  1.     Actually, now that you mention it, I DO have that listed as my occupation on my profile, and it's been that way since day one.   However, I got tired of trying to generate the 1.21 gigawatts of power necessary to keep the darn time machine running properly. Waiting to time my jumps with bolts of lightning is too much trouble, plutonium is too expensive, and the Mr. Fusion company has a horrible warranty, and abysmal customer service.   On top of that, no matter what era I travel to, I keep running into this annoying kid named Marty McFly... a total nuisance and constantly fouling up things. But his mom is pretty hot, though. I finally got him out of my time-jumping hair by hooking him up with a couple of dudes named Bill & Ted-- some nonsense about an excellent adventure or something.
  2.   Maybe he can post the Stanley Cup game scores for the next few games, that will help me tremendously in Vegas. :woohoo:
  3. I always referred to them as "Cheaper Than D!(c)k".   But I'm crude like that when it comes to scumbags.
  4. David still does reloading classes. Call Lebanon Gun Shop and they can give you a schedule and cost of the classes.
  5.   Good choice for a game round for a Mosin.
  6. I'll refer you back to my original post: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/65604-22-lr-in-stock-at-cabelas-hurry/page-2#entry971004   Don't feel bad. The order I placed way back in January also showed "in stock" at the time. I have yet to see it, but I do keep getting pushed-back delivery dates every month. No surprise here. It'll come eventually... maybe by November, but they're still honoring the original price.
  7.   In Russia, Mosins are more common than toilet paper. It's the cheapest 30-06 alternative you will ever find... for now.
  8.   Ed King, who wrote the music for Sweet Home Alabama, happens to be a friend of mine.
  9.   American Eagle .22 actually does come in 40rnd. boxes. Go figure.
  10.   Low-information voters--- after their EBT cards are cut off when Bernanke bankrupts the country. Ever heard of a place called Greece?
  11. I love my Henry H001 lever-action, and I recently bought one of the Henry versions of the AR7 Survival rifle-- what a FUN little rifle! I understand that the older Charter Arms versions are fraught with reliability issues, and even the Henry has been known to be choosey on ammo. But I also bought two extra magazines for it, and shot up a 325-box of Federal match ammo without a hitch.   Maybe I'm lucky, but I've got nothing but praise for Henry products.
  12.   Unfortunately, my intended sarcasm didn't translate well for you. :slap:   One of the pitfalls of written word vs. spoken word. If we had been face-to-face you would have understood that I was joking. :biglol:
  13.   Haha-- supposedly the only other person who can hit that high F note besides Minnie Riperton is John Stamos' brother... at least if you believe that early Southpark episode.
  14.   I'm with ya on the Hank III.   Don't care for ICP or Slipknot though. It's weird-- some "theatrical" bands are OK, yet I don't care for others-- Gwar for example. I don't really classify Slipknot as a theatrical band though, just not crazy about the material. Yet I always liked White Zombie/Rob Zombie stuff-- similar but different. Go figure.
  15.   Uh, I think those honors may go to Insane Clown Posse and Slipknot. :ugh:
  16.   Wow. I think It's a classic. Brilliant lyric writing & imagery, although it's pretty cryptic unless you know the backstory.   Do you hate the song itself, or just because it's been run into the ground by endless repetition? (also applies to "Free Bird")
  17.   BTW, love your current member title... and your avatar. Class of '85 here, but I think I already mentioned that-- Yeah, before your time.   "Loves that chicken from Popeye's."
  18.         Actually, the song was written by Bruce Springsteen. The original is on his debut album, "Greetings from Asbury Park."   Here's a little wiki snippet that is surprisingly correct about the story behind the lyrics:   "The Earth Band's recording of the song features several changed lyrics. The most prominent change is in the chorus, where Springsteen's "cut loose like a deuce" is replaced with "revved up like a deuce." This is commonly misheard as "wrapped up like a douche (the V sound in "revved" is almost unpronounced, and the S sound in "deuce" comes across as "SH" due to a significant lisp)." Springsteen himself has joked about the controversy, claiming that it was not until Manfred Mann rewrote the song to be about a "feminine hygiene product" that it became popular."     By the way, Steve Miller has never recorded a cover version of this song.
  19.   There's the rub... people like this "professor" would never attempt to do it themselves-- they are too sniveling and cowardly. That's why it's so much better to arm the DHS bureaucracy and have them do the dirty work for the liberal elite. Who knew political purges could be so much fun?
  20. Now we're diverting a little bit here-- are we talking about artists we don't like, or songs? There is a distinct difference. One artist can record a dynamite version of a song, whereas another artist can butcher it beyond recognition. In many cases the artist and the songwriter are one & the same, but many times they are not-- Taking the Helen Reddy example, she recorded songs written by Leon Russell, Graham Nash, and Van Morrison, among others. In fact, most of her material was not written by herself.
  21. As a working musician, composer & songwriter (thankfully not my day job though!), I view "hate" as a relative term when it comes to music. Although my musical tastes are extremely varied and wide-- and have been since a very early age, there are still certain songs & genres that I do not care to listen to. Nevertheless, when I listen to a tune I tend to approach it from a songwriting point of view most of the time. Whether or not I like or dislike the song is irrelevant many times-- I try to see if the songwriter was effective in getting their point across, or if they were just looking for a quick buck. Unfortunately, most of what is heard in the mainstream these days tends to fall in the latter category.   Regarding the song the OP mentioned, I'm not familiar with it, so I'm not sure if it was the writer's intent to provoke anger, but if so, they certainly accomplished the task with the OP as a listener!
  22.   Agreed. I didn't celebrate the death of Ted Kennedy either.   However, I DO celebrate the fact that they are no longer directly influencing the direction of this nation.
  23.   +1 on sticking with a regular style stock.
