwise. Brazen retailers like CTD are something else entirely. When your prices change daily with the prevailing winds, you might as well sell gasoline instead of ammo. CTD stuck it to some folks in 2008, and this time around they not only stuck it in, they broke the darn thing off. Their quadrupling of P-mag prices within a few hours period of Newtown still gets my hackles up-- and there wasn't even a proposed ban at the time. And the sudden closure of their firearms section at the same time, while posting some message about "CTD does not sell firearms", well... It smacks just a little too much like they just stuck their finger in the wind in order to decide how they could make the quickest buck-- ethics be damned. Their latest flyer was a total waste of trees... why even publish the darn thing if you aren't going to put any prices in it? Yes, I still get their flyers, although I won't buy from them. It's my very small way of getting into their pocket for a change. They have the honor of spending money to print the flyer/catalog, spend the money on postage, and then listen to crickets. If they had business reply cards, I'd attach one to a cinderblock and mail it back. I know they'll figure it out eventually, after they dont receive any orders from me for a year or so, they'll eventually cull my mailing address from the herd.

Hmm. May be dependent on the store location. Perhaps in Fayetteville they don't want anyone spotlighting deer with a .380 compact. God knows you've got enough of them in Lincoln County (deer, that is).

True. Please recall the old fable of the Ant & the Grasshopper. Right now, there are a lot of Grasshoppers who got caught with their pants down and are willing to pay some truly silly prices. That definitely doesn't help the situation.

A valid point. What's more, I think that the best way to answer a sale post offering overpriced merchandise is to answer it with deafening silence. If I think something is priced stupid, ignoring it is the best way to get the point across. When an ad is posted for 3 days with tons of views but NO responses, the seller gets the idea pretty quickly. Ads that insult my intelligence aren't even worthy of a response in the first place.

I'm not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure that I saw something in the proposed Feinstein bill that would outlaw the wearing of stripes with camo. I think she wanted to say "Mr. & Mrs. America, turn 'em all in"; but that portion got shot down in committee by the senator from Arkansas. :taunt:

CTD 9mm ammo; Am I reading this right???
tartanphantom replied to East_TN_Patriot's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Gangbangers will gladly pay that much. Gotta have something for the "glock-glock". Cheaper Than D!ck, --whatever. Oh, wait, and now Glen Beck endorses them too... wonder how much that cost them? Maybe they're paying him in .22LR bricks?? No thanks. Have a nice life, CTD. You won't ever have to worry about filling an order for me ever again. Ever. Wow. CTD pi$$es me off so much that even my non-sequitur rant has non-sequiturs. -
Unfortunately, I'm beginning to suspect that not all Walmart locations adhere to the same receiving and product placement procedure when it comes to ammo.

I have forwarded this thread and your profile page to the fashion police. There is currently a warrant for your arrest. :bat:

I've seen AR prices come down quite a bit, but so far the AK prices haven't fallen as quickly.

This event was sponsored by CURE . If you are not familiar with Star Parker's life story, you should be. I once saw her verbally rip Jesse Jackson to shreds on a talk show. I consider CURE a very worthwhile cause, and have contributed to them in the past, as i will continue to do-- and not only because of their stance on the 2nd amendment. -
I've bought a couple of beauties that were CAI, but I've also seen quite a few that were real dogs.

Most of Rutherford county around Murfreesboro and Eagleville lies in the Stones River basin, so it's pretty flat with a ring of hills around the area. Gladeville is a pretty good suggestion, I hadn't thought of that. Still quite rural, but relatively close to everything.

Congrats on purchasing a "one of a kind"! hmmm... does that mean you won't be spending as much on ammo for a while? :hat:
